This review is only for the Bell road AAMCO transmission repair near Arrowhead Mall. I got good honest service, It was quick with a very fair price. Team members were knowledgeable and immediately diagnosed the problem with my transmission and they did not try to sell me additional services. I wain & out within a couple hours

I came in with a car that was presenting a pretty awful sound and I thought my transmission might be done. Instead they found the bracket holding the transmission a screw was gone and another broke off so it was bouncing around as I drove. Fixed it for free. Super nice, really appreciative.

AAMCO in Tempe made quality repairs for a fair cost. More than that, though, they were pleasant and friendly, too. I had already had the dealership look at the issue, throttle-body kept sticking- and allegedly fix said issue, twice. Still haven’t had an issue, and even though I no longer drive the car on a regular basis, my mom now has it, and that’s after helping her drive it to Syracuse NY in March. When we were going up the mountains on the 17, not only the car able to keep pace with the posted speed limit, I found myself even speeding a few times!!

I had concerns about my trans going bad, and I wanted to hear from the experts. I feel like they took care of me, took their time explaining what was going on and what my options were. As a mechanic myself I felt totally at home. It was a professional task but had felt like it was personal like they cared for the car as if it was their own. The manager even brough out Sergi, the head mechanic to talk to me once I was there for pick up.

The communication regarding policy is almost zero to none. When someone is looking at replacing a transmission, know that they'll not work with you if you're common folk like myself. They say they have financing but financing can double the price of the work with zero work around. They do have a storage fee that they'll fail to mention and won't release your car even if they just did a diagnostic (I have the recording.) It's cheaper to uber it until you can get a car under 5k. Good luck out here y'all, these money grabbers have no compassion.

AAMCO took my truck when I had an issue with it starting. When they went to check it, it started up and they tested it a few times before calling to tell me they could not diagnose a problem that wasn’t showing. They charged me nothing, got my truck in ahead of schedule, and were kind and courteous. Not many businesses operate like that anymore. These are honest people that you can trust.

Carlos was great, and so was the receptionist that I checked in with this morning. However, I question whether or not I really need new air filters, as I just replaced mine in September. I suppose they could have gotten dirty but they have not yet been installed for 60 days, and driven far less than 2K miles. I'm not sure what to think about that.

I called around to several places. They were all great service places, but the prices were double what it was here. This place has been in Tempe where I grew up since I was a little kid. Since they couldn’t do it that day they offered me a discount. Literally half the price of the competitors. And they had it done quick with no problems. Great place.

I brought my daughter’s car in here a little less than a year ago for transmission work we ended up having to replace the transmission. They offered us a certified transmission which we accepted. Since then we’ve had nothing but issues with the transmission, the car has been into the shop multiple times for multiple transmission problems and they’ll keep the car for weeks at a time. Every time we have to drop this car off for some sort of warranty work our car comes back with another issue. If it wasn’t under warranty, I would never go back to the shop again. I would never recommend this place to friends or family.

I had a very disappointing experience with this AAMCO location. My heater issue was never properly diagnosed or repaired. The employees seemed unwilling to work with my warranty company, and I was simply told the heater would warm up if I “drove it around for a while”—it never did. Additionally, missing stem caps under the hood, which I had noted on the paperwork when I first brought the car in, were not added initially. I asked again before leaving the shop, and they finally provided the stem caps. Only one separate minor issue was repaired, and my car was in the shop for an entire week. I ended up taking it to Oasis Auto, where the issues were identified on the first day. They noticed that my coolant level had dropped just a few hours after I initially dropped the car off, and determined my car needed a radiator replacement with a coolant system flush and a vacuum bleed—repairs that were completely missed by AAMCO. They also recommended replacing the thermostat as a preventative measure. My heater is now working perfectly. Unfortunately, Oasis Auto is out of network with my warranty company, but I had no choice because AAMCO was unable to resolve the problem. I do not feel confident returning to this AAMCO for future repairs. They need more skilled and attentive mechanics at this location. This is not the place to go for anything beyond very minor repairs.

The customer service at this location was beyond what I expected. I looked at a different company and chose not to use them because of lack of customer service. After agreeing Aamco to work on my Tahoe this location came in on a Sunday a closed day to work on vehicles which one was mine. They started on my Tahoe on Saturday and finished on Sunday, a closed day. Ones they learned I was a veteran I received a service beyond what I expected. From the phone to the mechanics everyone went above and beyond. I will recommend Ammco to all friends and family because of this location hard work.
