After getting minor work done to my vehicle, I'm not sure that I would come back. They were able to fix my car and I've had no problems ever since I got it serviced, however, I have concerns about their honesty and pricing. When I got the work order back, they charged me $180 to tighten my heat shield. $150/hour labor and $30 for a few nuts and bolts. This price was crazy high, and they admitted that the mechanic only spent half an hour on the car and used two set of nuts and bolts to tighten the heat shield, so we were able to cut the $150 and $30 in half for a new total of $90. Only after inquiring about the price and telling them that I hadn't been planning on going through with the service (they did it anyway without notifying me, despite telling me they wouldn't) did they drop the price down. Left a bad taste in my mouth. They also tried to sell me a battery charge ($45?? Can't I just drive around to recharge it?) and oil change ($90, synthetic), despite there being a sticker on my car indicating that I still had 3000 miles to go before my next change. The front desk mentioned the sticker too, so they clearly saw it. Overall, they felt dishonest since they did work on my car that I didn't want, tried to sell me other services I didn't need, AND the pricing is very high based on my experience with other shops in the area.

Garbage service. You will get an email with everything that is wrong with your car, even if you didn't ask for it. And they will make you pay for this list of wrong things in your car, whether you fixed anything or not. Stay Away. Save money and your dignity

Honestly a pretty rough experience in terms of their service. I’ve been going here for the past two years to get my car inspected and have had no problems with that. They’ve been upfront and honest about why my car didn’t pass/what it needed and it was pretty seamless. My issue comes from having my car diagnosed for a ticking noise in my drivers side wheel/front area. My car was dropped off in the morning around 10am to be diagnosed and inspected. Come 2pm I was called and informed they had lost the keys to my car. I was understanding, we are human after all, and patiently waited knowing they likely they were somewhere in the building or maybe a service tech left them in their pocket. 3pm comes and I am called again and now they are saying they lost my car. That sparked a lot of anxiety that maybe my car was stolen from their lot. Turns out my car was there the whole time, they had checked in the wrong car. My car was in the lot with keys in the ignition and the window down. Made me nervous but hey, the car was there and safe so I was able to forgive that. The issue came with the diagnostics stating I needed new brakes and rotors all around, three new struts, an oil change (the oil change was fair, I am nearing the time to do that). After all of the things that were found to be wrong they quoted me $4,500…That’s a little much in this economy so I went for a second opinion and pulled my car apart myself. (I have experience working on vehicles and took it into AZ, as working on a car in a Boston street is both unsafe and frowned upon) Anyhoo, between the inspection of the second opinion and my own inspection, none of the supposed problems existed. My brakes have roughly only 20% wear, plenty of brake pad left, the rotors are in good condition, and my struts are fine Back to the main diagnostic problem….the source of the ticking noise? Some rust in my caliper, which is a much easier fix and maybe took at max 30 minutes of work. I essentially was quoted 4.5k for some rust in my front caliper. The fact that was overlooked or maybe the plan all along was to do the unneeded work and “fix” that along the way. Overall my experience at AZ was unacceptable and clearly a money grab. If you are thinking of going here, do so ONLY for inspections as that has been the single area where I have run into zero problems. I would not recommend AZ for actual work due to dishonest practices.

What a scam artists these people are. Charging for a check up??? No thanks. Than telling me I can't have my car until I pay for this sham inspection. I will tell everyone i know how horrible your customer service is under new management, supposedly.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences here! Multiple years of inspection stickers, informing me that I should add my AAA member number to get discounts (when I didn’t know that was a perk), helping with small repairs free of charge and in the immediate moment, informing me of the warranties each services includes, a car wash voucher if they didn’t have time to do that themselves, explaining what the repairs are for/mean in detail - as a young woman I’ve never felt condescended to or deceived about “necessary services”. Really glad to have them in my neighborhood.

I've been an AZ customer for 5 years. As you get with every place, there are ups and downs - everyone has a day where they're not 100%. Their gas prices are good, they have pretty good turn around time with service, and their work is good quality. (Their mini mart is open 24 hours, in case you live in the area and need a late night snack.) But this review is prompted not by the service: it's prompted by their team member, Natalie. She solved a problem for me with such speed and kindness and compassion. She is who I want to help me when I enter an establishment. She is a great employee and I want to make sure she knows it.

Stopped by today for an inspection and they took care of me in no time at all. While I was waiting I saw some pricing for their services and they were reasonable. I spoke with one of their techs before and after the inspection and I wish I could remember his name because he was very professional and helpful

Save your money and headache. Every time I go into this service I see a line of customers in the office pleading to be reasonable, not to overcharge, to give them back the car etc. The horror I have experienced needs several pages of explanation but trust me it will be a good read. Basically you will pay through your nose for stuff you never wanted fixed, and when you try to get to the bottom of the problem you will hear all kinds of excuses starting from Mr Audy is not here at the moment, or Mr William Audy is spending time with his family. ( Mr Will Audy is the owner of this disaster on 1555 Commonwealth Ave, Brighton) Save your time and dignity and go somewhere else.

You'll get your stuff fixed, but theres going to be a careless attitude from everyone including the receptionist. Whats worse is the premium price you'll pay for such an exceptional service. Oh, and if they need to find something in your car, dont worry, they wont ask for the key to your wheel or anything. They'll just toss everything until they find it. Oh, the best part is that they'll toss the broken part on your car floor regardless of whether it's leaking. Greatest service ever 😒

Will rip you off. Don't bother. Every time you walk into their shoddy office there is a line of people with sad faces. Their expressions speaks volumes. They all realize they are being ripped off and can't do anything about it. Just for inspection they will charge you $75. So you came in with a minor problem, they send you the "estimate" which is not a bad idea, but then they add on services you never asked for or wanted. Beware.

This morning, I went to this repair shop for a vehicle inspection. They first told me the exhaust system had a leaking issue, but after I said it is hybrid engine so it sounds fine to me, and at the end the exhaust system passed the inspection. In the end, they claimed there was a problem with the steering and suspension, but I had just done a wheel alignment a few days ago, and there were no issues with the control arm or suspension. The steering is also working fine. I believe they are trying to scam me. The shop also wanted to charge me $150(Their hourly pay) for a diagnostic fee per hour, and if I didn’t get the repair done there, I would have to pay that fee. I think $150 per hour is too high. I want to share this experience here so others know what happened to me.

My car had a lot of problems, and even the dealership and Firestone couldn’t figure out how to fix them. I decided to take it to A-Z Auto Center, and they repaired everything within a week! I highly recommend them—the mechanics are truly skilled, experienced, and professional.

They are the absolute best! I’ve been there a few times to get work done on various things from engine to windshield wipers motor issues to inspections. Time and time again, they are the loveliest people and my go-to guys for any car related issues or inquiry!

I am sure these technicians are very good at their job - fixing cars. They unfortunately are terrible at communication, which is just as if not more important to me as a customer. Re: response I came to A-Z Auto center for an emissions test. “Connecticut Emissions test” was the exact request. I was told to wait 25 minutes - sure thing. 45 minutes later - not a peep from them. I get up and only then do they tell me my car is ready. They show me the test result - which I ask if the emissions passed. They said sure sure, just the safety failed. At this point, they had wasted my time by not alerting me when my car was ready, and they had told a small lie. They did not do an emissions test on my vehicle, like I asked. Only when I got home and clarified with the CT DMV did I realize they did not perform an emissions test. The AZ technician on the phone essentially talked me in circles - you can see their response below, none of which I am refuting. I do, however, want to point out that not once did they say “hey, by the way, your car doesn’t need an emissions test according to our system”. That would have saved me an hour and $35. Instead, they did the test and never mentioned that they did not do the emissions test. The technician on the phone claimed no wrongdoing as he is simply going by the system. If you want to take your car here, where the technician admits to just being a conduit for machine-like service, go ahead. For many cases, that’s actually probably a good thing. However, if you want to go to a shop where the technicians think about what the customer actually needs done, look elsewhere. The technicians admitted wrongdoing on the phone, only after I explained to him my perspective as if he was a 5 year old. I literally needed to use an analogy about apples and oranges before he said I was right to be upset. Everyone is doing their best at AZ. I just think the technicians best was not where I was hoping it would be. Re: re Lol, it’s quite legal to get an emissions test in MA and send it to CT DMV. The CT DMV even showed me a picture of an example MA emissions test for me to compare to. If they’re willing to talk out of their rear on a public forum, just imagine what they’ll do to your face (unfortunately, I don’t have to imagine).

I usually don’t write reviews but I felt inspired to do so after my first visit to AZ yesterday. Billy is one of the pleasant people I’ve ever met in my life!!!!!! This seems like an amazing family business that truly cares about you, your car, and your safety… will definitely be going back

Best Mechanic/Auto Body in Boston I've lived in Boston since 2012 I went through the ringer trying to find a mechanic that not only does quality, reliable work, but more importantly treats you like your "home town" mechanic. Billy changed the game for me. Whether I'm getting an oil change, replacing a cracked tail-light, dealing with a totaled vehicle, purchasing a used vehicle or more recently investigating a full engine recall, Billy and his team will always go above and beyond to do what's best for their customers. I moved from Allston to East Boston 4 years ago and am confident that I will continue to bring my vehicles to Billy over any other Mechanic no matter where I live because I know he's always going to have my back

Came here to replace wipers and a headlight bulb; they had the parts I needed and did the work quickly for a fair price. Their waiting room is clean and comfortable with good wifi. I appreciate that the guy who did the work left driver’s seat in position (not everyone does that 😆) The place modest in appearance - but they did all the small things right.

Great service, professional and thorough. You get an email with literally everything that is wrong with your vehicle, and then it’s up to you if you want to fix just the most important stuff, to save on repairs, or everything. I don’t remember other places having this feature. Could take a bit of time but only because good repairs take time and care. Highly recommend. Location helps too. Plus they have a cheapest gas station so I fill up only at this place. Good stuff, come check it out.
