I took my 2010 Cadillac SRX in to have a transmission put in. My car drives great and it was not super expensive. My technician was Rahim and he was upfront and transparent throughout the whole process. I received updates on the shipping and the work very often. It took a total of 2 weeks to have the work completed. It would have been shorter but the shipping of the transmission was a bit lengthy. No matter what, this will be our new repair shop for all of our vehicles.

I just wanted to say that where so many shops that I have pursued repairs at failed, AAMCO was a profound success. Wonderful easy to deal with, the manager Chris was absolutely informative and easy to reach. I have tried so many other places to get my vehicle repaired and it being a big job (an engine swap) many other either just dropped the work in the middle of it creating a huge fiasco or just downright rejected the job completely.Much thanks to all the participating technicians and mechanics who are responsible for getting me back on the road at AAMCO!

Obviously no one wants to pay to have transmission, but if you do I would highly recommend this shop. As a woman, I was treated with respect and honesty. As an added bonus, I learned they do much more than transmissions so now I have a life long mechanic!

I had a great experience at AAMCO Plano TX. Rahim, the owner, was genuinely kind and approachable, taking the time to answer my questions when I needed clarification, which made me feel like a valued customer. One of his technicians walked me through the repair process clearly, showing their skill with transmission work and diagnostics. The pricing was reasonable—noticeably better than other shops I’ve checked in the area for similar quality work. Their free check engine light diagnostic was a nice touch, and the option for financing was helpful. Overall, the service was professional, and I’d definitely recommend AAMCO Plano TX to others.

I never really write reviews, but I feel the need to this time. I was doing maintenance on my truck and I really screwed myself by messing up my transmission. I recently took my Corvette Stingray to AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care for a transmission repair, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The owner, Rahim, was fantastic, and I worked closely with Chris, the manager, who truly went above and beyond. He coordinated with my warranty company, handled all the details, and kept me updated every step of the way. They set clear expectations for when my car would be ready, and not only delivered on that, but also caught a minor future maintenance issue and fixed it on the spot. The professionalism, courtesy, and transparency here are unmatched—I’ve never dealt with an auto shop this attentive and trustworthy. Went in for my Lexus thought it was a transmission issue. They had a warranty company come out and they quoted me $7000 for a new transmission and ended up tricking me into draining and refilling my transmission fluid for a few hundred dollars. I just got it checked out somewhere else and they told me it’s 100% not the transmission it turns out it was the turbo malfunctioning. Glad I didn’t waste $7000 on a misdiagnosis by their obvious inept techs. DO NOT GOT HERE THEY OBVIOUSLY ARE ONE OF THOSE THIS IS WRONG WHEN ITS SOMETHING ELSE TYPE OF SHOP!

The store manager's name is Chris. Chris is a great man. He is honest, educated and been working for the company AAMCO for awhile. I was referred to this particular shop. Last week I have take my 2023 Dodge Challenger Skatpack to get the transmission and differential fluids changed. They did a A+ job. Car runs beautiful. I am very picky on whom works on my cars. If I am posting a great review here, don't go anywhere else. Reach out to Chris and this shop. You wont be mistaken.

Stay away from this shop. Why? Maybe it is because they took 7+ weeks to fix it. Maybe it is because I had to call after a month to find out they are sitting on their thumbs looking for a part(which I ended up providing). Maybe it is because they are irate every time you ask them a question- like for a quote on week 3. Maybe it is because they deny the bolt and shields missing after they worked on it were not their problem. Maybe because they leave the shredded paper floor mat and grease stains on the carpet and door and grease\oil everywhere under the hood all over the transmission when they give the car back to you. Maybe because it purred like a cat when you gave it to them(just wouldn't shift) but you get it back with 3 check engine codes requiring replacing multiple parts- all on the engine next to the transmission. Maybe because corporate tells me I am SOL and won't help me, or my favorite- it doesn't shift right and lunges fwd and back the second they give the car back to you and tell you it is not a trans problem(another shop fixed it). Pick one. PS. Chris - the manager tells you he will call you back to replace the parts they lost but doesn't call- all after taking you for over $3000. I have called and revisited multiple times and the shop denies anything is wrong all the way to the end of the useless warranty. It's not a job well done, it is a job.... well... done????

The team at AAMCO in Plano did an amazing job getting my car back on the road. I had major suspension issues. They were able to quickly diagnose the issue. I had a wonderful experience here! Rahim, Kip and the team took care of my 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 6l80 transmission. It needed to be rebuilt and it was a total pain in their ass but they got it handled in no time! They have multiple financial options if you aren't able to afford it all by yourself and if anything came up they made sure to give me a call and tell me what was going on. When I got my truck back they told me about the break in period for it and also told me to bring it back when I was available so they can run some tests on it to ensure that everything is still running properly! That alone makes me feel confident about them they want to make sure all of their customers are satisfied with the job done and you can tell they take pride in their work! I've put about 800 miles on this new transmission and she is running like a brand new truck! I cannot explain how happy I am to have my truck back and running good. Thanks y'all I appreciate it more than you know!
