We were traveling through town and had bike issues. The HD dealership we called said they were pretty busy and wasn't sure they could squeeze us in today. Showed up at the American iron shop, walked in and they immediately got on our issue. They gave us COLD water while we waited and offered us some food they had brought in. These guys were amazing. They took care of us like we were family. Thank you for saving our road trip.

The price was very reasonable, the work was excellent, and the customer service made me fell like I was dealing with old friends. These guys are great! I really can't say enough good things about American Iron - they saved my Sturgis trip! I had mapped out a route from Northern Virginia, through Canada, to South Dakota (wanted to visit the Great Lakes while I was at it), and just an hour or two into the ride I heard a rattling and the bike started to shake. I pulled into American Iron terrified about what it could be (nothing that makes the engine shake is ever good, right?), and they did a quick evaluation, gave me an initial assessment, and told me what would be necessary to do a proper diagnosis. A couple hours later, I was back on the road, and I even got to fall asleep in Niagara, Ontario that night. Everyone there was very nice - they treated me like a friend, offered water on a hot day, and even recommended a few spots where I could grab a drink to pass the time while my bike was fixed once it became clear that it would take a while to fully diagnose the issue. The next day, Paul even texted me to make sure the bike was running well and that I had made it to Canada safely.

I had my top case on my 2013 BMW k1600GTL painted by them. It was not to my liking at first, they didn’t blink and said they would fix it. 2 days later they called and it was done perfect. Very happy with their work. Customer service was excellent from Paul. He kept in contact throughout the process and made sure I was satisfied. Highly recommend them for your motorcycle painting needs.

Amazing technicians and awesome communication throughout my 2005 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper diagnosis and recommended repairs required. I will return if ever I need professional repairs on my chopper. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give them a 10+ !!

Not very pleased. Dropped my bike off for fork seals leaking and a carb issue. NEVER RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE. Got a call 1 and 1/2 days later saying the bike was ready and my bill was 683.00 for the fork seals and two carb jets with a bowl gasket. I asked if the tech road tested the bike and was told no due to cold weather. Waited until next day for road test and was told bike was ready. Paid a 640.00 bill due to a veteran discount on the parts only. I realize it is slow this time of year but 5 hrs of labor for these repairs is excessive. First and last time I will use this shop.

I have a 2020 107 street glide and I wanted insight for recommendations on how to improve its performance. We discussed D&D pipes, 468 cams, thundermax, etc. They were very helpful on discussing pros and cons, showed me live examples, as well provided web links to check out. After that point I agreed to get the installation. It took a couple of months for the pipes to come no fault to them. This was at peak of supply chain issues so it was completely out of their hands. Once the pipes came in, they had my bike in and out same day. They do great affordable work and this team is the only team I let touch my bike. - Larry

5 Stars? Where is the 10 Star choice? American Iron Speed-n-Cycle is the real deal. After learning what I could about Zipper's Red Shift 468 cam for my M8, I stopped in Zipper's Elkridge shop with a few questions. The guys asked me where I lived, and when I told them Frederick, they laughed and sent me straight to American Iron to talk with Greg & Cody. Yes, they are that tied into Zippers and Thundermax. I drove straight to American Iron and met with Cody. He immediately came around from the counter and sat down with me to talk about what I was thinking.. my requirements. Cody is a real Harley-Davidson guy and told me all about the 468 cam and what I could expect from the Thundermax ECM tuner, etc. He even showed me a few tunes on his laptop and promised he'd set it up right. The work was completed on time and the results are way beyond my expectations. It is an enrtirely different experience - the performance is amazing. The throttle response is instant and the torque curve is BROAD. Power is strong in every gear and as a bonus, it SOUNDS incredible. Don't hesitate going with American Iron. Greg, Cody, Laurie.. the entire team will make you feel right at home. Thanks again, Cody, for waking up my beast. Awesome work!

Couldnt ask for a better place to have my Harley looked over and taken care of. A small business that deserves a ton of credit. Picked up my bike on Wednesday afternoon and by Thursday morning I knew what needed fixed. They were very informative and priced very well. Highly recommend for all your motorcycle service needs.

I had rocker box gaskets and breather replaced at the local Harley dealership. Upon leaving the dealership, the oil dipstick shot out of engine. I took it back to the dealership. They said that it was not the result of their work without looking at it. Their next appointment was in two weeks. I then trailered the bike to American Iron. They evaluated the problem and determined it was due to the breather not being cleaned properly at the Harley dealership. American Iron resolved the issue and there has been no additional problem. I highly recommend American Iron.

My experience with American Iron was exceptional and my bike will not go into any other shop. My bike (86 heritage softail) had issues that other shops could not fix, lucky for me, Greg, Lurch, Paul and the rest of the team only have solutions for the issues. Not only does the team do exceptional work but you actually get calls to hear the progress and path forward. One thing the team did was installed a 21” front wheel, Speedo cable and sensor which required custom fabrication, thanks to this new install I was able to place Best in Class for the 84-99 EVO class at Gettysburg Bike Week ride in bike show. Thank you to the team at American Iron!! Pat B.

I took my low Rider S for service just before a big trip down to Daytona bike week. Spoke with Paul and he was extremely helpful and informative about what I could get out of the bike. I wasn’t expecting them to clean the bike also, (that was a huge plus!).

I’m out of state traveling from Michigan when I got a rear Flat-tire on my Road Glide, I called at 4:00pm !!! These guys are awesome, Greg the owner himself came and picked my bike up with a trailer from the rest area on Eastbound 70, while Lurch was clearing a lift and taking a new tire that had just been mounted inoff their bagger drag bike to get me back on my way down the road, (which was the exact tire I run and was not in stock anywhere in town and would have had to be ordered) I think I was down an hr. Felt like hanging with my boys back home and I had never even met them !!! They wouldn’t let me get on my bike until they wiped it down and when I tried to buy one of their shop t-shirt and they gave me one !!! These guys are my kind of people they are the real deal. They live this shit… my hats off to the entire American Iron Speed n Cycle crew !!!

I have been a happy customer of Greg and the American Iron team for several years, having them service my '79 FLH. Early on it was generator/alternator replacement, clutch repair and replacement, new tires and other things I have probably forgotten. On all occasions I have been completely satisfied with American Iron's skill and specialized knowledge on vintage Harleys. However this winter I came to Greg and the team with a really big project. I had complete confidence in them, since this was definitely an ambitious project requiring deep Shovel-Head expertise. In the plan: 1) Replace the (agricultural-grade) stock 4-speed transmission with a premium Baker 6-speed, (with kick starter!) 2) Replace the stock cam with an Andrews J-grind mild street cam. 3) Replace the old pistons with stock. 4) Complete paint job in glass piano black of tank, fenders and saddle bags. 5) Complete restoration/polishing to better-than-new condition of all cosmetic aluminum covers on chassis and engine. 6) Replacement of stock exhaust with Paughco dual fishtails. 7) Install vintage replica police windshield. Forgive me guys if I have forgotten anything. The end product was truly stunning! Like a brand new bike! The work performed was not just "what was ordered", it was above and beyond with attention to detail that revealed passion for the work and the glory of vintage Harleys. The paint was like mirrors everywhere, the trim pieces and hardware parts removed and re-installed on the painted item, with no taping needing to be done while painting. Greg has an HD factory riveting tool that was a big help here. The aluminum polishing was stunning. I would not have believed it possible. The transmission was a incredible improvement over stock, a credit to Baker and the American Iron team. Man, I am REALLY STOKED on how everything turned out. My dream since I was a head-banger in the 70's and 80's was realized and exceeded. To sum up, American Iron Speed-N-Cycle is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED without hesitation. This is for any Harley work, but especially jobs requiring Shovel-Head, Pan Head or Knuckle Head expertise. But this is just what I know about, please go to them directly ask about anything else, you can trust anything they say about their abilities.
