C&B Auto in Lancaster, PA: Unethical and Untrustworthy Operation First one-star rating ever given. C&B Auto approached me and asked to purchase my vehicle and waive the cost of the emissions testing service performed on it. I agreed to make this transaction happen. I explained that I would keep insurance on the vehicle until the transaction went through and asked to schedule a time to swop the title, while C&B Auto continued to kept our keys for the car.. 3 months. I called (and personally visited), multiple times a month - for 3 months - to schedule or immediately perform the title transfer. They kept saying, “this week”, “next week” and even “maybe this evening”. But would never call back to confirm. The end result, after 3 months of insurance payments, time and effort on our part to transfer the title, and vehicle out of our possession, my wife and I had to make something else happen, so we sold it to someone else who was in genuine need of a vehicle. When the vehicle sold, C&B Auto then calls for the first time and says they are ready to transfer today. After I said it is sold, they said “well, you owe us for the emissions.” I explained our costs of insurance and vehicle unavailability while it sat for three months and they will not budge on waiving that service fee. Ethically, C&B Auto should be waiving the emissions testing cost for holding our vehicle for 3 months and resisting the transfer. Honestly, C&B Auto should have called when they said they would call and schedule when they said they would schedule. There was no need for three months to pass with no resolve.

Dropped my truck off on a Thursday and was expecting the job to be done that day but it wasn’t and had to wait till Monday to pick it up. What was supposed to be 4-5hrs of work turned to be 10hrs so I ended up having to pay double.. Rip offs never going back there Very Unprofessional

My cars are serviced by Elm since 2013. Always honest. I can leave my car there and get the call from Elm later and I have no doubts about his findings…..time, parts, etc. Elm is a self respected mechanic that takes pride on his work and he likes what is he doing. I am european and I see him as a german type of mechanic…..no much talk….straight to the point…..if he can’t do something he will tell you or recommend you something that is matching his values.
