Very satisfied with the work and communication at Caliber. It took a long time for a part to come in for my vehicle, but they kept me informed on the timing and they completed the repair a few days earlier than they thought it would take. They handled communication with the insurance company paying for the repair. Would highly recommend.

Spectacular Service and Genuine Kindness! I had an incredible experience at Caliber Collision, and I can't thank General Manager William and his team enough. I came in with a broken hinge on the hatchback —something I was worried would be a complicated and costly repair. But William greeted me with warmth and professionalism, putting me at ease. To my amazement, he promptly had one of his staff fix it on the spot! The level of care and efficiency was outstanding. Even more surprising—William refused to charge me for the work. In a time when good customer service often feels like a thing of the past, this act of generosity and integrity meant the world to me. This kind of service goes far beyond expectations. Caliber Collision has earned not just my trust, but my lasting appreciation. If you're looking for a shop that treats you with respect, gets the job done right, and genuinely cares—look no further. Thank you again, William. You and your team are truly a class act.

Giving them an A+ for customer service; a '''B" for quality of repair. The replacement hood was installed carefully but it didn't quite match the gaps of the original very well. Good color match. Manager had to handle my case when one of his estimators quit suddenly. He took minimum time to jump on my repair. He's a resourceful manager and his communication and empathy skills went a long way to making this work. Gave a thoughtful and accurate answer to all my concerns. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a competent, honest experience.

Excellent service throughout the entire repair process. I had pretty extensive damage to the frame of my Jeep after an accident and went through various complications with my insurance. Front desk staff were overwhelmingly kind the entire time and promptly answered questions regarding the status of repairs once they were underway. You don't generally come across folks who are patient enough to take the time to explain every detail, etc. for big jobs. Mr. Tibb's was very communicative and straightforward about the timeline. Considering how busy they were, I'm grateful for everyone's time and effort. Top of the line work and top quality service. These are genuine folks. Our Jeep looks brand new and I couldn't be happier with the outcome!

I highly recommend Caliber Collision on Avon St Ext. The entire staff from the front desk to the General Manager were very helpful. They walked me through the process and made sure that everything that was fixed was to my liking.

I cannot recommend Caliber enough. From the initial phone call, when their knowledgeable staff helps you navigate the intentionally obtuse insurance process, to the clear updates on your vehicle while it’s being serviced, all the way to the exceptional work they do, Caliber is unparalleled in Charlottesville. We’ve brought our vehicle here twice after someone’s hit it. And each time the experience was friendly, efficient, professional, and reasonably priced. We had such a good experience the first time that when All State did not list them as one of their vendors, we took extra steps to make sure they would work with Caliber, who handles most of the insurance nonsense for you anyway.

I had old damage to the front of my car, then got into an accident that left the rear of my car crushed. I had a great experience at Caliber Collision! They were professional, thorough, & thoughtful. Their work was pristine, with attentiveness to small details. I’m thoroughly impressed by the way my car looks; seriously top notch work and customer service. Totally exceeded my expectations! Shout out to Aaron who called me regularly to give me a status update on my car!

Follow up from previous review. I picked up my car. The paint job was the wrong color. I took it to another Caliber Collision and they agreed. They have to repaint it and fix what this shop did. They also said this wasn’t the first car to be messed up at Avon and not the first car they have had to fix from the Avon location. When I showed the GM, at Avon location, that it was wrong - he argued with me and then finally admitted it wasn’t right. He offered for me to leave it so they could fix it and I declined. He said “sorry about that” and left. I reported it all to my insurance company and encouraged them to take this location off of their list. Do not bring your car here.

Have hit two deer this year (actually they ran into me!). In both cases went to Caliber on Avon St, a partner with State Farm, for a no hassle repair. Never seen such a considerate and efficient body shop. I got frequent updates by email and any questions I had were answered immediately. The work was flawless. I ended up with a door sensor problem shortly after my second claim, but not related to the deer. As a customer courtesy, they are fixing it as I wait for a very nominal fee. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Would shout out names, but EVERYONE I have dealt with has been excellent.

This was the worst customer service experience I've had. The repair of the vehicle was fine...but, the customer service engagement was abysmal. On 21 JUL, I took my vehicle for assessment/estimate for minor bumper and side mirror damage - parts needed to be ordered, so schedule for repair starting 4 AUG - which was estimated to take 3 weeks and be completed 22 AUG. No issue, it is (thankfully) not a daily driven vehicle. Minimal communication until I called on 21 AUG to understand when it would be compete, was then told 26 AUG - again, thankfully not a daily driven vehicle...otherwise significant costs incurred. Bad comms - from 5 stars down to 4. Was told the side mirror wasn't received in time upon pick-up (bad comms - down to 3.5 stars)...but still had to pay my full deductible and Caliber received full payment from insurance. I was told it would still be a few weeks and would be contacted when it was in. Multiple weeks go by, nothing heard - call Tyler and was told "oh yeah, that's what that part was for, let me find it and call you back." (down to 3 stars). I call back a few days later (2.5 stars) and was told they can't find it, need to order a new one...Tyler will call me when it comes in. (2 stars) Multiple weeks go by, nothing heard - call Tyler and was told the "1st one ordered" (really the 2nd one) was damaged and they had to order another. (look, things happen...but, again...bad comms...1.5 stars). I call again (you're seeing the trend now) and was told the mirror is in, just waiting for painting. To which I say "I've been waiting 3+ months for this...I'd like to think this is a priority". (1 star...apparently it doesn't go lower than that) I dropped the vehicle off Thanksgiving week and picked it up the weekend after. I was happy to not have to interact with anyone at the office. Will NEVER utilize this or another Caliber Collision in the future. VERY glad that Caliber wasn't able to work on my daily-driver EV and I used Taylor's Auto Body Shop - will take my vehicles there (knock on wood) going forward.

Pete the mechanic and the desk staff had me covered at every turn of our repair process. It's felt like a old school customer mechanic relationship where they treated me like they genuinely cared deeply of my needs first and foremost. Their communication with my insurance company was seamless and simple and the entire process was as painless as one could expect or hope for in today's world. I never take the time to do these surveys but I feel strongly in this one. 10 of 10!

Staff were polite and communication during the repair process was good. Unfortunately, there were several quality control issues that impacted my experience. At pickup, I found the bumper was not installed correctly and the replacement headlamp was scratched, which required leaving the vehicle for corrections and returning later. After taking the car home, I noticed primer overspray on the hood and windshield and had to return the following day for cleanup. I later noticed uneven paint texture on the newly painted bumper, which raises concerns about long-term durability. While the shop addressed issues when pointed out, these problems should have been caught during final inspection. Overall, the repeated quality misses significantly reduced my confidence in the repair.

Quality shop! Did great on my Volkswagen beetle. Work was done well and in a timely manner, matched the paint perfectly, and they kept me in the loop throughout the process. All very friendly staff. I can definitely recommend this shop!

Everyone was very friendly and informative through the whole process. I recieved many text messages updating me how the process was going. They gave me a fair estimate of time to repair my car and finished it early. They garentee their work for the life of the ownership of the car! They do a walk through before and after with you making sure they note all damage you want fixed and to make sure its fixed to your liking. If you have questions anytime during the process they dont get irritated (like others ) if you ask. I had a very positive experience

My insurance has a contract with Caliber Collision and the one in Richmond that I have used in the past was great - easy to work with and returned my car to me in a relative decent amount of time. This Caliber Collision on Avon in Charlottesville is awful. They have had my car for over a month. The damage was not that extensive at all (my son hit a deer and just a portion of it needed to be fixed). But they painted it the wrong color so had to redo it. So it was not ready when they said it would be. And now they keep telling me it will be done and every day it is not done. So every day I expect to be able to pick it up and it isn't done. And when I ask why it is not done yet, they will not tell me why it isn't getting done. Do not use this shop if you need your car done within a reasonable amount of time and you want it to be done right the first time. I will edit this review if I ever get it back and I have any feedback on the actual work done. In reading some of these reviews on Yelp, I am actually concerned it is going to be awful.

The appointment was easy to schedule and the team was communicative throughout. I appreciated the text updates. The work was well done and delivered ahead of schedule. I could not have asked for more. oh! And they are in relationship with Enterprise, so I was able to drop my rental and pick up my car seamlessly.

Got rear-ended at a stop light. Went here because it was the closest. (Lots of 5 stars too) Waited a couple of weeks for an appointment with a very nice estimator. The repair called for completely replacing the internal bumper and painted cover, plastic brackets that hold the bumper cover, repairing the hatchback, aligning the locks and matching paint. before the car was returned I alerted the staff to a paint problem that caused sharp edge on the bumper cover. Three additional days later, the car was returned with the existing problem unfixed. Twice more the car was returned for the hatchback not closing properly. On the last repair a team of staff tried to fix the latch but only succeed in losing an internal plastic port. Once returned I discovered the bumper cover was coming off the car. Further inspection revealed that one of the original bumper brackets was still broken causing the bumper problem and they tried to use additional screws to hold the cover on. The hatchback is visibly out of alignment and the hinges are loose. At this point, I went back to the insurance company to have these things fixed by a different collision co. One of the several excuses given for poor QC a manager explained that they were not using factory parts and they don't always fit. (Then why did you bill and leave the badly fitting parts on the car ?) The actual problem was the $7 bracket was broken they thought adding an extra screw might fix it. As they have been paid, I was then assured by the management and the insurance co. that the missing and broken parts would be replaced and the hatch back would be aligned to work in a about a week, 2-1/2 weeks later, I have not been given a new appointment. If Caliber calls back with another appointment, this will be my 4th trip back to the shop to have the same problems addressed. I have no idea why the quality control has gone nonexistent and why the staff thought a customer would not notice a loose bumper flapping on I-64 or a hatch that doesn't close on the first try. Yes, we all have bad days and make mistakes, but I kept giving repair experts 3 chances to fix problems. I think they hope the customer will just give up.
