This place is is horrible, I went there for the first time about six months ago for a synthetic oil change when I dropped by again to get my oil change I was denied service for some strange reason. The person who was working asked me if I had been there before, I said yes when he asked me for my name i gave it to him, the employee then replied that he couldn't fine me in his system. The shop was dead no cars and no one was waiting. I replied to the gentleman that if he couldn't find me in his system, it wasn't a big deal . He could just start a new file for me. The gentleman then said to me that he did want to my business, I was shocked to here that!! Even though I had been there before i liked the fast and friendly service. I know people have to the right to refuse service but for a returning customer that is shocking. I do not recommend this place at all!!! I have had my oil change done all over town and I have never been treated like this. this place is very convenient for me since I only work down the street. I like to support local businesses, but after being treated like this.. Omega tire you can keep your oil I'll take my business else where

I am writing this review to give other customers notice as to what occurred with my vehicle and why I have given such a low score. In light of the overall treatment I received from the manager John, I would give him a ZERO on the review. I took my vehicle in for brakes twice. First they did the front brakes which were done well and no complaints. When I took my vehicle in for the rear brakes to be replaced, I was called after dropping the vehicle off for the repair and told that my shocks needed to be replaced. I told them they could replace the rear shocks and they said it would take a couple of hours and they would call me to come pick up my vehicle when it was finished. Just by chance, I dropped by the store early and when I drove up, they mechanic had my jeep sitting on the lift (lift was down on the floor) with the rear hatch and window open and he another customer were talking and looking into my jeep. When he saw me approaching, he immediately shut the hatch and closed the rear door and started the lift. I walked up to him and asked why he had the rear of my vehicle open as there was no reason to do that and why he had so quickly shut it and raised it on the lift. He replied "no reason", "I just had a little problem with a broken bolt on the shock, but I took care of it". In conjunction with his suspicious actions and then this reply, I told him "bring my jeep down right now". When the jeep was on the floor, I opened the rear hatch and door and looked inside. There was a 3 inch X 5 inch hole cut in the metal floorboard all the way through to the outside and the metal was filleted up like a sardine can lid and I could see the concrete floor through the hole. I asked "why the F**K is there a big hole cut in my jeep"? He replied that he couldn't get the bolt on the top of the shock loose because it had rusted, so he cut a hole to do it from the top. He said "we do this all the time", "but I'll put bondo on it and everything will be ok". I asked him "why didn't you call me and ask permission to cut into my vehicle before you did this"? He said "my boss (John) told me to do it". He called John out and I asked him why he had told the mechanic to do this without permission from me? He said "they do this all the time" and that he knew I would have said no, so he just did it anyway. To make a long story short, I demanded that they pay for the repair to my vehicle at a local body shop (which they did). But I had to spend another three days without my vehicle while that was done and I had to endure several conversations with John telling me that it was basically my fault because I should have replaced the shocks sooner before they rusted. He was extremely rude to me and especially my wife during this whole ordeal. My biggest concern was his statement that "we do this all the time and the customer never knows about it". So if you have had work done on brakes/shocks or other work done by these characters, I would advise that you look under your carpet and see if there are any holes with pink epoxy fill to repair them. Needless to say, I will never use them again for any work on my jeep, and would NEVER recommend them to anyone.Poorest excuse of professionalism I have EVER seen.

Please Read - Alpha Tire & Total Car Care is the classic unethical shop. John will be super nice before taking your money then is a complete lunatic. The number of short cuts he did in repairs is to vast to list. First off everything I say is what another mechanic stated. The Intake Gasket and Manifold were not replaced with new parts like what was on my invoice but instead sprayed with silicone and reinstalled. All the bolts were only hand tightened upon reassembly. John the owner does not care about these issues nor that I have a written statement from a reputable shop that my engine was not put back together properly. Luckily I'm savvy enough to watch fluids in my car and realize there was a problem right away however John would not re-evaluate his work thus requiring me to seek another mechanic. In the end it was probably better to pay another $1,000 to have it done right at another shop. As a former trusting consumer I now realize how important it is to read reviews, especially when you have an asset worth over $20,000. John doesn't care about his reputation online (Google, Yelp BBB etc). He is very jaded at this point and sees customers as enemies, but probably because of issues like this. I even mentioned I'd have to take him to small claims court to his reply of her sue me back. So my review in summary is John will do shady work, reuse old parts as new, not stand behind his work and threaten to sue you if you try to get what you originally paid for. John asked me to write all this down honestly and that is exactly what I've written. Please people be warned Go elsewhere. It's taken a lot of time to write this in hopes of protecting you from the nightmare John has caused me.

I want to say a huge thank you Juan and Frank. You treated my husband and his truck so good. You have our future business. We have always been dealership people but when we saw their price compared to yours and your customer service compared to theirs. You win. I sent my 18 year old daughter there yesterday as her tire kept losing air. So I wanted to update my review and thank you guys again for taking care of my baby girl this time.

Carlos is awesome. He worked at a Subaru Dealership previously so he's very knowledgeable about Subarus. He saw me at 3 pm on a Thursday to fix my broken brake light; the whole thing took 25 minutes. The waiting room could be improved but the shop is no-fuss and gets the job done. I'll be booking my next couple of car appointments with them!

I cannot recommend these guys enough! This was one of the best, if not the best, experiences I have had when having my car repaired. I am not afraid to admit that I do not know that much about cars and as a result, I get anxious just thinking about taking my car in (Will I understand what they are saying? Will they try to pull one over on me? Can I receive quality car care at a good price? ect.) But from the moment I called to bring my car in, everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. I was able to get my car in quickly and at a time that worked in my busy schedule. Every employee I spoke to there was welcoming and courteous, I did not feel like I was putting them out with silly questions, instead they took the time to explain everything to me in a way that I was able to understand what was wrong with my car and why it was a problem. And to top it all off they had great, competitive pricing. I was so relieved after picking up my car and just hearing the difference in the way my car sounded (or as one man kindly put it, "it no longer sounds like the inside of an airplane). I am beyond satisfied with my experience!

I work a few doors down and came here after being let down elsewhere in town. It was nice to be able to leave it while at work. They were able to handle my tire without much notice. Service was great and this is a nice locally owned shop. Highly recommend these great folks!

I've been using Alpha Tire for 5 years now on 3 of my cars from AC fixes to tires to smogs and more. John and his team are all very knowledgeable, fun and fair. Highly recommend them and they are convenient if you are near the Robb Drive side of Reno.

Great service except: 1. I went in to replace front wheel hubs. Tech or owner Carlos/John did not mention that the hubs were still good and did not need to be replaced. I paid $350.00. 2. Squeeky noise inspection: Owner Carlos/John told me to bring in truck for a free inspection, to find the source of the squeeking noise, near rear wheels. After 3 hours, Carlos/John tells me the truck is ready and started printing out an invoice. He tells me a shim was added to passenger rear brake and fixed the problem. I was not asked or given a work order to approve or sign, before repair was made. He gave me a $75.00 invoice to pay and sign, which I did pay. I called Carlos/John the next day, to discuss why I was not told the hubs were still good before replacing with new ones. 1. He said it is not his responsibility to have informed me and he does not owe me any "common courtesy" to have informed me about the condition of the original hubs, that were still in good working condition. 2. He ranted about fixing the squeeking problem without my approval and said he would refund the $75.00..if I wanted free service. There was no way to have a rational discussion with him about my concerns. I have had repairs at this shop for several years with no problems. I will no longer have any more repairs done at Alpha Tire & Total Car Care.

Very rude manger! My best advice, especially if you’re a woman run to Big O or discount tires. I had a tiny screw in my tire that caused a slow leak, I was told by Mr. Yellow jacket my tire was ruined. I took the car to another nearby tire shop, where they checked the integrity of the tire. I was told all is well with the tire fixed it with a patch job and I was happily on my way.

John and his crew do good and honest work. No pushy sales tactics, just honest mechanical work, which I appreciate. He has always taken my vehicle in quickly, even for an emergency repair where I got towed to his shop. Great neighborhood shop. Will be taking all my future mechanical needs to Alpha.

Very professional and knowledgeable and did an excellent job on my work. I had an emergency radiator problem and he got me in right away and got the work done in the same day. Gave me a good price and showed me all the work and parts after. If you want an honest hard working shop to take care of your vehicles then come here. Definitely recommend

🌟10/10 Would Recommend!🌟 If you're looking for an honest and skilled tire shop, look no further than Alpha Tires! The mechanics here truly have hands of magic and a wealth of experience. Unlike many other shops, they don't give you the runaround or try to upsell you on unnecessary services. I visited Alpha Tires on two separate occasions, and both experiences were outstanding. The first time, I was dealing with a persistent check engine light that had baffled two other shops. After multiple visits with no solution, I brought my car to Alpha Tires, and they diagnosed and fixed the issue in no time! On my second visit, I faced a frustrating situation where a simple job was turning into a two-hour ordeal. After wasting time at Autozone and O'Reilly’s, where four different technicians couldn't figure it out, I finally took my car to Alpha Tires. To my amazement, they had it fixed within minutes! The level of expertise, efficiency, and genuine care for customers at Alpha Tires is unmatched. I can't recommend them highly enough. If you want a reliable team that gets the job done right, this is the place to go!

I’ve been using Alpha for years and have always done a great job. John always gives a fair and competitive price and doesn’t always come back with additional charges like other shops I’ve been to. Would recommend them for any car care

I have lived in Reno my entire life and been to several car repair shops- this is by far the worst auto repair shop I have EVER been to. I got my axles fixed and was charged THOUSANDS of dollars. I wish I was kidding. After this, I notice a horrible screeching sound whenever I brake. I bring it back and they quote me hundreds more to replace my brake pads. Just horrible customer service. Wasted so much money here.

I was surprised these guys do all repairs and Johnny is a master mechanic. I went in for tires but they helped with other repairs in the car too. They are in the business of "turning wrenches" not killing you on mark-up parts. Their labor rates are reasonable, particularly when compared to the dealership. I'll be back!

I hesitated to write this review because I know reviews carry a lot of weight and can make or break local businesses. But others need to know the truth about this place. Every other 1-star review couldn’t be more accurate - This shop isn’t just bad, they are the worst of the worst and are knowingly ripping people off. RUN AWAY from this shop!! I took my wife’s 2018 Audi Q3 in for a routine oil change, hearing that this shop will work on Audis. Of course I got the call that some shops like to make – “your front brakes need to be changed immediately.” I had been hearing a bit of a squeak, so I told him to go ahead and change the front brake pads. He told me that the rotors needed to be done too, which I knew was false, but gave him the benefit of the doubt, knowing that a lot of mechanics like to change both at the same time. Later that day, when I picked up the car, there was a significant rattling sound coming from underneath the front, near the front left tire. Within a mile, I turned around and went back to the shop and told them about the noise. One of the assistant mechanics jumped in and rode around with me and said he had could hear the sound loud and clear as well. We drove the car back into the bay @ the shop, they took a very quick look while the car was on the ground, and told me the work they had done with sound and was not causing the issue. I told the owner that it was not making the sound before I brought it to him. He said he didn’t know what to tell me and that again, the work they had done was good. I asked him if he was going to lift the car up to take a look. He said he didn’t need to. A couple days later I went back to have them re-check because the noise had gotten worse. Once again, the shop owner not willing to do anything about it. As the sound was unbearable, I took the Audi to another shop who diagnosed it immediately and said that whoever had done the brakes knocked the casing around the front strut loose, which was making the sound. They fixed it, I paid for it. NOW, just a few weeks later I’m paying this new mechanic to re-do the brakes (another $700). 2 months into these new brakes, there is a grinding sound when I brake that’s getting worse by the day. New mechanic took everything apart and showed me that the brakes and rotors Alpha had put on my Audi ($700 brake job) were bottom of the barrel, cheapest brakes you can buy from a run of the mill auto parts store. You can’t use bottom of the line pads and rotors on that kind of European car and Alpha knows that (The owner brags about being one of the only shops in Northwest Reno that will work on European cars). As far as I’m concerned the practices they use, the customer service they don’t provide, the shotty workmanship is criminal. It’s not just that they’re incompetent, it’s that the owner FULLY know what he’s doing and is taking advantage of people, lots of people, see all the reviews! They are ripping people off. They don’t deserve your business.

Good shop with good history in Northwest Reno. John is a master mechanic and owner operator with a capable crew. Fair prices, no bullshit and a fun welcoming atmosphere when you walk in. He's worked on all of my cars , Mustang ,Subaru Sti, Lexus and Honda Pilot from AC repairs to trans and more.

I went to Alpha Tire & Car Care for an alignment after a tire change at Discount Tire. I mentioned to John, the owner, that my son had hit a curb, and he quickly said he’d check what needed to be done. I left my car around 3:15 PM and expected a call. My sister and I killed some time and went back at 4:25 PM since I hadn’t heard anything. The shop was already closed, but John let me in… only to tell me he had called me five times (my phone showed only two missed calls, and there were no messages). He even said, “Normally I only try three times… who says that to a customer?” He claimed I needed new control arms and quoted over $1,300. I declined. Then he pointed to a sign and said, “See, normally I charge $175 to put it on the lift, but I’m only going to charge you $80.” As my car was locked inside his shop, I honestly wondered if he was going to hold it hostage… I really thought that. He never told me he would charge for putting it on the lift, and I never signed a work order. He also told me I was “lucky” he was still there because he was leaving soon. Today, another shop inspected my car and confirmed the control arms are completely fine. And they did an alignment for a very reasonable price. Save yourself time… I do not recommend Alpha Tire & Car Care. In fact, just don’t go there. He was probably wringing his hands when he saw this 70 year old lady coming in.
