Had a flat tire last Saturday and couldn't find the wheel nut lock stored in trunk. Believe me, I searched high & low. Visited Walnut Creek Honda for help; parts manager referred me to Philip. Said he's 'nice guy'. Phil loaned me his set of sockets for Acura but none of them fit. I guess the key were finely cut with laser and even though they looked almost identical none would fit. To make the story short, I found the pesky black pouch - of all places, in the trunk! Thanks, Phil. If I need service in future I'll definitely think of you.

I called this place two days ago at the suggestion of one of the techs at America’s Tire for a wheel alignment. The guy who answered the phone left me on hold for close to 5 minutes. When he came back to the phone I requested a quote for a wheel alignment. He didn’t ask for anything except my number and said he’d call me back. Never heard from him. I’ll be getting that alignment for my new set of tires elsewhere. What horrible service!

The engine light on my car came on a few weeks ago. I didn't know who to bring my car to, and was fearful of being taken advantage of. I finally made an appointment at a local business only to find they don't do diagnostics. This business then recommended I go to Auto Import Service. I came home read the reviews and called to make an appointment. I arrived today at 1PM, assuming I would leave my car and get a call with the bad news later. Instead, Eric took my car right away and checked it out. Within 10 minutes he brought my car back out and told me that the light had gone on due to a loose gas cap, and that there was nothing wrong. The light just needed to be reset. When I asked how much I owe, he told me "nothing." I couldn't have been more surprised. Needless to say I will be taking my cars here for any future service they may need. I am so happy to have found a place I can trust. THANK YOU!

I needed to replace my Lexus Hybrid battery fan. I went to the dealership (which was a mistake) and they quoted me some outrageous amount to replace it. I called Auto Import Service and spoke with Phil. He quoted me a very competitive and reasonable price. He quickly got me scheduled for the service and did a great job! We've had both bad and good experiences here. After our last experience (after management changed) and taking it to a different shop, we won't be back to this one. The new shop found two issues that very likely existed during the last visit to Import. Both issues had to do with the exhaust manifold, which had to be replaced entirely. When we brought it in to Import, we requested that the car be looked over as fully as possible and reasonable, due to the high mileage and odd noises. And that whatever repairs needed doing, to notify us and then do them. They said it was ready for pickup and it was fine. When my husband got there, it was another story. He was told the brakes were shot, the bearings were dry and needed attention, and that's it. He was charged $800. For WHAT? An oil change? I don't know why my husband paid such a bs charge. Obviously they didn't look at anything too hard. The things they told us, we already suspected. You can drive a car for a half mile and be able to tell that. I guess they also didn't feel like actually providing a service for payment. I don't know if management has changed again since then. But for us it really doesn't matter. This new shop we went to is A+ professional and far more reasonable in their pricing. Hopefully no one else ends up with getting piss-poor service and being overcharged. On top of having what could have been a cheaper fix, had it been caught sooner, become more costly and problematic.

This team is the best. They were most willing to help me with an issue that was caused by another shop, and that too at a reasonable price. Despite the fact that they work on pretty fancy cars, there was no arrogance of any sort. The mechanic Nuvelle (I hope I am spelling the name correctly) and the shop manager Kelly were very thorough and patient, and fixed the issue quickly. All said and done, I was in and out in 30 min with a very reasonable charge. This is in contrast to another local shop in Brentwood (that I will not name) which gave me a hard time after they heard that I was requesting them to take a look at the work done by another shop (and therefore likely they were not going to have a big bill for me). They wanted me to leave the car and charge me $200 just to diagnose. In contrast, after listening to my story and witnessing the anguish, AIS took my car in right away. Very empathetic and truly a torch-bearer of the small community culture in Brentwood, in addition to being a very capable shop. Thank You!

A week ago I made an appointment for my Mercedes Metris. I was searching for a garage that worked on Mercedes vehicles that was closer than the dealership. I had extensive conversation with the person who made the arrangements. I asked what was required at 45k miles. I was told the service required was going to be in excess of $1700. I verified the appointment the day before and said they used genuine Mercedes parts. I shared with her my concern as I had spoken with the dealer who said sometimes garages said they did but in fact didn’t which could result in damages down the road. The woman shared she was a former employee of Stockton Mercedes and acted as though she knew her business. I showed up today at the scheduled time for my appointment. She came out of the office to meet me only to tell me she didn’t think my car would fit on the racks she had. I asked if she could measure to be sure. After much discussion with the owner about which rack and the appropriate angle etc. it was determined they weren’t equipped either physically or mentally to handle it. I of course was angry that they had plenty of time to prepare and didn’t even once ask about my car. One would think if you were in the garage business you might know the vehicles you intend to book. Oh. One more thought, the principal said he could get the car on the lift but wouldn’t be able to get it backed off the lift! I lost my cool at that point and asked for my key back. If one can get it on one should be able to back it off. This was totally absurd ! And you think I want to do business!! Not! Beware.
