I love this place! My old mechanic closed down, so was looking for a new mechanic. I've been here 3 times. First time, my Kia Dealer told me the brakes on my Soul were so worn it was dangerous to drive home. I brought it to Daly City AR for an inspection, and they found no problem with the brakes. They could have charged me to fix what the dealer said was wrong and I would have been none the wiser. But they were 100% honest that I didn't need a repair. 2nd time, I have a slow oil leak on the engine of my BMW. They told me that apart from a slight odor, the leak was so slow, it was not hurting anything, and so inaccessible that it would cost a ton to fix it. Again, passing on the chance to charge me for an expensive repair I really didn't need. Third time, a couple weeks ago, had a flashing check engine light on the Soul. They scoped it and told me it was one of two things (one cheap, one expensive). They fixed the cheap one to see if that fixed the problem, and it did! Again they passed up on the chance to charge me for an expensive repair that I didn't need. I highly recommend these guys! An honest mechanic is worth their weight in gold (which they apparently won't charge me for, if all I need is steel ;-).

Our car broke down suddenly in Daly city. It was having problems starting and not going far. I googled mechanics in the area on the weekend and Daly City auto repairs came up. They were very helpful and validated my concerns and sympathetic to my situation. We are not from Daly City we're actually 3 hours away in Merced California. And we have four kids! So we got a hotel for one night and they were able to fix it by the next day in the afternoon. Our car wasn't making that horrible noise and it was able to work and here I am a week later posting this review because it actually is still working! Also they didn't have to but they drove me back to my hotel to where my children with my friend. And they were so courteous and knowing that I have many children that they came and picked me up at the hotel and drove me back to the shop so that I can submit my payment! 🥰💓 That is the most friendliest service I've ever gotten from a repair shop! Apparently they've been around forever and you can tell by their cash register which is beautiful 😍 these guys certainly know what they're doing and I really appreciate the job that they did thank you Daly City auto repairs!

Best experience I have ever had at a repair shop, I called about a flat tire needing a patch and they told me to bring it in and within 5 minutes of arrival it was fixed. When you walk in you can tell that these guys love their jobs and they treat their customers as family. Was welcomed with up beat attitudes which is something I loved seeing. Thanks again!

I had an issue with my vehicle passing smog test. Another mechanic charged me $330.00 to diagnose, and asked for $1,200.00 to repair. I spoke with the previous owner, and they recommended Daly City Auto Repair, who maintained the vehicle for them for the time that they owned it. Although it took a week* to repair, ( their parts vendor sent the wrong part). It was satisfactorily repaired at a savings of $500.00 less than the original mechanic was asking. Being that he knows the vehicle, I'll use him again in the future. * 5 days, not counting the weekend when they close.

These guys are great when it comes to small maintenance things like oil change and brakes pad replacements. Their prices are great for those kinds of work. Anything that requires a day to do, they’re picky. They don’t take jobs they are not familiar with. These guys do not have a computer so there’s no way for them to look up documentation on how to fix things. The mechanics are too old to adapt. I brought in my Subaru Forester to get checked for control arm issues. They said they couldn’t replicate it. I’m not sure how they tested it, but I feel my steering vibrate over 65 mph. A simple Google search will yield the issue I pointed out to them. All they had to do was actually check the control arms like I asked them to, but they didn’t. They could’ve stopped wasting time and tell me they cannot do it, but they didn’t. I ended up bringing my car to another shop that was able to diagnose the issue just by putting it into a lift and actually inspecting the control arms.

Fred and the people who work here are amazing; ! won't take my anywhere else. I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla that needed a lot of work. They took the time to tell me what my car needed, why, and the recommendations and timeline on when to do what. They are wildly knowledgeable and have fair pricing (l asked around and this garage had the best price for what I needed). They also work in a quick time frame. 10/10 recommend!

Looking for a reliable auto shop for a semiannual maintenance services on our vehicle for sometimes, and decided to try Daly City Auto Repairs, upon my neighbor’s recommendation.
