I recently had my 2019 Tiguan in for its 160K service. All the necessary services were performed to my satisfaction. My service advisor Alex TREBER kept me well informed at each stage of the process. The service was performed in a reasonable time. I will continue to use this dealership for my VW services.

Update: Unfortunately had to change my review. Everyone was great until they got the sale. I didn’t get a copy of my contract (they send it via email) and was told I would eventually receive it. Never did. I call/emailed but they take 24 hours to respond. I eventually had to drive over and get my contract printed. If that wasn’t enough they incorrectly filed my loan application, was informed by Volkswagen financial. I was even given the email to the finance manager Abraham and he never replied (not surprised). Volkswagen had to step in and correct the application. If you buy a car just hope you don’t have to go back. Best dealership in the DFW! I am so happy to have been to Clay Cooley Richardson. From the beginning you are treated amazing. Everyone is super friendly and they make sure you are taking care of. I worked with Mark and he is the best in the business! Will be a customer for life.

This dealer waited over a month to payoff my trade causing me to have to make a payment on my new vehicle AND the vehicle I no longer had possession of. Called Countless times, hoping for a resolution and was ghosted every time. Sales manager is rude and needs a hair transplant. Finally, after months, they paid off my car and refused for weeks to refund me the payments I made while they were screwing around in the finance department. When they got around to refunding me for my payments that I was making on a car that they owned, they refunded me less a bullshit transfer fee, which would have never existed if they had paid my car off when I traded it in. Don’t bother with this dealer. Clay Cooley of Park Cities is a short drive away and a much better option. Edit: If the dealer wishes to respond to this appropriately you will not comment underneath this acting like you’re sorry you will reach out to me directly.

Very bad experience over all! Went Saturday November 15th looking into a pickup I’ve been looking for. Process with the salesman was easy but I do felt sorry for him the lack of support from his GM Patrick and overall bad training was astonishing. I never spoke with the “finance department” even though I was already approved by my financial institution, that made the deal and process worst like they’re against that! That’s when the issues started, the truck wasn’t ready (missing a good detail and the tire pressure light was on, not a big day I was serious and ready to make a deal) None of their flyer on the salesman desk explain the the clay cooley family guarantee and auto nations warranty shown everywhere and said it comes with ALL NEW AND USED VEHICLE come to be that it is only for used vehicles with no more than 80,00 miles (I was purchasing a truck with 100,000 miles) We negotiated a prices of around $27,500 out the door mind you, this is a long back a forth by the salesman no the finance guy for about 2 hours then I agreed on their price and I request the detail, second set of key and to look into the tires pressure light to be fix ( which is a safety issue and dealer needs to fix before selling). It was agreed and I even put $1000 down to help me a little with the payments it was never asked by the dealer with the salesman as the middle point again never spoke with someone above to agree face to face on that! Of course I didn’t not took possession of the truck right there an them because there was a couple of thing needs to be done they told it would take a couple of hours and I should be able to pick it up. Towards the end of the day the salesman again call me (not the supervisor or someone at the service department) advising they didn’t finish it and it should be ready on Monday, nothing I can do about right. Come Monday again sales man Feisal was always in contact with me since the AM but with no information because no one was even giving him an update. Finally he call me at 4:15pm Monday 17 to let me know that they finally were working on it and it should be ready within an hour I advice him that I was working but I would be there around 6:30 to pick it up, show up to pick my already purchased, documents signed and downpayment paid truck to the surprise that the SOLD IT TO SOMEONE ELSE with no heads-up! Only reason Feisal was able to tell me that it was told to him that the they make made more sense to them and more money. HORRIBLE LACK OF INTEGRITY AND PROFESSIONALISM!

I bought 2 Tiguans from this dealership over the last 5 years, and recently went in to upgrade to an Atlas. I had an appointment but still waited at the front for awhile with no acknowledgment. Then was paired with a salesman who was kind, however, was unsure of the vehicle I came in to look at. The website listed the vehicle as new but when I test drove the vehicle, there were 11k miles on it. I asked about purchasing a new vehicle, possibly a 2025 that may have been on the lot awhile. But the salesman went to the back and came back without giving me any upfront pricing and told me the upgrade would be over $1200 a month in payment. Didn’t run my credit or anything. I laughed and walked out. I went to another dealership who was INCREDIBLY welcoming and such a different experience. I was welcomed immediately and they worked a deal for less than half of the random quote given to me at this place. I genuinely feel like this place does not care about their customers and only about making money.

Bought a brand new Nissan Sentra for my high schooler in June of this year. They sold us all sorts of extended, full coverage warranty saying, anything happens to the vehicle, dent, ding, scratch, its full bumper to bumper 100% covered. They convinced us, as the teen being a new driver, we should buy this full body warranty "clay cooley promise". We just noticed last week that someone probably parked too close and when opening their vehicle door, dinged this car on the side. We called the sales rep, he advised my husband to call insurance. Now after sending pictures, the insurance company says, it is not covered. What a bunch of lies they tell you when selling a car and extended warranty. We always bought Honda from Hendrix motors, because of their superior service. This is our first Nissan purchase and first time dealing with Clay Cooley. If I had known, how bad their service is, and how useless that expensive warranty will be, I would have never done a cash purchase new car from them! Stay away!

Absolute trash I have no idea how they have 4.6 stars but since I have been so unsuccessful with reaching someone on the phone maybe this post will get some attention. Financed a car that was too expensive returned that car less than 60 days later and they put me in something else that was a BIT more affordable ( from 700 a month to 616 ) which was cool. I choose to keep my same license plate however these clowns never updated the vehicle, now my license is connected to the old car that is uninsured. So when I got pulled over yesterday it was to my dismay that the officer said I didn’t have insurance on my car. Oh it’s because when the license plate was ran it was still connected to the original car instead of the vehicle I choose to stick with. Of course when I call the dealership I’m handed off to random ppl and then sent to VM. So I will have to travel 30 plus miles back to the dealership to resolve someone else’s incompetence.

Everyone I interacted with was polite and quick to respond, which I really appreciated. That said, I ran into a couple of issues that left me feeling a bit let down. Service Plan Confusion: I paid for a 5-year service plan, but during my 30k visit last year, the advisor used my 40k service instead. No one explained why they were doing that or what it meant for the future. Because of that, I missed out on the 30k service I’d already paid for, and had to use my 50k service early when I came in for what should’ve been my 40k. I wasn’t told about any of this until recently, and by then it felt too late to push back. It’s not a huge amount of money, but it didn’t sit right. Collision Repair Experience: After someone hit my car, the hood and fender were replaced. The first round of repairs wasn’t great, and I had to bring the car back several times to get it fixed properly. It’s not perfect now, but it’s good enough—and I didn’t want to keep going back and forth. The extra time without my car was frustrating, but the staff did try to make things right and were responsive throughout. Overall, the people were kind and tried to help, but better communication and attention to detail would’ve made a big difference.

I’ve been coming here for many years even bought a few cars from Volkswagen Clay Cooley. I’m giving this place five stars reviews due to many great experiences. I built relationships with the service team and Alex is so great so if you ever take your car in and make sure you see Alex, he’ll take care of you best guy that I know in his field. I also bought my latest vehicle there, which is a 2025 GLI Jetta color is Monterey blue and I want to give thanks and a recognition to Moises Sales person who helped me from the get-go by just speaking on the phone and when I did come in, he was able to help me and get the car that I wanted with the help of his manager, Eddie who is no longer there and has moved on best of luck, Eddie. No place is perfect but in my eyes I see many individuals just trying to get it right and I love that. Also, I can’t forget about customer service team sometimes people in the back are forgotten so I wanna say thank you to the customer service team without y’all the process couldn’t be complete. So I wanna say thank you Alex thank you Moises and the Clay Cooley team.

I recently tried to help my daughter buy a new VW Jetta Sport at another dealership. We were off on agreement by about $600 on the deal, so we thanked them and left. On a whim I called Clay Cooley VW as they had the exact same spec car on their lot. I reached Hailey and explained I knew it was an odd request, but I had already negotiated a price at another dealership that didn't pan out, if she could match my numbers for the same spec car, I'd buy today. She listened, spoke to Steve M, and they agreed to match the price I requested. The entire process was painless. As with any deal, an occassional obstacle came up. When it was discussed, Sam kept his word and the deal was honored as presented. A dealership keeping their word, with NO games played on forced add ons, etc. This is RARE these days as most dealerships play games when you get there. To top it off, Clay Cooley VW offers FREE extended protection on your car for one year, this is something others dealerships charge for. They have earned our business for future VW purchases. I highly recommend this dealership if you want anhonest, no BS process deal AND great pricing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clay Cooley Volkswagen of Richardson I had an amazing experience at this dealership! From the moment I arrived, everything was smooth, professional, and genuinely caring. My service advisor, KJ, went above and beyond to make sure my vehicle was taken care of the right way. He took the time to explain everything clearly, kept me updated throughout the visit, and made sure the process was stress-free. It’s rare to find someone who treats you like more than just another appointment, but that’s exactly how KJ made me feel — respected, valued, and taken care of. My car left running better than ever, and the level of customer service I received truly exceeded my expectations. Because of this experience, I will continue returning and recommending Clay Cooley Volkswagen of Richardson to others. Thank you again, KJ — you made a big difference and I truly appreciate it!

Clay Cooley VW – Richardson, TX Today (December 29, 2025) I had a very disappointing service experience. I booked an appointment for my VW Atlas for a 20K service plus a recall. The recall involves the engine cover (fire risk) and my engine cover has been off the vehicle for over six months, this visit was specifically to have it installed. When I arrived at my scheduled time, I was told they might be out of the recall part. If the part wasn’t available, I don’t understand why the recall appointment was confirmed. At minimum, a courtesy call ahead of time would have saved me the trip and allowed me to decide whether to do the 20K service and come back for the recall later. The wait was also excessive and poorly communicated. I asked for updates multiple times and still ended up being there over 3 hours. In the end, the recall was not completed, and there was no clear explanation or proactive communication. Then at checkout I was told there’s a 3% surcharge for using a credit card, this was not disclosed in advance. For context, I’ve purchased over $100K in vehicles in a year from this dealership and I’ve owned 8 Volkswagens. This level of communication and organization is not acceptable. I’m posting this so others can make an informed decision about getting your car serviced here as well as purchasing one. I know I will not maybe time to choose a different manufacturer?

I am extremely satisfied with my visit at the Clay Cooley Volkswagon service department. Yesterday, I was met by a very professional and courteous employee named Alex Treber. Although he was only conducting a routine oil change he overexceeded my expectations by completing an inspection as well as making sure the vehicle was washed. He also took time to make me aware of what issues he found concerning.Thank you so much to Mr. Treber and all the kind faces at Clay Cooley Volkswagon. I sincerely appreciate yall!!!

I’ve been going to Clay Cooley since 2020, and I’m so grateful for the excellent customer service and care my car always receives. Everything is explained clearly, which I truly appreciate. I love the location after the renovation, it even has a play area for kids, which is very convenient while waiting. On my most recent visit, I was assisted by Alex Treber. He was very kind, helpful, and available throughout my visit. I 100% recommend Clay Cooley.

Beyond grateful and thankful for Eric and John on the service team yesterday. They listened to my concerns from the beginning instead of brushing me off and fixed my issue within 30minutes. The entire process was stress free and I can’t say thank you enough for helping on a what was already such a busy day for me.

We purchased my wife's GLI here a lil over a year ago and the service has been outstanding. Went in a couple days ago for an oil change and tire rotation and the Service Advisor Kari was so helpful. Kari went through all of our benefits from purchase and advised on the best path moving forward with everything. The wait wasn't long at all and the amenities offered are excellent. Will definitely recommend to everyone I know.

I have to sing my praises to this VW location. I have only had my 1st VW since July. Roughly November/December, It began having issues, engine lights ect. I've gone to other locations and they quoted the fixing amount, no questions- no other options available. Pay it or deal with the issue. I visited the richardson location due to a special they had at the time. They ran some tests, and did everything possible to make it 1. a positive experience, and 2. to make sure my vehicle didn't leave that lot while failing an important system check. My service coordinator was AMAZING (Daniel). We exhausted all options AND we were able to come up with a solution to get it fixed and 2 days (like a day and less than a half), it was ready. I think i'll officially make this my home dealership. They're very friendly all around and the environment was great. To Daniel, I thank you so much again, you have no idea how much your help meant to me and how much weight it shifted for me!

Dear Clay Cooley Management, My name is Michelle Bowen, and I am writing to formally document and escalate my ongoing issues with a 2021 Mercedes GLA 35 AMG that I purchased from Clay Cooley. The check engine like keep coming through the time had purchased the car . Shortly after taking possession of the vehicle, I experienced an alignment issue and had to return the car for service. Within a week, the check engine light came on. I was forced to take time off work and have the vehicle towed to Clay Cooley of Richardson for repairs because the vehicle was not drivable. the exact same issue occurred again. Once more, I had to take unpaid time off work and tow the vehicle back for service. At that time, the service department stated they could not identify the problem because the engine light had turned off. Despite this, the vehicle had now broken down twice after being sold to me as “certified” and inspected. I am a single mother and cannot afford to repeatedly miss work, lose pay, and pay out-of-pocket towing expenses for a vehicle that was represented as reliable and ready for sale. I paid for a tow that I was not informed I would be responsible for, despite the vehicle’s condition being related to unresolved mechanical issues. Currently, I am still experiencing problems with the vehicle, including dangerous acceleration failure. On multiple occasions, when the traffic light turns green, the car does not accelerate despite pressing the gas pedal repeatedly. I was told to turn off the auto start/stop feature as a workaround. This is not an acceptable solution. If auto start/stop is the cause, it should be repaired—not dismissed. Due to these repeated failures, I no longer feel safe or confident driving this vehicle. I do not enjoy owning it because I am constantly afraid it will break down again. Sincerely Michelle Bowen.
