I spent $700 on a part thinking it was the reason my car would not start. And had to wait until pay day to pick it up. Picked it up and two days later my car is doing the exact same thing. And then they tell me I need a battery. Well why did I spend $700 to only need a $100 plus battery? IM FURIOUS!!

Took my car to Dave thinking it would cost hundreds of dollars to get back on the road. So much so, I put it off in fear of how much it would cost. To my pleasant surprise, I got a call the day after taking it to Automatic's saying it was ready. WOW ! Thank god, the cost was reasonable, and I am happy to say I will be bring any vehicle I own back to Dave for any and all auto repair needs. Highly recommend.

My experience at Autometrics was a very positive one. One day the air stopped working in my car. Two places gave me quotes that ranged from $300 to as far up as $700 providing it was the harnass that had to be replaced. The first place said it was the wires that needed to be replaced at $400 and the second place said the wires and blower motor had to be replaced. I could not afford any of that. I drove for a few weeks without air in Florida. A co-worker referred me to Dave and Bobby at Autometrics. Within ten minutes of arriving, they replaced a fuse at no charge and I drove off with my air working. I am so appreciative that they genuinely went out of their way to help. Its been almost fifteen years ago since I had my first experience with Autometric of Tampa Bay. At the time I was new to the area and I had found myself with a busted radiator and a blown engine and no where to turn to. Upon arriving at Autometric I was pleasantly greeted by the owner Dave, who has more than proven time and time again he is a mechanic one can trust, fully honest and dependable. Dave has always been fair in price and up front with any mechanical issues, never selling you something you don't need just to up the price. Through the years Autometric has worked on all of our family vehicles both foreign and domestic, from major service issues (a full engine rebuild), to tires, to oil changes, etc., there is no one I trust more to keep my family safe on the road. Unlike corporate enterprise auto-repair shops where staff comes and goes and could care less if your car still has issues, both Dave and Bobby have been providing excellent and reliable service for far back as I can remember. They take pride in what they do and their work truly speaks for itself. I highly recommend the team at Autometric, thank you Dave and Bobby for the past fifteen years of truly excellent service. Autometric is awesome! GREAT old fashioned mechanics who know cars and their various pieces and their workings really well. They don’t just rely on an electronic test and hand you a huge bill for a mysterious diagnosis. They actually look at, and if needed, disassemble parts to get you true repair or replace option. Highly recommended!!!!!

to start they told me the work could be as much as $6000. but they would give me an estimate. but then didn't give me an estimate till they were 80% done. in the the original repair scope the turbo was to be replaced and it wasn't. then they anounced they were done and sent me a $7500. bill which upset me .I needed my truck back it had been a week. told him he needed to lower the bill and so he gave a whole $200 off. since then I'm in my second repair of things they repaired and more time down for my truck. And I already know there's more repairs coming to repair their repairs. I've got turbo hoses popping off from pressure that never did before and a louder brake exhaust sound that scares anything near by with the new sound it makes. it is against the law for them not to give a written estimate before starting the work Don't let this happen to you.

Did a great job on installing a rear brake caliper. They adjusted the parking brake nice and tight so I just have to press the pedal slightly and it fully engages. Helps a lot as I have a steep driveway. Friendly, personable guys who take the time to explain repairs and possible solutions. I've had other work done there before and never had a problem. They called me when the part I supplied was incorrect and asked before proceeding to correct the issue. Will return for future repairs.

My experience with Auto Metric has unfortunately been very disappointing. Shortly after purchasing an “as-is” car, we discovered the windshield wipers were not working. When we brought this up, the dealership helped fix this claimed they had purchased a new replacement part. However, we later learned that the specific fuse box module for the wipers cannot be bought new — instead, they sourced one from a junkyard and charged the price of a new part. During this repair, they also reinstalled the cowl backwards, which means the car is no longer properly sealed against water. On top of that, they left the hazard lights on, completely draining the battery. Rather than taking responsibility, they told my sister to “just run the car” to recharge it. Once a battery is fully drained, however, its chemistry is damaged, and sure enough the battery would no longer hold a charge and needed to be replaced. When asked to make it right, Auto Metric claimed they were “not responsible.” This is unacceptable. An “as-is” sale applies to the condition of the car at the time of purchase, not negligent service work afterward. Because of this, we are now facing around $800 in additional costs directly tied to their poor-quality repair and mishandling. If Auto Metric contacts us to resolve this issue, I will update this review. If not, I will be filing a complaint with their insurance company regarding the damage caused. Buyers beware.
