Awesome place with incredible owner and staff. It’s a blessing that this place exists and is so available and accommodating to those who want to do their own work and don’t have access to a lift, air tools or fluid disposal. Five stars and will definitely be back.

Needed to change the transmission fluid and front & rear Diff fluid on my car. Dealer says transmission fluid is "lifetime". Sorry, no such thing as lifetime fluid if you want your car to keep running. The shop was the perfect place to do the job. Available tools and all....

Staff was friendly and helpful. Got us on to a lift right away and took a genuine interest in what we were working on, offered a couple of tools for us to use. One of the guys even helped us widen the bolt holes on a gasket. Laid back and affordable.

Came in to install a new exhaust on my Mazda3, the staff were very friendly and helpful getting me into the bay and showing me how to use the lift and tools. If you want to don't mind getting your hands dirty and want to save money on labor, I highly recommend them.

Real chill spot. Rent yourself a frame lift to work on your vehicle! Probably the most useful spot in all of Austin! They have tools available if you need them. Also people to help if you need some advice. Changed a set of lower control arms and brake pads on a Full size Range Rover with ease after it was in the air. I will definitely be back!! Rad business!!

Excellent place to work. Went in to do a brake replacement on an ambitious schedule, they had everything needed to do the work and were patient when I realized that I had been ambitious in my timing. Xavier is a lifesaver, thanks man!

Needed access to a lift to replace the manual transmission shift linkage bushings on my Cadillac ATS-V. Could hardly find a shop that would do the work and the lowest price I was quoted was around $1200 so I decided to do the work myself. This place offers lifts, tools, jacks (e.g. transmission jack), etc so you really only need to bring your car. The rates are extremely reasonable and they have mechanics on-site if you need help or otherwise run into trouble. I'll definitely be coming here again the next time I have a big job and need a lift!

Mark and the team here are excellent. We have a small fleet of diesel trucks that constantly need maintenance and his crew always make sure we are taken care of. They are upfront with any concerns and let you know if a small problem will be turning into a big problem before it does.

Great service. Easy reservation, had what I needed so I didn't have to bring my tools, just all my parts. Two hr min, but for $65 I saved over $500 using them and having a lift makes things so much easier. Took a lil over an hour from time in to time out to replace inner and outer tie rods on a Challenger. Will def use again when needed.

Wish there were more places like this these days. Drove from Houston to do some work that would have cost well over double the price of the bay time and my hotel for the weekend! Nothing like being able to use a lift and have just about any kind of tool you need available - hand tools, power tools, welding/torches, paint, etc. Makes repair a breeze and the team here is very knowledgeable and able to lend a hand if you need it. Will definitely be back to do more of my big service work, worth the drive to do it here!

First time at this shop was this past Friday 9/15. I rolled my 2017 Audi SQ5 into a bay with lift that I reserved ahead of time. Repair was a new wheel bearing and hub. A job that I received quotes from 4 different Indy Audi shops, all over $1,200 parts and labor. Arrived at the shop and they directed me to the lift and gave me all the help I needed getting it safely onto the lift. Once the tutorial was done they pretty left me alone unless I went over and asked for help finding a certain tool or when I got stuck a few times working my way through the repair. All the mechanics on hand were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. For anyone that has worked on Audis, you’ll know they love to use odd sized “triple-square” and hex bolts - no worries here, the shop has ALL the tools you’ll need. Rolled into the shop at 9am rolled out at 2:30pm with a brand new bearing and hub that installed. Total: Parts; $200 sourced on my own. “Labor”; $170 all in. For the lift and access to all the needed tools. Including some minor help here and there from their mechanic crew. $370 VS $1,200. No contest. I’ll definitely be coming back to add some performance parts I have sitting in my garage soon!

Great place to work on your car yourself. Very good rental rate for lift stall and tools. Just bring your own parts. Very nice people work here to keep it available for do it yourself mechanics. We love this place and drive 53 miles one way to use the facilities. Thank you Austin DIY Shop!

What a great place to work on your vehicle. I have used them twice in the past two years and both experiences were flawless. They have mechanics on duty to help you with repairs if needed or just to show you the ropes. Their selection of tools is just the best. I’ve never wanted for nothing while wrenching on my truck. As long as I live in the area, they will be my go to place for doing my own maintenance.

Came here specifically because I had some trouble with some really stubborn bolts. I was ready to give up and take it to a shop before I found this place With the help of the guys running the shop, I got so many different projects done on my car with a lot of help and I paid about what it would have cost to loosen a single bolt at any other shop. Highly highly highly recommend. I learned so much and I got so much done!

Changed the 4 struts, oil change and small maintenance for my gf Corolla and this place has all the tools needed and more!! Payed under $120 for the 3 hours I was there and the mechanic, Xavier, was very nice, in general I would 100% recommend you to come here to get stuff done on your own car and save a bunch of money!!

This place is a one of a kind gem. I’m a retired tech and did a full engine build on my 06 f-250 6.0 truck several months ago. Pulling the engine at home would have been a big pain I’m so glad I didn’t have to. I spent 3 weeks here and it was like being back in the shop. Everyone that works here is awesome and the owner mark was a just a good genuine person. I greatly appreciate and recommend this place for working on your vehicles. They have all the tools and all the little things you may need for a project like rivets or hose clamps. All the specialty tools. I also just changed the transmission in my f-150. Much better when you have a lift and cover

I needed to change out the transmission fluid and filter on my car and did an oil change at the same time. This was a perfect place to do both at once. I normally do my oil changes at home but didn't want to tackle the transmission service at home. They had all the equipment to capture all the old fluid and dispose of it. They also had containers to dispose of the old filters. The price is very reasonable to get access to a lift which made this job way easier and a major plus was not putting old oil/fluid in my car to take to the local auto parts store for disposal. If I have to do any other jobs like a brake fluid exchange or a coolant fluid exchange which would be easier on a lift, I will for sure come back. They also had spring compressors for suspension work, 2 post lifts and fans to help make the work on hot days a bit more bearable.

One of the coolest places in Austin. The owner is an old school car guy too, incredible energy in the place. Great for people passionate and knowledgeable about cars and wrenching. If you don’t know much, bring a friend who does because this is the real deal. So expect to be treated and respected as an adult. This is the exact type of place the car community needs. Very good rates and nice lifts too.

The guys are always helpful, and reasonable prices to use a lift! I love that I can work on my vehicle and don't have to lay on my back to do it without owning a lift myself! Did a brake and rotor replacement job. took my sweet time and it was under $100 to use the lift for almost 3 hrs.

This DIY garage is so awesome! This garage has everything you need to get the job done. You have very helpful staff members to assist at any time. As in finding torque specs or helpful tips on stubborn bolts. I was very impressed with the casual, laid back environment. It was so cool to see the different vehicles being worked on. If you have any vehicle maintenance projects and need a place to work, this is your garage. Mark the owner is Fantastic. So call them and reserve your bay today.
