Outstanding facility, thought prices were a little high 6.00 every .5hr should have been 8.00 hr... daily rates could cost you on a long duration project

Great workshop, as well as knowledgeable staff. But don't start any lengthy projects unless you have deep pockets because a stall can run you somewhere between $50-100 a day

Dave was great! It was my first time there and he let me know how to use the lift and how everything worked. He even took a look at my car with my when my repair went awry at one point.

Couldn't have fixed my car without this place. Got the help I needed, when I needed it. Got the tools I'm too poor to own 😆 and the years experience I needed when I felt stumped. Come on down and fix your car. You'll get lucky and see some really nice cars.

Cost 28.00 to do oil change and tire rotation. I had to do all the work plus buy oil and filter. Not as good a deal like years ago. Ever since the gas prices were raised the base and exchange haven't been as good a deal.

Pricey place to do your own work. Not as good as they used to be years ago. $30 to rent a stall to replace a cracked rim with no assistance on tire/wheel equipment. Walked right across the street to Firestone $18.95 plus free scraping, out within an hour. No brainer!

If you enjoy the benefit of coming to the hobby shop, you are blessed. This place is awesome, always clean, very knowledgeable employees work there and best of all ...they are always willing to help when you need it the most.

I love the benefit of using the auto center on base. I enjoy working on my car and saving money in the process. Only thing I don't like is as a retiree I pay double to use the lift per hour then active duty personnel. I'm all for the benefits that AD personnel get off base. But why should retirees have to pay more for onbase resources.

I always come to change my oil in my car there. Facilities are great, and personnel are very helpful. They had all the tools I needed to get the job done. Very impressive!

Went there to perform steering component insoection. Decided to put vehicle on maintenance lift for better viewing. Lead mechanic helped teach and show me operation and safety of lift (my 1st time using lift). When I finished I cleaned my area, took a picture and displayed it to the check-in/out person. I paid a very affordable $8 and departed.

Decent place, compared to other USMC Auto Skills shops it is far behind. Staff either lacks willingness to assist or is restricted in doing so. Don't get me wrong they are a bunch of great folks...its just my comparison from my experiences. A bit overpriced also when compared to other skills shops but almost anything controlled by MCCS is now. If you know what your doing and don't require assistance it can be a great place to save time and money.

Have had a relatively good experience here. Equipment is in good condition and plenty of tools to work with. The techs are also pretty friendly and willing to help as well. However, I've been here a handful of times and notice the Asian lady working the front desk always in a nasty mood..Witnessed her raising her voice at a customer.

Good clean facility, tools and equipment in good shape. A bit pricey for a DOD benefit facility, but cheaper than the outside. Biggest complaint is you have to know where you are going to get there. Road off the main gate is closed so you have to go around and if you don’t know where it is you’ll never find it.

Everything is pretty much great till it comes to the prices. It’s about 8 dollars an hour for a lift, which is not bad but I got charged 25 dollars just to park my car in one spot that doesn’t even have a lift or anything for one day.

The staff at MCAS Miramar are some of the best I have encountered since buying my Chevelle and rebuilding it. From knowledge and actually HELPING you get your job done they unmatched, in my opinion, with the other hobby shops in San Diego.

Have all the parts and tools I need, to do myself maintenance, recommend getting there early on the weekend as it fills up pretty fast. Knowledgeable staff. They don't charge for use of tools, which is a nice plus.

Only $4 per hour to rent a stall. This includes use of their vast collection of tools and expert advise. Great deal and great work environment.

Chris, Nate, Ping and Caitlyn are so awesome. I was so impressed of how much the equipment has been updated. Great place to keep your vehicles running great….I had fond memories of being at the auto hobby shop with my father overseas. I got to continue the memories with my son working on his truck. We replaced the entire front end suspension components…from the wheels all the way into the control arms bushings, we saved ourselves a couple of thousand dollars versus going to a mechanic. This is a vital place for the base to boost morale and hone skills and save money in an already price conscious economy. Keep finding this place. It is amazing.

Best place to work on your vehicles! Staff is awesome and very helpful, easy going with chill vibes, the kind you want when working on your vehicles. Come here before ever going to the Camp Pendleton Auto Skill. They’re rude at that location.
