I dropped my car off for a pre purchase inspection, before purchasing. I was given very professional, friendly service! They have a great deal of knowledge about Japanese cars and were able to find specific things of concern before purchase. I got a very fair evaluation for $120 and 20 minute phone call afterwards to discuss his findings and any questions I may have. I was purchasing the car out of state and had to rely on his judgement. Boise Foreign Car met all of my expectations and when I arrived to buy the car I was not surprised by anything out of the ordinary. I would gladly use Boise Foreign Car Service again!

Everyone has a favorite auto shop but, if your looking for a shop this is the one. Clean, professional, real humans you can actually talk to. They will take the time to explain what's needed. More than fair pricing. Have always helped us out when the unexpected happens. I recommend them to absolutely everyone I know. The best auto shop I have ever used. Just started taking my Camry there and it was a great experience!! Fast, reasonable prices, and the owners Tom and Tammy were delightful to deal with. Tom had me go out in the shop to check a seeping steering rack that the dealer I was going to never mentioned?. But then instead of selling me a new rack he mentioned that he would just check the rack each time I was in and if it got worse change it out at that time? Who does that any more!! I highly recommend the Boise Foreign car!!!

Tom and Tammy are incredible people to work with. Whenever I call in with a question or concern with my vehicle , they take time and care with me, even if I don’t end up needing work done at the shop. Just today the catalytic converter was stolen off my Prius and before I knew that was the issue, I called to talk to Tom. By listening over speaker phone to the horrible sound of my car, he knew the issue right away and advised me on how I could safely drive to his shop. I always feel I’m in good hands with them, trust their wisdom and judgment, and how they aren’t pushy at all when it comes to getting unnecessary repairs. It can be tough to find a solid, reliable mechanic who is fairly priced with excellent customer service, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this is the shop for you!

VERDICT: I highly recommend for the foreign car owner. EXPERIENCE: They are prompt and professional, yet they squarely embody every likeable feature of being a quintessential family operation, from kind staff and knowledgeable staff to the inter-staff demeanor and occasional banter. The facility is clean and well setup, should you need to wait for your car to be serviced. Both quality and prices have been better than previous shops I've had service my vehicles.

Hands down the most honest mechanic shop you could ask for. I know that Tom and Tammy are never ripping me off and only doing what my car needs, never upselling me on unncessary services. I will be a customer for life because of the following story: Last summer when I was driving my kids by myself to Lake Tahoe and my car started making a funny sound when I was in the middle of nowhere, sort of near Winnemucca. I have always had all my work on the car done at Boise Foreign Car so I called to ask for advice if I should turn around, get the car checked out in Winnemuca or if I could keep driving in the dead heat of summer alone with my 4 kids to our family reunion in Tahoe. Tom got on the phone with me, asked me a bunch of questions about the noise the car was making, and then told me he felt confident I could keep driving safely on my trip and to just stop by the shop next week to get the car looked at! I safely made the trip without a problem and felt so relieved after having Tom's blessing to continue on my vacation. My husband and I have taken our three cars to Tom for almost 15 years and we won't go anywhere else! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is the best shop I’ve ever worked with. Tom and his team do too notch work, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to keep our Toyotas on the road.
