Professional, knowledgeable, willing to take the time it takes to resolve your questions. If you have a classic car, these are the folks you need to see first. Coffee next door is 1st class, so you get two for one!

Joe has a vast knowledge of all types of automobiles and his prices are reasonable for the area. He takes great pains to fix things right the first time and will not do work that is unnecessary. I can't say the same about some other shops in the area. Lee Garlington

Don't get swindled at this shop. My vehicle left in worse condition than when I brought it in... TWICE . With no follow up and no interest in "making it right" They seem to have young kids doing most of the work, they didn't give an estimate prior to doing the work. I had to bring my car elsewhere to fix what they could not.

I visited this shop to give the owner my business card (I sell European car parts in Europe, was visiting the area). He seemed to think in some way he was some superior being and started to be rude telling me I wasn't to disturb the mechanic and I only asked the mechanic what he was doing. I cant remember the owners name I think it started with a J. However I would suggest if this is his jumped up attitude I would not be taking a leak in there let alone a vehicle! It was a little while ago however I still remember him and it annoyed me. Best avoided and thankfully my business is doing well and I do not deal with jumped up guys who think they are something they are not.

Besides knowing their stuff, our 3 experiences have been without flaw. From assessing damage, to routine service all was courteous and honest. I say honest because after a dealer informed us a car needed a $5000 repair we had Classic take a look...$400 later the vehicle runs better than new. Shame, shame on the dealer, but Hooray for Classic!

This is an immaculate, well managed, high end, specialty auto garage. They service exotic, performance, and luxury automobiles. Joe makes a great effort to properly diagnose and service delicate cars that may be difficult for other shops in town. He offers premium parts and service for premium automobiles. His dedicated team also repair cars - so if you drive one of those and live nearby, he can take care of you as well. I appreciate his candor and diagnostic savvy when I've got a difficult to diagnose issue. He can get to the truth without spinning my wheels like a dealership service department. Thumbs up!

Exceptional Service That Goes Above and Beyond From the moment misfortune strikes and your vehicle succumbs to a breakdown, the stress and uncertainty can be overwhelming. It's during these trying times that you need a reliable, understanding, and proficient team to take the reins and guide you through the repair process. This is precisely what I experienced at Classic Coach Works in Monterey. Having your daily life interrupted by a vehicle issue is never pleasant, but the owner and his team at Classic Coach Works not only understand this—they are experts at easing your worries. Their approach to automotive repair is akin to watching skilled magicians at work; they transform what seems like a vehicular tragedy into a mere pit stop on your life's journey. Patience is a virtue, especially regarding car repairs, which the team at Classic Coach Works values deeply. They take the time to meticulously diagnose and fix the problem, ensuring your car is returned to you in top-notch condition. It's not just about the repairs—the peace of mind that comes with knowing your vehicle is in the hands of professionals who care. Trusting someone with your car, especially under unexpected and stressful circumstances, can be daunting. However, placing your trust in Classic Coach Works is not a leap of faith; it's a calculated decision that rewards you with exceptional service and quality workmanship. They don't just fix cars; they restore your rhythm of life, getting you back on the road as swiftly and smoothly as possible. In a world where the unexpected can throw you a curveball, it's comforting to know that there are still businesses like Classic Coach Works. Their dedication to going above and beyond is not just a service promise—it's their standard. For anyone facing car troubles in Monterey, I wholeheartedly recommend letting the owner and his team work their magic. You'll be thankful you did.

I was walking with my toddler son and dog this afternoon in Downtown Monterey, and we happened to pass by this auto shop on the corner. They have little cars displayed in their windows - and being a car obsessed 2 year old, my son gestured wanting the toys. As I was explaining that they were on display for the shop, the owner paused in the middle his interaction with a customer and comes out with a basket of toy cars to let my son pick a car out. I cannot remember the last time someone has paused to notice the want of another, granted their wish and gave them so much joy in a small act. It made my son's whole day. There's no way the owner could have known that I am a car collector, and someone who is extremely choosy about who I let work on my own cars. Based on attention to detail, e.g. keeping an eye on the shop, the customers inside, and a little 2 year old potential customer outside!. plus the immaculate level of cleanliness & organization, the caliber of cars being serviced, and the demeanor of the employees who appear to be happy and relaxed (you do not want a place where technicians are rushed through repairs as fast as possible to move on to the next) I would use this shop myself. Signed, Mom and a pint-size Porsche owner

Great shop!!! Joe took in my old scrappy BMW 5 series and put it up between an Aston Martin and a Bentley. They explained all the work performed and identified several critical issues and why they recommended further service. I was ultimately charged for 2 hours of labor when they worked on it for easily 5 to 6. Lots of parts already in stock; fast and professional service. Nice to know I have a shop in Monterey I can trust!!!

This is THE place to bring your vehicle if you’re not going to bring it to the dealership, and especially if you’ve got a classic car. We’ve brought our Porsche and classic Land Rover and have been satisfied (and relieved) every time. It doesn’t hurt that the shop always has at least a handful of amazing classics at any given time, so it’s a fun place to visit. Most importantly, they know what they’re doing and they’ll do it right. Everyone at Classic Coachworks takes pride in their work, at least that’s the impression I’ve gotten after talking to a handful of the people that work there.

Avoid this mechanic shop I had this shop working on my car and while they were working on it they broke part that was not part of the repair that my car needed. When I went to have them fix the part the owner was really rude and was blaming me for coming when they are closed. There was no sign that they were closed and he was working on car. I never saw someone working with customers acting that rude. And this was owner, who was giving me aditude and blaming me for the fact that his employees broke the part on my car. Please avoid this shop

While visiting Monterey for Car Week with my son (after leading a four day rally from Seattle), my GT4 through an Engine Control Fault two days prior to the drive home. The staff at Classic Coachworks were amazing! I stopped by and they fit me in to do a quick scan to ensure I was OK for the drive home. Incredible service, I can’t thank them enough.
