The repair ($1400) was for a leak in water pump of a 2015 VW Golf with 100k miles. The technician "DOWNS" delivered the car as ready when it actually had a new gasoline leak caused by the work he had done that day. The fumes were so bad I couldn't drive and had to return it to the shop for further inspection. He had broken a gas pipe and didn't own to his mistake. On top of his poor technical knowledge, he left a tool in the engine bay that could have caused a life threating accident. When I spoke to the manager "NASIFF" asking for a refund on the labor, he refused and said we "don't work like that". The owner "S. GIL" can't be found or contacted. I am ashamed to have a business in Arlington, VA that is so poorly run, that takes advantage of their customers, and doesn't own up to their mistakes.

Horrible service, poor management. I called around 4pm on a Monday, asking if I drop my car off tonight, could you do an oil change tomorrow? Sure, no problem they said, as long as you drop it off by 11pm. I dropped it off at 8pm. I asked the attendant if where I had parked it was ok and he assured me yes, no problem. The attendant filled out a post it note. Yes, I repeat, a post it note, and told me to put my name and number at the top of it. I don’t know why I didn’t leave right then and there. I have had a couple of positive experiences with them in the past and I live right across the street, so I guess I felt comfortable. My mistake. I get home, after watching football and having several drinks down the street, just to sit on my balcony (which conveniently overlooks Citgo), just to watch a tanker pull up. Then the driver of the refill tanker is looking inside my car, the attendant comes out, they’re both looking at it and finally they end up moving it. Make a long story short, it turns out that I was parked too close to the fill-up in the ground and my car had to be moved. Well thank god the driver of the tanker was a great guy, and knew how to drive a stick shift, high performance car, because after the attendant attempted to, the tanker dude realized the attendant had no clue as to what he was doing and ended up moving it himself. As much as I appreciate someone who actually knows how to drive my car being the one to move it, there’s still a problem with that. He is not insured to move stranger’s cars. It is also not his job to do so. He told me he’s been telling them over and over again to NOT have cars parked in that particular spot on Mondays, but they just won’t listen. He says he hates moving cars, because he’s not insured to do so. I was livid. For several reasons. The main one being had I not watched it all happen I would’ve never known about it. What are they doing to your car when you’re not watching?.... So I go downstairs, cross the street and demand a phone number to a manager or owner. I’m told no, it’s too late at night. I tell him I don’t care what time it is and you need to put me in touch with somebody. He finally relents and gives me the owner’s phone number. So I call and wake up the owner, whom I’m told is Gill. I apologize for waking Gill up, calmly explain the situation to him, tell him I no longer trust his establishment and don’t want his services, and I will pick my car up tomorrow and I expect it to still be there. He tells me to get my car off his lot if I don’t want his services. I tell him that it’s completely unacceptable to have unauthorized people drive my car. We end on an unpleasant note. So, it’s now 3:47 in the morning, and I’m waiting for a friend of mine to come move my car, after he gets out of work.

I went there to ask if they could pump some air into my tire, and they kindly said yes, I had no money but they still accepted me. As the employee edgar was pumping air into my tire I said "that's enough", and for him it wasnt and kept on pumping air into it. Later when he saw what he did he started blaming it on me, he said that the tire was wasted and all of that other stuff to get him out of trouble. I left and went home, I called them shortly, they answered and say they will get back to me. I'm still waiting for their call back. (My tire popped") Now they're saying they are not liable for that, worst service ever.

I went here a few years back and the employee I spoke with was being strangely stand-offish, and the minor verbal conflict devolved into me turning around and walking to my car, only to find the mechanic chasing after me, clearly trying to physically attack me. Luckily I made it to my car in time and closed the door, so he just yelled and called out to me to fight him. It was absurd. I’m an adult and I don’t get into random street fights with angry mechanics. So yeah, I haven’t been there since and I definitely won’t ever go back. Plenty of other options, staffed by employees who won’t assault you.

The Cashier there was very rude and spoke profound hateful language at me over parking in the parking lot. Bob &Ediths diner was full of parking and the back side of the building was being blocked by a big F150 where u couldn't make the turn to park in the back of Bob&Ediths diner. My order was a pick up, so maybe 15 mins at the most. I know based on simple respect and courtesy I will never go there again. If he would have asked simply for me to park else where, I wouldn't have had an issue.

I have been coming to this garage for 15 years. I trust Edger, the mechanic, and the manager Nasiff. We always talk things over. I think that is a great quality in a shop. I especially appreciate Edgar, who recently walked me through my new car to familiarize me with everything. Thank you. - Dave

Not sure why the negative reviews since I have found these guys to be the most honest and cost-effective of the mechanics in the area. I have a 2001 Mazda so I have been to a lot of mechanics and these guys have been the most fair that i have seen. Jobs quoted $500-600 elsewhere they did for less than 200. They also tend to be pretty fast and are now my go to shop.

I have been a customer of this citgo for 10+ years and have always received the BEST service. The technicians are very knowledgeable and the prices are very reasonable. They appreciate very personable and helpful. One morning as I was about to leave home for work, my vehicle would not start. The technician came to my house and jumped the battery to get me on my way, and Nasir ordered me a new battery, which was what I needed. Thanks Nasiff on all of your car advice and great service. You are my service station of choice, and all of my staff now bring their vehicles to you too..

I am flabbergasted that other reviewers have said this place is honest. I took my car for a state inspection. Amir (mechanic) called me and told me my rear brake pads were "paper thin" and it would cost $700 to replace. I immediately thought that was odd because my brakes were not very old. I told them not to do any work. I went there and the manager inside told me, "You definitely need to change your rear brakes." I said I would be getting a 2nd opinion. I went to the garage to retrieve my car and the mechanic offered to show me my brakes. I declined, but thought perhaps this showed honesty. My boyfriend and I looked at the brake pads. They were not remotely "paper thin." They were well above the width needed to pass state inspection. I took my car to Metro Motor next door (they have high reviews) and my car unsurprisingly passed inspection. I will definitely be moving forward with filing complaints with the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board and Better Business Bureau. I understand times are hard for businesses, but to scam a person out of $700 is awful, more so the fact that brake pads can be checked. The manager and mechanic lied to me.

Ignore the fake reviews and focus on the legitimate ones. I'm very car-savvy and always stay on top of my vehicle’s maintenance. I stopped by this Citgo location at 2324 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA 22204 for what was supposed to be a routine safety inspection—but it turned out to be anything but that. The individual responsible for inspections handed my vehicle over to a mechanic named Edgar, who is not a certified inspector and, legally, should not be conducting inspections. Edgar proceeded to pull apart the control arm joint rubber cover and then contacted me claiming that the control arm needed to be replaced. This experience was clearly an attempt to upsell unnecessary repairs. I would not recommend this place to anyone—especially if you're not mechanically inclined. They will take advantage of you.

Cheap gas, because they make their money elsewhere. There are no prices are listed on items inside the shop — super shady.

I needed car maintenance at this shop, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. When I arrived, I dealt with a young man working there who was completely unprofessional. It was clear that he didn’t care about helping me or providing any information about the service I needed. What shocked me the most were his racist behaviors toward me. Initially, he completely ignored my questions, and when I tried to talk about the issue, he responded in a condescending manner, as if he didn’t want to waste his time with me. He made hurtful remarks based on my cultural background, which made me feel disrespected. Not only that, but he also laughed at my questions about the maintenance as if I were incapable of understanding car-related issues. He treated others normally, but with me, it was obvious that he was biased. Eventually, I decided to leave the shop without proceeding with the service because I felt unwelcome and that I didn’t belong there as a customer. This negative experience made me decide not to return to this shop, and I will not recommend it to anyone else. If you’re looking for respectful service, this is not the place for you

Great gas station with everything you need. I did my inspection here and the mechanic explained everything clearly, cost was fair, and communication was good. The cashier is friendly too. Perfect service all around and bunch of good drinks , I’ll keep coming back.

I have repeatedly had negative experiences at this location. The inspector in particular is rude, dismissive, and unwilling to properly do his job. The service feels inconsistent and unprofessional. Overall, the environment is unwelcoming and very disappointing.

I usually don’t do reviews, but I had to leave a comment for my experience today at this particular Citgo! The gentleman here were extremely helpful when my vehicle suddenly shutoff and I was able to coast into their lot. They were both so willing to help me and Edgar (the mechanic) was able to figure out exactly what the issue was and got me on my way in no time. They were definitely a Blessing!
