I've been looking for an honest auto shop since I've moved to Raleigh and I've found it. The team at AAMCO in Raleigh goes above and beyond with service. My car was diagnosed with a possible transmission issue at another shop and they recommended a second opinion. I took my car into AAMCO and they did a free diagnostic on my car. They also checked everything to ensure there was not an issue. I highly recommend them.

Told my work would be a certain number, when refused they dropped the price by 30% for the same work, they could’ve offered me from the start. They put everything back on without care. Have an open case against them with the State attorney general’s consumer protection agency. They care about money, not your safety!

College student here!! I’ve been in Raleigh my whole life and have witnessed many of my friends be swindled by other mechanics in the area with their “lower prices” only to have their cars back in the shop for the same issue or more. AAMCO provides an honest assessment of your cars problems, with quality work that actually lasts. My family and I have been going to them for years, and we have never had to take any of our cars back for the same problem ever. This shop will take care of you!!! My friend was having issues with her car’s engine and took it to Jerry. Jerry not only diagnosed the problem, but gave us a very generous offer and went above and beyond to help us out without any benefit to himself. He even shined the headlights out of the kindness of his heart. Ladies, students living far away from home, if you have a car problem and don’t know anything about anything mechanically, this is your guy. He WILL take care of you and will be HONEST with you every step of the way. My friend’s car runs amazing, and they had it in and out of the shop in a day. Incredible work by incredible people. Very efficient, honest, professional, and caring company. Trust Jerry, he won’t steer you wrong.

I recently need some work done on my vehicle and a friend told me about the AAMCO located on Capital Blvd in Raleigh. He said it was the best and I could really trust them. Being used to shady auto repair shops, I was very skeptical. After speaking with the staff and mechanic, they all assured me that I was in good hands. To my surprise, the repair was completed earlier than promised, the price they stated was the price I paid. I am absolutely sold on AAMCO in Raleigh and will now recommend them to everyone I know. Jerry and his crew have worked on three of my cars, including my wife’s. ** EDIT/UPDATE** After speaking with the current owner, I learned that my experience was with the previous owner. He reached out promptly, clarified the situation, and kindly offered a complimentary oil change to make things right (which I've politely declined, though I truly appreciate the gesture). In light of his effort to address my concerns, I've updated my review to 4 stars. **OLD REVIEW** Here to give a 10 year update on my experience. Brought in a 1994 Automatic Bmw 3 series. Car was shifting rough. Aamco said it needed a new transmission and would be like $6-$7,000 for a new transmission/install (worth more than the entire car). Went home and dropped the transmission pan found it was low on fluid replaced filter and cleaned magnet. Transmission has ran STRONG for the past 10 years LOL not a single slip or problem with it.

Cannot recommend the team and their services at the Capital Blvd location enough. They are quick, thorough, and sincere. I took a car I was looking at buying to this location, and Jerry test drove and looked it over with detailed attention. He spoke with a vast and tried knowledge, giving honest advice and clear explanations as if we’d been friends for 20 years. Hands down the best transmission shop in Raleigh! George and Jerry are super friendly and really knows their stuff. BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE Disclaimer-all franchises are not the same. The alleged documents provided are for you to research yourself the business model of AAMCO. You would think with an alleged 40% failure rate and 7.5% Royalty Fee customer service should be a priority. The customer service and lack of due care I received was unacceptable. Jerry Irizarry who claims to be part owner was very dismissive. You are not allowed to drive your vehicle until payment is made. What happens in less than 24 hours? Holiday weekend no one to call, when I get stranded for 6 hours, 45 miles away trying to get a tow. A complete loss of power, gears, fluids , smoke and totally inoperable. Warranty by the way does not cover a tow. I have been to the shop 3x in less than 45 days. However, Jerry paid me back for the $370 tow because he felt sorry for me? Or because I filed a complaint with the Attorney General. Repairs have been done but my vehicle still is not shifting properly nor does it have the power it had before. AAMCO customer support was very rude as well. There is so much more to this story. I DO NOT TRUST THEIR WORKMANSHIP. Go with the underdog who sees you, hears you and appreciates your business and calls you by your name. Alleged documents old and new tell the overall business model that they stand on and it's been going on for years ... allegedly. Updating 6 months in and transmission fluid leaking. I had to return to the shop for repair, it was covered under warranty. If you or someone you know has experienced any negligence with the shop, please file a report with the Attorney General and the FTC. Beware. Consumer Alert!
