I was extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service I experienced—until today, 02/02/26, when I had the pleasure of speaking with Ava. She not only answered the phone immediately, but also personally booked an appointment for me. Her professionalism and efficiency were greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Edwin from the Parts Department, who was very helpful when I spoke with him last week. That said, for over two weeks I contacted the Alexandria, VA dealership on four separate occasions in an attempt to speak with someone regarding an email the previous owner of my Hyundai Santa Fe received stating: “Our records indicate you have safety recalls or service campaigns on your Hyundai that may still be outstanding.” Despite these repeated attempts, I received no response from the service department. This lack of follow-up is unacceptable and required immediate attention. While I am grateful for the assistance I finally received, the overall experience was frustrating and fell far below reasonable customer service expectations.

After 17 years, I started searching for a new car. I came to this dealership many times to test drive several cars. Eduardo Pozo, my sales rep is absolutely amazing and outstanding. I would highly highly recommend this dealership and Eduardo!! He was patient, kind, friendly, respectful polite and very responsive to all my many questions and texts. After purchasing my car, he went above and beyond to teach me how to operate all the new electronic features on my new car. I recently brought my Palisade to Hyundai of Alexandria for paint repair work that was approved by Hyundai corporate under goodwill. The service manager was fantastic — professional, understanding, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was handled properly. My service advisor was courteous, communicative, and always followed up to keep me informed. I truly appreciated his positive attitude and willingness to help throughout the process. The quality of the repair is excellent, and I’m grateful to the Alexandria team for their support in getting the repair approved and completed. Their professionalism, friendliness, and commitment to customer service made the experience a great one.

Avoid this dealership if you value your time. My experience from December 30th to January 28th was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. I was encouraged to lease a 2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid and returned the next day to complete paperwork delayed by the finance team. Despite sales manager Scott providing a printed quote for a 20,000-mile-per-year lease, the final documents presented to me showed 15,000 miles with an extra 5,000 miles purchased without my consent. I immediately confronted Mo, the finance guy and Scott about the discrepancy, but it was clear their focus was on closing the deal. Both sales managers Scott and Eric failed to address this mishap. Due to the confusion and pressure, I switched the lease to 60-month, 0% financing. The finance team took several hours to convert the deal and ran my credit again. I later discovered missing paperwork, and my calls and emails went unanswered. I returned in-person to get the missing paperwork, and was told Mo was not in. The salesperson Rasoul—who was genuinely helpful took me to see Lori. Unfortunately, she was dismissive and unwelcoming, stating she "didn't have time" but will let Mo to get back to me. I returned once again and met with Sales Manager Scott, who promised that a member of the finance team would contact me by Monday; however, no follow-up ever occurred. By January 28, just two days before my temporary plate set to expired I returned one last time and learned my permanent plate hadn’t even been processed. I told the receptionist that I needed it resolved that day, and after waiting two hours, it was finally delivered from another office. My request to transfer my trade-in plate was ignored, causing financial loss to my old plate at the DMV. Overall, from management to the finance, this experience was extremely poor. I do not understand why I had to endure so many issues after purchasing a vehicle costing over $43K. This experience reflects poor communication, and a lack of accountability. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

My fiancée and I brought her 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe to Alexandria Hyundai Service two weeks ago after the heat failed in the middle of winter. This was not a new issue. Earlier in the year, the vehicle had already been serviced for the same problem, and that visit was marked by poor communication, unclear timelines, and an almost three week repair period. When we returned this time, we spoke directly with Sam, the Service Manager, and explicitly raised our concerns. We made it clear that this was a repeat failure of a repair that was previously supposed to resolve the issue, and that communication during the prior visit had been unacceptable. We asked for nothing unreasonable, simply basic updates on progress and transparency around timing. Despite those expectations being clearly communicated, the situation was handled even worse. After another two weeks, we received zero communication from the service team. I attempted to contact Sam multiple times using both phone numbers on the card he personally provided. Every call went directly to voicemail, and none were returned. I ultimately had to go to the service center in person just to get any information at all. At that point, I was told the vehicle was being test driven that day, yet there was still no follow up regarding the results, the actual cause of the issue, or whether the repair was complete. When I spoke with Sam again, I received another apology for the lack of communication. However, apologies without action are meaningless. There was no proactive outreach, no ownership of the failure, and no effort to correct the ongoing breakdown in communication. This service department is clearly overbooked, poorly managed, and incapable of providing even the most basic level of customer service. Customers should not have to chase down updates, show up in person to get information, or tolerate weeks of silence for a vehicle issue that affects basic safety and comfort during winter. I strongly recommend avoiding Alexandria Hyundai Service entirely. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and communication makes this service center not worth the time, stress, or inconvenience, regardless of warranty or pricing. There are far better options elsewhere.

We had an outstanding experience with George Wahash at Alexandria Hyundai. George originally sold us our Palisade, and his commitment didn’t stop after the sale. When a recall came up, he personally coordinated everything and even arranged for a mobile service technician to come to our home and complete the repair. Been meaning to write this review for a long time, and now seems like the right moment. I bought an Elantra from this dealership with the “oil change and tire rotation” package. I drive a lot, so I service the car frequently. The service center is in a convenient location, the facility is new, and it’s pleasant to be there. When I purchased the car, they gave me a good discount, for which I’m very grateful. However, there are serious shortcomings in their service that no one—neither the staff nor the management—seems to pay attention to. Maybe after reading my review, they will start paying attention, and future customers will be more informed. 1. December 2024 — Oil Change and Cabin Air Filter Issue I came in for an oil change and tire rotation. Everything seemed fine and was completed within the expected time (about 2 hours). While driving afterward, I noticed that the airflow from the vents was much stronger, but I didn’t think much of it. Since it was winter and the roads were heavily salted, I started having a persistent cough only while in the car—at home, I felt fine. So, I decided to check the cabin air filter myself. When I removed the glove compartment, I saw that the filter cover hadn’t been closed at all. I had been breathing in road salt and dust for a whole month. I’m attaching a photo of the filter installation. I reported this via email and online chat, and also mentioned it during my next visit. But no one seemed to care—not even a simple apology, either in writing or in person. 2. April 2025 — Long Wait and Poor Communication I went in for another oil change and tire rotation. I was told it would take 2 to 2.5 hours, as usual. But after waiting for 3 hours, I asked the manager how much longer it would be, since I needed to pick up my child from kindergarten. I was told the car would be ready “soon.” After another half hour, I asked again. The manager called the technician and told me it would be ready “in 10 minutes.” That same promise was repeated several more times. In the end, I waited nearly 4 hours—well beyond the time they had estimated. I was late picking up my child, and no one even offered an apology. Instead, they spoke to me with visible irritation, as if I was bothering them with my questions. 3. Oil Leak the Next Day — Poor Workmanship The morning after the service, I noticed large oil stains on the floor where the car had been parked. I was very upset—this could have meant a serious issue or expensive repairs. Luckily, there’s a trusted auto shop near my house. I brought the car there to have it lifted and inspected. It turned out the oil leak wasn’t due to a mechanical issue at all. The “leak” was simply leftover oil that hadn’t been cleaned up after the oil change! The engine bay, undercarriage, and suspension were covered in old oil—sloppily drained and never wiped down. I paid $30 to have the area cleaned, and—just like that—the “leak” was gone. No further problems since. I didn’t bother reporting this to the dealership, because based on previous experiences, I doubt they’d care. Maybe these incidents seem small, but they really aren’t. They show a lack of basic quality control. Why should I be worried about an oil leak when I’m supposed to be enjoying my new car? If these things happen during a routine oil change, I shudder to think what might go wrong during more serious repairs. I decided to write this review because I hope it helps others avoid the trouble I went through. I truly hope my experience will serve as a warning and lead to better service.

I have been coming here for the last 5 years and always the experience has been great. I have been working with Yessenia for a while on my car service needs and she is always transparent on what my car needs and always tries to get me in and out as quickly as possible. They have also revamped their space so the waiting area is great to get work done if you are going to be waiting a while. It’s also in Del Ray so plenty to do if you choose to drop off your car and come back.

This will be my first and last time coming to this dealership. I waited over 3.5 hours for a simple oil change. As I was leaving, I noticed that one of the caps to put air in my tires was missing. I notified someone before I left and proceeded to be gaslit and asked if I was sure it was there before. Obviously it was. I didn’t appreciate being given a hard time after waiting almost 4 hours for a simple appointment.

Eduardo has to be the top salesman. If not he definitely is in our opinion. It's all about the attention to the details and he's on point. It's a small dealership with a big heart. My wife and I have owned multiple Honda Odysseys over the last 15+ years, but as our family has grown up and started to spread out, we decided it was time to move on from the minivan. We were also starting to feel that Honda’s reliability just hasn’t been what it used to be. Before Christmas, we stopped by Alexandria Hyundai to test drive a 2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy, and that first drive completely changed our perspective. Adam was our salesperson, and he was fantastic—extremely knowledgeable, genuinely helpful, and refreshingly low-pressure. We were very clear that this was our first stop and that we were just exploring options, and he respected that 100%. We ended up shopping extensively across the DMV, test-driving many comparable vehicles from other manufacturers. Throughout the entire process, Adam stayed in touch without ever being pushy. We worked through most of the details via phone and text and were about 90% committed to the Palisade. What truly set Alexandria Hyundai apart was what happened next. On 12/27, Adam and the used car manager, Kelvin, personally drove two different Palisades to our home so we could see which one we liked best and let the rest of the family check them out. That level of personal service and attention to detail was incredibly impressive and something we’ve never experienced before at a dealership.
