I was told by my local auto shop last Wednesday I had a nail in my tire that couldn't be patched and would need two new tires. They didn't even tell me about the nail, there was two tires on the work estimate they gave me and had to call back to find out what was wrong. They wouldn't explain where the nail was and why it couldn't be repaired but suggested I go to Walmart and buy a plug since they couldn't repair it. I had a few other issues with the auto shop that day and working on getting second opinions on everything they told me. I brought it into Costco Thursday morning and spoke to Nick. I explained I had a nail in my front passenger tire that I wasn't sure could be repaired. He said they would take a look at it and fix it if they could. He called back and said it was fixed and ready to go not even 2 hours later. He was extremely professional and please during all communication. I picked it up after work from Sandy who was also extremely pleasant and professional. My work keys seem to have fallen off my badge between picking up my vehicle keys and the restaurant I went to afterwards. I've called several times and stopped in the last two days and everyone had been great with checking to see if they've been turned in. The whole experience was great (with the exception of my keys running away) and the only thing I wish could be changed is that they carry or can order tires big enough for what I keep on my 4runner. However that's not something the tire shop employees have control over and that's not on anyone but me for keeping them that size. 10/10 recommend for any normal tire purchases and any size tire repaires 🙂

I bought both my tires and rims through Costco and have had a problem with being overcharged now twice. When I bought the rims the tire center refused to honor an online special to install them until I threatened to go to the store manager and then they harangued my wife about it when she picked the truck up. I have now had to take the truck in for a leaking tire that was covered under warranty and was charged $84 for the warranty replacement of a $140 tire that was 5 months old and had 6,000 miles (80,000 mile guarantee). I have tried to call the center to discuss this several times but they NEVER answer the phone. The manager ("Nick" is the name on the bills) seems to look for ways to overcharge people. This is the second time it's happened to me. I have been a loyal Costco customer for over 20 years and my wife is an employee. I will now have to go to the warehouse, wasting my time, again, to fix something that should never have happened in the first place. I expect to be treated honestly and fairly at Costco and always have been except at the Charlottesville Tire Center. I never thought I would tell people to avoid Costco but if you need tires or rims in Charlottesville, I'd look elsewhere.

While a huge Costco fan, I did not have a good experience with the tire center. I stopped by for a complimentary tire air fill, and asked the technician how much a tire rotation would cost. I was told $21.99. The technician recommended that I make an appointment, because I would be in and out in 15 minutes. I made an appointment for my lunch break and came back to find out that the rotation was more expensive than what I was quoted and that it would take about an hour. I was in a bind and went ahead with the service, but would not return.

Please thank Simone and team for replacing 4 all wheel drive tires in the evening near closing time after we noticed a thug had driven a drill bit into the side of our tire today. They did not have the exact match and the tire was at high risk for a blow out. They could not have been more professional, expert, Clear and efficient. We are extremely grateful. Thank you! I've purchased most of my tires over the past 20 years from Costco and had come to rely on them, but was recently disappointed. I took in a set of wheels and tires that came with my new vehicle to have them switched over to a new set of rims. Costco wouldn't do it for any price unless I bought the tires from them. Frustrated, I went to Bob's Wheel Alignment and was treated very well. I'll be relying on Bob's for my tire needs going forward - cuz I can be selective too.

These people were super helpful and kind. I took my car in on a Saturday afternoon without making an appointment to get one tire mounted on my car. The guy told me since they had a bunch of last minute jobs come up they likely wouldn’t have time to do it that day. He checked with his supervisor though, and came back and said they could get it done that day, which they did. I was SO pleased to not have to take my car in another day.

Costco’s customer service is exceptional and their tire center is no exception. Staff are very professional and helpful. Adjusting tire pressure is free of charge and doesn’t require an appointment. Their front desk is inside the warehouse and offers all sorts of tire services at a reasonable price with your Costco membership card. Appointments can be made online through their website or by phone. Walk-ins are welcome but depending how busy they are, you may be asked to come back later.

Greatly annoyed with Costco today, would put zero stars for this if they weren't so nice. Stopped by for tire rotation, they could not complete because I didn't have a tire lock key in my car so they could take off the lug nuts. What kind of tire place doesn't have a master key... Just ridiculous. Do better Costco. We pay so much money here and y'all don't have a master????

I had to come on and rave about how awesome our Charlottesville Costco is - especially Simone from the Tire Center who saved me soooo much today!! I thought I had a screw in my tire and wasn't sure if they needed to be replaced (good ol AWD vehicles). While walking past the tire center, Simone asked if she could help me and I explained my problem. Without missing a beat she asked which vehicle was mine & went to see with her own eyes. (PS - I have absolutely just interrupted her workday flow and I'd never know it from the BEYOND accommodating way I was treated). After inspection, she discovered it was an extremely lucky situation that required her only to remove the pin and there seemed to be no leak. BUT NO - SHE WAS NOT DONE BEING AMAZING - Simone went in to get soapy water and checked to make sure that no air was escaping and saved me 4 NEW TIRES. Y'all that is no small expense when I was just told I'd have to replace them all by another company! Just had to come on here and say thank you to Simone - you absolutely made my day & your kindness was felt throughout the whole process. Thank you Simone, thank you Costco Tire Shop, thank you again to Simone - I am so glad to have such an amazing Costco in Charlottesville to count on. And they are only made great by the employees that make them that way!!

Cautionary tale for those setting appointments and waiting on service. There is a clear disconnect between Costco Tire and Costco Tire Appointment scheduler. I set an appointment for noon 13 Oct. I arrived early and was told it would be an 1 - 1.5 hrs. I expected that and said I'd be waiting for the car. At 1.5 hrs I went to the tire desk to ask about my car as I could see that it was in the same location I parked it. I expressed that there was clearly a disconnect between those that set appointments and walk-ins. What is the point of setting an appointment if a walk-in is getting priority. The tire manager walked in on this conversation and I became the next car to be worked on. Had I not said anything, who knows how long it would have been of a wait. I don't mind waiting and I understand things come up that cause delays. My issue is the poor communication. The tire center had my phone number, knew I was in the store and it wouldn't have taken much to let call me with an update. I did receive a $20 Costco gift card and an apology from the tire center manager. I mention this so that others may be aware and make other accommodations (vs. waiting) or Costco can address the disconnect with their prioritization between those that schedule appointments and those that walk-in for service.

I recently visited the Costco Tire Center and was very impressed with the service. The techs are knowledgeable, super friendly, and accommodating. I went in for a tire rotation, and they found a nail in one of my tires and patched it up for me. They got everything done within two hours, which gave me plenty of time to drop off my car, do my Costco shopping, and come back to a completed job. Excellent service and highly convenient!

Purchased 4 new tires from Costco, and just six months later, an inspection revealed issues with the tires. Despite providing clear documentation that my vehicle had no mechanical issues aside from the tires, Costco tire center refused to take responsibility—insisting the problem must be with my car. Ironically, while they admit they’re not expert mechanics, they still dismiss the assessment of an actual certified mechanic who verified my car is fine. Everything might seem fine until you run into an issue—then the support disappears. Be cautious if you expect accountability after the sale.

We had purchased our tires from Costco about 2 years ago and they offer free tire rotation and repair. We discovered a slow leak so stop in without an appointment but they fit us in and rotated and balanced the tires in addition to fixing the leak. Great efficient service. I was able to watch them balance and mount the tires. Not many repair shops have windows that allow you to watch them work. I also heard them explaining tire options to customers and they did not try to up sell or push a specific brand.

don't get tires installed here. Good prices on tires. the Costco attendant snapped 3 lug threads(Studs) off my wheels. they said get them fixed at a mechanic and we'll cut you a check. will update/edit if they refund me :(
