My engine seized up, while I was visiting family in Lynchburg, and I had my vehicle towed to Bell's Automotive. Their pricing, to replace the engine, was exceptionally lower than what the dealership quoted. They were able to locate an engine and install it within a week. I'm so glad my sister recommended this place.

Generally happy with service, but I won't go back for state inspections. If you fail for something simple like tires they won't be able to schedule a timely follow up and you will have to start over and pay again.

Started taking my car to Bell's auto about 3 weeks ago. !! They listened to my complaint and have done a motor mount and an oil change ! I have been totally and completely happy with their work and pleased with the work quote ! The technicians and office staff are very nice and respectable people !! So happy I decided to change where I was going to ! I give this business 5 stars as a place everyone needs to bring their auto to for repair or upkeep !!

After forty years with Bell’s Automotive I have never been let down. First and most importantly; very honest, professional/kind employees (who I can call friends), records kept on all my repairs. Meaning they can quickly asset if there is a issue or not. Tim has also checked out every car I’ve ever purchased. Two of which I purchased from Bell’s. I’ve been burnt twice badly because I was looking for a someone closer. That won’t happen again, I’ll drive the thirty miles to make sure I have any issues corrected. You can’t beat Bell’s Automotive!!!! A quote “ Pay me now or pay me later”!.

I took my 2005 VW Turbo Diesel in for a Courtesy Check. I was not having any problems, but it had been awhile since the car had a good check, and Bell's is close to where I live. Ricky called me and said there were 5 items that needed to be corrected. The total for labor and parts was $1,441.22. He knew I had not expected such problems. I thanked him and said due to the unexpected expense I wanted to get another opinion. I picked up the car and paid for the courtesy check, $61.11. Several days later I took the car to another service center and had a similar multi-point inspection. The mechanic did not find anything wrong with the car. One thing I didn't understand was that Ricky said my oil was very black. It was changed in June 2021. I do not do much driving now that I am retired. The mechanic at the second service center said that it is usual for diesel oil to turn black after several hundred miles. The staff I met at Bell's were very nice, polite, but I will not take my car to Bell's again.

Bell’s was recommended to us by our family. We had van door motor and cable replacement and a driver door hinge replacement. The customer service was very good from start to finish. They had to order a few parts for our repair but made sure to keep us up to date on what was going on. The repairs were finished in a timely manner. Bell’s is one of the best repair shops we have been to in Lynchburg. If you need vehicle maintenance or repair take it to Bell’s.

Bell's did my annual check up and 100,000 mile check for me last week and I had another great experience. They helped me diagnose and supported me selling a problem car a couple years ago and have been with me and my Civic since pre- purchase inspection. Tim always checks in with me if I need anything and to ensure the car is running well and their services are top notch. They were originally recommended by a mechanic-friend which says a lot to me and I completely agree with the recommendation!

Here's the recap. We had brought an old VW bug up there to be assessed for condition and what work needed to be done. I made an appointment and had it towed there the evening before. I called in follow up a few days later after not hearing anything. I was told that they needed to work it in and after it being there a week it finally got in (what's the point of making an appointment?). Put it on lift and called us with concerns. We were heading back into town and stopped in to discuss with Ricky who stated that front end had some issues and it would be next to impossible to get replacement parts We get that and have looked into other options to address. We knew it had been sitting a while and expected concerns. We asked for possible estimate for things that could be fixed (didn't get that) and since no pics were taken when it was put on lift, we asked him to put back up to get some pics. That took maybe a week longer(can't remember) and the woman sent me some pics and I was also able to come up and look and take some pics too. That was the best part of my experience. From there we scheduled to have it towed back home. The bill from your shop I think was $500. I'd have to double check that. I went back by office to get the key a day or two after it was towed home and again spoke with Ricky. I explained that we understood that it needed significant repair and that we'd make some calls and check our options. I expressed we never got any kind of estimate on other repairs needed as requested and that I felt like we paid $500 (including $100 tow each way) to put on the lift twice. He said he would check with the staff and get back to me on what else was done and would get back to me. I never heard back from him. So this is my long way of saying I don't think we'll be going back.
