Great service. I knew my exhaust was leaking. I was aware I needed something replaced. They checked it out and gave me an estimate. Good estimate and done. I would recommend Dave's muffler.

I've been here twice to get my car taken a look at, and each time I go to pick it up, I'm left in complete disbelief with how amazing their work is. They are without a doubt the best in the Kenosha area. Period. Hands down. No contest. This is my second time I've brought my '09 Honda Accord in for some work and they returned to me in what seems like a better condition than when I initially bought it. It's been loud since the day I got it, but when I put the key in and turned on the ignition, it was near dead silent, booted right up, and drove off the lot smoother than it ever had driven before. Dave American, please, never change. You guys are the greatest and I will ALWAYS come back to you for all of my car related needs. I don't leave a whole lot of positive reviews on Google, but man, I'm definitely one to give credit where it's due, and my God, is Dave's American deserving of such praise. Thank you so much!

Was referred to this place by a coworker’s friend. Honest shop with honest prices. Love local Places that just care about their customers and reputation, with affordable prices. A stealer ship quoted me almost 3500 for a replacement catalytic converter for my 13 year old car, because it was “genuine” part. I went here for a second opinion and got an aftermarket new converter for less than 500. Genuine parts aside, the car is 13 years old , I don’t need a part that costs more than the car to get a few more miles out of it. Also had a recent check engine light another place quoted me 3200 and said the entire converter was bad from the sensors to everything. Brought it here for another opinion. Only one sensor was faulty and was replaced with some minor other fixes for 400. Also did my wife’s brakes for a very affordable price and very quickly. Staff is polite and friendly also.

This shop does great work. I’ve been in Kenosha for 20 years now and wish I had gone here sooner. Fair prices, super nice people and super quick also. I had them replace my muffler and tail pipe recently. They helped me fix a high idle issue as well. They’ve also helped with other various maintenance. Really solid shop right here. Would highly recommend. -Aiden

I wish I could give these guys 10 stars! Five does not do it justice. First, when I called to ask about a quote, Scott gave me excellent instructions on how to get the muffler off so it didn't rip off on my drive there. The gal at the front desk was very nice and friendly to chat with. But the best part was how reasonable they were price wise (understatement of the year!) and how quick they were with the repair. Will be back soon for additional repairs on my daughters beater with a heater. Thank you guys SO much!!

I came for a quick inspection in the suspension on my car, Roxanne was amazing at the front desk, and very responsive to my questions, and Shawn who looked at my car and found out there was pieces of cardboard Stuck in my suspension and he took it out, told me and didn’t charge me for the inspection, honestly one of the most honest places I’ve been too, I’ll be recommending them to anybody that asks me about shops in the area!!

I thought about calling back and talking to the establishment and telling them thank you very much however, I thought this would be a little Better. Just wanted to say thank you very much for being very informative. I did business with Dave’s American discount muffler and I am very happy that I went here. Not only is everybody very friendly, but they also know what they’re talking about. I recommend anybody that needs muffler work done to come visit Dave’s on Sheridan. They are amazing people. Thank you all for what you do.

Over the last 15 years, this has been the most honest repair shop I've ever worked with. They've been super kind to me too. Whether it's something small or something big, they're always there to help. And the younger couple who took over the shop for the family after Dave's passing are great. They've got a sense of humor and really good hearts. I can't say enough good things about Dave's!

We called this shop and got quoted around 600$ for new front and rear breaks, when we went in person to drop the car off they said the price will be closer to 800$ and I figured okay still doable, but then they called me the next day and said the total was around 1,300$. I decided to do the work somewhere else because they were inconsistent with their pricing. When I went to pick it up they have a 38$ inspection fee and I paid in cash and the receptionist said the total was 47$. I asked “isn’t it 38$? Per your sign” and she replied “yes with tax it’s 47$”. But that is far too much tax so I felt just overall scammed at this shop.

So my girlfriend recently went here in November to get her exhaust fixed and a tune up,struts and suspension, they fixed it and the car ran alright for a lil bit, then I noticed that the coolant was mixing with oil, so we brought it back and they said there is a valve leak not a gasket, so we paid them again to fix the valve leak. When we brought it in, it wasn't overheating at all. After they 'fixed' it we go pick car up and it starts to overheat, mind you we spent all our christmas money to fix the car which totals to about a lil over 3000, and when we called and told them what was happening they said bring it in, so we do and they say the water pump is broken and they need more money to fix it, which we don't have even spent some of rent to 'fix' the car. So I'm driving car and notice no heat, take it back, he realizes that he didn't bleed all the air out the line for the coolant, and when the heat started working he made a comment that we might not need a water pump, even though we paid for him to diagnose the problem and he said the water pump, now he is saying it might not be broken. After my girl gets out the hospital, we take car back because this wasn't happening till after we got the car back from them, so they take it for two days call us to come pick it up and say they fixed it, so we gave them benefit of the doubt and we trusted them. While driving to work I get a call that the car has completely broken down, so I go and get her off the road and the same problem that started after we got the car back started again, and now the car is overheating right away and we can't even drive it. Then Roxanne the owner was really rude and not understanding to us which we just gave them all our money we saved for the holidays, 3000+ in total from a hard working family, and that put our christmas on hold because we thought we were getting our vehicle fixed, instead everytime we got the car back it would get worse. And worse, and now we are down a car because I truly believed they mis diagnosed our vehicle and had no problem taking our money, mind you if the owner would have taken even an interest in helping us this would be a better report. So now we have our vehicle with another shop and their diagnose does not even include a waterpump issue, it was the thermostat and the air in line problem and it literally cost us not only our holiday but missed work and lost out on pay. Not happy with this place at all and after 20 years of business with them I wouldn't take any of my vehicles here. Roxanne is not Dave because we know Dave would have made it right💯.

Absolute joke & no refund and only offer to fix what they clearly were unable to do the first go. insulting to offer touching it again. Bought a welder 15 mins and a yt video it’s perfect. figured I’d pay for the pros but the place has zero integrity in their work

They did a great job. They were honest about what actually needed to be fixed, offered a very fair price, and completed the work quickly. It’s been about a month since my muffler was replaced and I’ve had no issues. I really appreciate their transparency I’d definitely recommend them

I was an auto mechanic in the 70s&80s then an industrial mechanic after that. I took a friend’s car in who lives day to day on only social security to get the exhaust fixed that Toyota wanted over 3500.00 to replace. He welded a new piece of pipe in to replace a rotted out flange for super cheap compared to a new system. When I dropped it back off I Looked under the car to see if the repair looked like it would last And couldn’t believe my eyes he cut out the rotted flange and welded in a 3or 4” piece of new pipe with what looked like factory welds (I Wish I took a pic of it and posted it with this) I rarely do reviews but it was a the best work I’ve seen in a long time. I agave finally found a place that I would take my own car to being a previous mechanic myself for almost 50 years. Drove back over to get photos to post.

I own a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. I needed a new catalytic converter & related O2 sensor. I decided to try Dave’s American Discount Muffler. “Roxanne” at the counter was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I mentioned my car just started running quite rough and she explained that a bad cat converter can cause that. She quoted a great price and I brought the car in two days later. “Scott” called me and said that as he was pulling it in he noticed how bad it was running and decided to do diagnostics (at no charge) because he didn’t want to put a new catalytic converter in a car with a bad engine, which would ruin the converter. It turned out he was right, one of the cylinders had lost all compression and the engine was shot. He asked if I would like an estimate on a new motor. Of course, with "discount muffler" in their name I was a bit skeptical but he explained that they do almost every type of auto repair and they have an “engine guy” that has done many in the past. With nothing to lose I agreed and he called back later and said he had found a few engines and the one he recommended was from a source he trusted, it had only 17K miles on it (which was highly unusual), AND it was cheaper than the others which had around 80k (which is usual). I keep my car in great shape and, at 200k miles I knew that if / when the engine failed I planned to replace it rather than spend $25 – 30k on a “new” used car. I had done the research and the average cost for an engine replacement for my car ranged from $5,000 to $10,000. The quote Scott gave me came in very close to that lower number. I dropped off my car on a Thursday, and they called me on Monday at noon to tell me my car was ready… pretty impressive considering they are closed on weekends! I now have a “used” car that is in perfect condition with a low mileage engine that should give me another 150k miles, maybe more. I am a happy camper. I have since talked to many others that all say the same thing… Dave’s is a great place to take your car for just about ANYTHING. They have knowledgeable, honest, friendly employees & great prices. I’m really glad I found them.
