I came in and tried to get a basic oil change on my 2006 hyundai elantra. Said they would call me when it was ready (there were no other customers). Never called, so 15 minutes later I come back and asked if my car was done, and the guy said that my car has "an irregular drain plug" that they don't know how to take off. I've taken this car to a multitude of places and never had a problem, and my boyfriend changed my car's oil just a couple months ago with no problem.

My wife took the car in on Thursday morning because she had a flat tire. When she got there she explained the problem and the mechanic said that if it was the front tire he couldn’t fix it because they were too sleek and warn out. After checking all four tires the mechanic said it was her back tire and he could fix it no problem . But my wife asked about the front tires since he mentioned they were too sleek and she asked him if it was safe to drive and he confirmed that it wasn’t especially with rain and it would be safer to change them . So my wife told him to go ahead and fix the back tire and change the front tires. He said that the car would be ready in three hours so she got a ride back home and walmart was supposed to call her. Two hours later they call my wife and said that the car was ready . She asked her what have been done to the car and the lady on the phone said that he fixed the flat tire. She told her that She also requested the front tires and she said that she didn’t see a work request for that . So I told her that was ridiculous that we waited for two hours to have one flat tire fixed and no tires changed . So she said that she was going to request it now but it was going to take another two hours. My wife told them that it was fine but she couldn’t pick up the car in two hours because she didn’t have a ride and if it was possible to come in the morning on Friday . She said it was ok . The next day at 10 am my wife went to pick up the car just to find out that the tires were not changed for the second time . They found her paper work inside a bin and no one pick it up and did the job. She didn’t even apologized, she looked very embarrassed though because She recognized her voice over the phone and she was the one She talked to. She offered my wife to leave the car again so that they could do the job and wait another 3 hours, without putting priority in my car or offering her a discount . She told them that she needed to pick up our son from school and there was not more time . We are definitely never going back to this place. Those people are lazy and they are not efficient in what they do.

2 foreign guys that’s pretty professional, fast and proficient. I believe evert and not sure of the other guys name.I’ve been a few times and seen a guy I think by the name of Joe that’s pretty rude to the African American guys. Seems as if he’s miserable with his job. He yells and hit stuff around. Not sure how management is allowing this. It’s not something that we(customers) should see.

Just be cautious I went to replace my tpms and one wouldn’t program (because the tire pressure was low) and they tried saying I needed a whole new OBD2 reader which part for 20 and install at local auto shop min 150 …I knew something was off I went to another wal mart and they fixed it for me for free. They told me it just had low tire pressure so again be cautious

Not enough “working” staff, an increasingly and far too common experience at most all Walmart tire care centers. That’s a corporate problem to solve. So why even do it? There are several reasons, one of which being they won’t try to upsell your aging parents, wife, girlfriend, daughter on unnecessary and exorbitantly overpriced stuff because they simply don’t have the capability (or incentive) to do any of that. So, just be prepared for a Walmart-esce experience. Appointments mean …. little, even arriving 15+ minutes early. Essentially still first-come basis, but in general a hectic experience. That’s fine only if you warn customers that’s the case or don’t take appointments in the first place. Frequently no one at the counter, so after waiting for help have to walk all the way to the front of the store to get out to then walk all the way back to automotive outside to talk to someone … because you can’t get out through the Automotive side door without an employees help. Theft prevention … I get it and support it. So … surviving Walmart Auto Care with lower frustration is about expectations. Have been treated worse at DR Offices … and more often.

I would give their auto a zero if possible. I quit going there due to auto department always understaffed, never have anyone to do the work during auto hours, and too undertrained to know how to do the job. Last time I attempted an oil change there(attempts made 4 times before this but no success due to no one there during auto hours to work) was told after waiting 2 hours there was a problem. They couldn't get the drain plug off. *&^#@ fill in your own expletive. I then waited another 45 for the manager to talk to me. Never showed. I was then just handed my keys and told nothing! 0 on customer service and knowing how to do the job. I just started doing my own oil changes again. I am faster than these ill trained poor examples of customer service.

I have no idea where to even start. My tires were purchased a month ago and here I am just now getting them on. Between my work schedule and their lack of communication, it’s taken this long. The old white lady in charge of the auto department has absolutely no customer service. None. She had me in tears my first visit, and this visit she hasn’t acknowledged me but to tell me my tires on in different names. Which I explained to her both time’s, a friend out of state ordered them and my fiancé was originally supposed to come bring my car in. I’ve been at Walmart for over 3 hours now and still haven’t been given an update, but don’t worry....the old lady has had plenty of time to take numerous personal calls on the clock and cigarette breaks. Clean store. Terrible service. She is the reason I will not be ever coming back to this location and will be letting all my friends and family know as well. She just needs to retire.

Got an oil change and 2 tires installed, takes a long time to get service or at least greeted and all workers seem very unhappy and grumpy haha. Noticed oil leaking from drain plug, they probably didn't replace the drain plug or crush washer which you really should do on every oil change. This is the only and last time I'm coming here again for oil changes. I came back and no one greeted me, I went inside to figure out what's going on and the front desk/cashier told me she would let him know. He looked at me and said nothing and pulled in the vehicle. I was told nothing and I'm currently waiting and have no idea how long this will take. Go anywhere else, maybe another location.

Walmart is plagued by huge understaffing issues as well as tech glitches that made my experience buying tires online and getting them installed horrific. After I got confirmation that my tires were available for pickup it ended up taking 2 hours of my time, multiple trips to the store, and massive frustration to get installation started (don't count on making an appointment, it will disappear. Appointment confirmation emails simply state "you've changed your order" so the staff will not believe you ever had one. ) They need about 5 times the techs in automotive that they have, but the issues go far beyond that. In addition to struggling with the non functional but required app I was given conflicting directions and information in person multiple times, so the experience was stressful, confusing and frustrating beyond just the necessary wait due to lack of staff and appointment scheduling.

I must have got lucky, based on all of the reviews. Had a bad experience at the Walmart Auto in Prosper, so came to McKinney, but reviews are worse here. Just needed one tire installed and balanced. Was told 11AM was best time to come in when they have the most staff and lease customers. They took me right in and I did some shopping and was out before the hour. Did the job correctly at a fair price. Customer service was very good. Made my day.

Don't visit here. Beware of Thea/Brett. I've got flat tire fixed in Prosper walmart. It's not fixed properly, i notice the next day morning it's flat again. I visit Mckinney walmart auto center to get it fixed again. They refused saying i should take it back to Prosper walmart. I am a walmart+ member, flat tire repairs are complimentary for my membership. My tire air pressure was dropping, even then they refused to fix it. They kept insisting it costs them man power and $ to their cost center. Doesn't make any common sense. So what if i got it repaired like few hours from mckinney walamart or may be out of state, i should take it back to that walmart auto center, it doesn't make sense.

I started by showing up at my 2:30 appointment and walking to the desk at the Auto Service Center. The young man told me to just drive the vehicle inside the #1 or #2 bays. I asked if I just needed to drive it in, and he confirmed. A little speculative, but compliant, I started to pull the vehicle into the bay as the older gray-haired ponytail oil change guy shouted, "REALLY?" and through his hands up. Now, realizing that my suspicion was validated, I stopped at the entrance to the bay, and the guy that fills out the order approached me and apologized and asked me to back out and park at the entrance to a different bay. He was beyond helpful and professional. Turns out, it was the counter guy's 4th day on the job. I needed an oil change and a new tire, which the woman that answers the phones in the morning, scheduled for 2:30 (oil change) and 3:00 (new tire). The helpful guy told me that the tire appointment had not been scheduled, so be mindful of lapses in communication when scheduling. Also, the app does not properly update because I got more than one text letting me know that my service for the oil change had started, but no progress was indicated on the app. So, oil change ended at 3:30 (I did get that notification, immediately followed by a notification telling me that my tire service had started). At 4:30, the old tire was still on my vehicle. And lucky me got the pleasure of having gray-haired ponytail guy changing my tire. Turns out, his work ethic is as strong as his positive attitude. As I waited outside the bay doors, a man that had just had a new tire installed came back around and told gray-haired ponytail man that his low tire indicator was still illuminated, GHPG said, "WHAT?" in an obviously rude manner. When the man repeated, he said, "Just drive it for a while. It'll go out." The man thanked him and went on his way. In case you haven't caught on, GHPG's attitude sucks. The tire was finally removed at 4:40. I got the notification for completion at 5:20. Also, there was a paint chip on my driver door mentioned in the paperwork, but I don't recall it being there before. I can't prove anything, so that's my mistake for taking my car here. The lesson that I learned here is that if you want professionalism and work done in a timely manner, go somewhere else to have your automotive work done. And FYI- My oil change cost over $60, which isn't bad, but I could've done it myself for less than $40 and saved myself 2.5 hours of the afternoon and not had to put up with patchy communication and unprofessional attitudes. For the record: 2:40-3:30 - Oil Change 3:30-4:40 - Nothing 4:40-5:20- Tire Change

The worst ever... they took the vehicle for AC freon recharge and now they are saying there could be a leak and they don't want to look into the leak. What is the point of recharge with a leak.. $500 waste..!!

Called a few hours ago and they said I can walk in and get my oil changed. Turned up just now and a gentleman started checking me in. About 5 mins in another gentleman with a rude temper said no walk ins. Great. Wasted my time and there's apparently miscommunication between your staff.

I made an appointment to buy tires online. But they took the payment twice and said it would be refunded to your card. They couldn't find the appointment. The tire warning light is still on. They are not professional at all.

The service is horrible. Employees are always distracted, in truth if Walmart pays them very little because they work without a little motivation. These employees need more training. Be ready for 3 hours for a basic service.

I had my tire repaired by Everton. He knew exactly what to do to get me back on the road again. I found that his customer service skills are above and beyond what I expected at Walmart. I would recommend this tire facility over others I have tried in the past. The skills of his coworkers were excellent as well. I recently got my oil changed here and it went very well at a price I could afford. Its not often you find quality workmanship of this shops high caliber. Try them and you will see the difference. Thanks again to all the dedicated professionals at Walmart Auto Care Center.

I visited the Walmart Auto Care Center at 9:00 a.m. on Nov 9, 2025. When I arrived, one employee—a woman at the counter—and no other customers were present. The environment was very quiet as it was a Sunday morning. She did not greet me or acknowledge my presence, even though I was clearly waiting in line. I said “hello” to get her attention, and she looked up without responding—no “good morning” or “may I help you,” just silence. I asked for a tire estimate, but she continued to stare at me without saying a word. I repeated my request a second time, and still received no response. On the third attempt, she finally said, “I can’t hear you,” but her tone and expression made it clear she was uninterested and unwilling to assist. Her attitude gave the impression that she did not want to work that morning and found my request bothersome. This experience was extremely disappointing. There are many hardworking individuals seeking employment who would appreciate such an opportunity, yet this employee demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and customer service. I strongly urge Walmart management to address this issue and ensure that all Auto Care Center staff receive proper training in customer service and workplace courtesy. After this experience, my family and I will no longer be returning to Walmart.
