I brought my 2025 Kia Sportage for repairs, a car that i purchased only 4 months ago. Back up lights were out. Dropped car off at 8:30, a few hours passed and not one word from the advisor PAUL. I reached out to him via text and phone multiple times, just asking for a status update. NOT ONE WORD, not one word texting, or a courtesy call just to provide me with any update. So, 7 hours passed and still nothing. I had to call the GM just to get a response from this guy. Customer Service at Plano KIA Service department? R U kidding me, a total joke. Even when i called for the last time, another advisor, JOSE, took the call and basically made me feel like an idiot, like he was talking to a small child, "r u sure there was a problem with the car, we're not seeing anything he said." I advised him that i wouldn't have brought the car in, if there were no problems. he laughed at me. To add insult to injury, they got me an UBER in the morning while they worked on the car. I asked for a pick up UBER, like PAUL ADVISED, and Jose made me feel like an idiot again, "you want us to order you an UBER??" Uh yea, that's what incompetent Paul advised me this morning..." Oh, ok then, if he said that...where do you want us to pick you up?" You can't make this stuff up. This place is a complete train wreck for customer service. I will never get my car serviced or purchase anything from this place again, AND i will encourage other's not to as well.

Got in at 7am! I was the first customer as they open the door. Came in for a check engine light and the attendant said “nothing I can do about this today!” It was 7am with only 1 person in line behind me. Their working hours for the day are 7am to 2pm that’s 7 hours of work and the couldn’t attend a check engine light on a 2021 telluride that is UNDER WARRANTY. Wow talk about bad service. This is super disappointing.

I know you love 5 stars, but if you really want to improve service, here are a couple suggestions. To be clear, service was done and my experience wasn’t horrible. Two things to improve are (1)When guest walks into service department it would be helpful if someone would acknowledge him/her. As a guest, we don’t even know if we’re in the right place! Even if you’re busy it would be nice if someone just acknowledged your presence. (2)My vehicle was in for an oil change and due to a brake issue was in for 3 days. I got a couple of updates on first day, but had to request update on second day and was told it would be ready and then never heard back. Needless to say I was not prepared for 3 days without a car, so more frequent updates with better information would have been helpful.

New to the Kia family! Jose was great and professional I went in for my first oil change and 2 minor recalls. I also needed my door handle fixed and they handled it without any extra major wait time. Shuttle was free and convenient. I will be back. The receptionist (forgot her name but she had great festive holiday makeup! She was friendly and professional as well)

I went to the service center last Saturday for an oil change. Trey Taylor greeted me warmly. He said it wasn't time for an oil change yet so I could drive a little longer to save money. Actually I couldn't remember when I had the oil change. I don't think I reset my car after an oil change. He reset the oil change for me. He was very conscientious, friendly and professional. However, the dealership is currently reconstructing the building, so the surrounding area is very narrow and dangerous. Be careful.

This place is absolutely terrible! STAY AWAY! I dropped my car Monday at 12:30 for an engine diagnostics. They said the car should be ready by Thursday. Okay that’s fine just need my car fixed. Next thing I know ITS FRIDAY! And my car WAS NEVER TOUCHED! I called every day after Monday and each time they said a mechanic was looking at my car. Or my mechanic needed help with looking at my engine. So I decided to drive by Thursday night and my car was parked in the SAME SPOT I LEFT IT! Insane & unprofessional! Will definitely never do business ever again ! They wanted to hold my car hostage FOR WEEKS!

Update: Still a great dealership! Will continue to be a service and sales customer. The service department is honest and very helpful. I heard today they are building a new facility close to their old one. Can't wait to see it! Original: I have been a multiple Kia vehicle owner since 2011 and have always taken my vehicles to their service center. I've always had a wonderful experience with all the staff, from the customer service crew, cashier's and technicians. I've always felt confident they were honest with my maintenance or repairs. Definitely recommend.

Had to swap out a few parts and do recalls on my stinger and they did a CLEAN job. They also cleaned my car inside and out for me. Gave my 2018 car back looking like a new car. 10/10 would reccomend.

10/18/2025 - My service at Clay Cooley Kia Plano was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! I am honestly left in tears and I would never in my life recommend anybody to this shop. You get a boring sticker and dead sharps, not even a quality ocean sticker (Kia Dealership sticker with QR code). Don’t expect for your car to get washed or cleaned, or even a paper mat to be put down, instead expect dirty shoe prints all over your mat when you receive your car back. Plus you can expect that after you get a 20k scheduled maintenance check and multi-point inspection that the next day your car tire will completely explode and all they will say is "that's speculation" or "that's a coincidence." Even with high believe that they either missed something and gave me poor service or that they caused something leading to such a disastrous issue. But everything is about money for them so don’t expect for them to help you. Quality is not their forte. And then had the audacity to say “you can buy a tire from us and we will install it for free.” $100 paid for labor (more than services/ materials paid) just for such boo boo work! Went in October 18th to get my car work completed issue happened on October 19th.

If you love countless lies, being robbed of your money and time, piss poor communication, hostility from individuals that work there, your vehicle to come back in worse shape then you left it, then this place is for you. My vehicle was in maintenance for just under 5 months. During that time, this place has been horrible to deal with and the people that work here are disgusting. My vehicle is under extended warranty, has metal shavings in the oil with a CEL on, they tore the engine down but couldnt figure out where the metal shavings were coming from. They even lied about the CEL being back on when I took it in the second time. They didnt want to tear the engine down any further and if they did they would make me pay for it even though they should have did it the first time. They blammed it on have poor oil consumption and flipping the script so then the extended warranty wouldnt pay for the engine. Just for them to get kia corporate to put a referb engine in it. I was in contact with JM&A the whole time. I got the vehicle back, the shocks went out and the alignment is all jacked up now. They replaced the rear shocks because they said its under a warranty extension but said im SOL on the alignment even though the subframe was removed. This place is a absolute joke, from Emily, Jacob, the Service advisor managers, sales managers. STAY AWAY at all costs. They are money hungry and end up screwing you over at the end.

It's worth driving the 20 extra miles to KIA Huffines to avoid using Clay Cooley. Full story below: We brought our 2016 Kia Sorento to Clay Cooley on a Monday with an appointment scheduled for 11:30 on Tuesday. Only after calling them did we get assigned to a tech on Thursday, only to be told that a diagnosis could take 2-4 days. The following Monday, they called me and told me they couldn't figure it out and asked, "How many days do you want us to hold it and keep trying?". I had lost trust in them and decided to pick my car up that night. The very next morning, the car wouldn't start.... I then took my car to Huffines in McKinney that Wednesday. They had a diagnosis by Wednesday afternoon, and the vehicle was repaired and ready for pick up within 24 hour of me dropping it off. By the way. The issue was the fuel pump. There was a gentleman at Clay Cooley with long hair and a beard at the service desk when I dropped the car off that told me he thought it may have been the fuel pump, but apparently the mechanic didn't share his level of intuition.

Just had my last of several bad experiences with the service department. Consistently poor or no communication. Work always takes longer than they tell you. On more than one occasion, I had to take my car back to fix something that wasn’t broken when I dropped it off. Considering that the relationship with the sales department is only a couple hours, but the relationship with the service department could last years, you’d think there’d be a focus on providing reliable service and maintenance. Unfortunately not here.

Didn’t buy but had a great experience, by far the easiest dealership I’ve dealt with. Marquis my sales rep was honestly the most quick, simple and straight forward guy I’ve worked with and i usually trade in every year which I’ve had horrible experiences at other dealers, will definitely recommend working with Marquis and the dealership.

I scheduled a recall visit for my 2023 K5 in July, but mentioned when I went in that my radio/infotainment screen was acting wonky. They fixed the recall but said I’d need another appt for a diagnostic on the radio and to come in early as the diagnostic would take place from a different time zone. So I scheduled another appt. They determined I needed an update but couldn’t find the thumb drive with the update. Boss was out for the week but they would check with her when she returned to see if she had the thumb drive. No follow-up from the service dept. I eventually called three times over several days and either got no answer in the service dept or left a message with no return call. One day when my husband was going to be near the dealership I asked him to go by and personally discuss the concern and schedule an appt for the radio. He was told that they no longer get the updates on thumb drives and we needed to get on the KIA website and download it and install ourselves. They said we needed the navigation update and that one was “paused” and not available. Six months later, I took my car to Huffines KIA in McKinney. An advisor actually listened to me and diagnosed that the car needed a radio update. They did the update in several hours and all works great now. Do better, Clay Cooley KIA service dept. I’ll continue to drive further to Huffines.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding service I received during my recent car purchase. Special thanks to Alex, who not only provided exceptional assistance in helping my mother buy a car but also ensured she was satisfied with her new Kia Sportage at a fantastic price. His dedication and professionalism made both experiences smooth and enjoyable. I would also like to extend my appreciation to Jet, Renee, and Barry. Their support and expertise made a significant difference, and I truly felt valued as a customer. Thank you all for creating such a positive experience. We look forward to continue this type of service with you. 💗 Warm regards, The Pattersons

We bought our first Kia here in 2010 and then traded it in for a 2014. It was then Central Kia and our experiences with sales were lengthy but we walked away satisfied and got pretty much all we wanted as far as financing goes. I bring this up as I see some less than stellar reviews from others about their experience. You are the customer and have every opportunity to leave the deal if you are not happy. Never sign anything because you are tired because it takes too long. Read the contracts and legalese as many times as you must and question everything. Go in there with an idea of what you want to pay. If it can't be done.. walk away. Central Kia is now Clay Cooley Kia. It's going through a complete modernization and rebuild. The showroom is now cluttered with many dapperly dressed salesman that immediately rush up to you to win your favor and a possible sale. Much more aggressive than the past. State your intentions up front. I drive 60 miles from the North for all our service needs. We have exclusively used this service department for our past and present vehicle. It's important to use a dealer for keeping warranties valid but also shows your vehicle has been taken care of and is an easier sell if ever needed by having a legit service history, plus you get the comfort of knowing it's being done by people that work only on that brand. Take care of your car religiously and it will take care of you. Many Service writers have come and gone. Apparently Emily is there (somewhere) and Paul remains. He took care of Us upon arrival. Advised exactly what would be done and the costs. We had a 60k service done (the expensive $700+ job). Yes our car is 11+ years old with very little mileage and it runs Great. This I attribute to all the dealer serving at 5k intervals. Paul gave our time estimate and also offered a UBER if needed. We were texted when it was done and advised we could also pay by their new app which would save us fee's for credit card usage. Pretty neat. We went and had lunch and the work was finished shortly after. We paid and were on our way. No surprises.. this is why we return again and again even though cheaper prices could be had elsewhere.. We'll take Great Service over headaches.
