I’ve never been happier with having my vehicle serviced. The repair and the reason behind it were very clearly explained to me, the pricing was very fair and they were upfront with everything before they got started. Their Customer Service is above average and I felt like an individual instead of just another customer. The office also smells delightful, which is just weird because they’re mechanics, but I was happy about it. They even have a really nice coffee if you need to wait in the lobby. I highly recommend Ervine’s!!

The very definition of family service. I moved to Grand Rapids 3 years ago and have only been using Ervines. From day 1 I truly have felt like I have been treated like family. I have the confidence my car will be treated like one of their own! I’m finally retiring my old car, and my first question when looking for a new one was “do you service x make” because I will be STAYING with them. So thankful and so blessed to be able to have this GEM in Grand Rapids- they make the annoyance of car troubles or service a breeze.

Great service, cleanest lobby in town, and I didn't feel any pressure to get any specific service done. I love the transparency of the online system to review and accept/reject work, view cost breakdown, and see detailed mechanics' notes. Their prices are generally fair; maybe a tiny bit above average, but I haven't been into a shop in a while so that may just be general industry price increases. Regardless, very well worth the cost and I'll definitely be referring and returning.

I want to thank Jenn, Megan and Steve for everything done in connection with the repairs to my vehicle. It is never "fun" to take a car in for service and face the prospect of significant and/or expensive repairs (especially with a car that has 200,000 miles on it!), being without a vehicle and making decisions about what "needs" to be done now versus what can be done later. Everyone I worked with was pleasant, professional, and not only did they listen to my concerns, but they also gave solid, common sense, recommendations about how best to proceed. In addition, the fact they were able to provide me with a loaner vehicle was extremely helpful as I had a number of things to do that required transportation and I was able to accomplish all of them without any difficulty. I filled up the loaner's gas tank and got it washed which, as always seems to be the case, probably explained the 6" of snow fall that evening. The repairs resolved my issues, and it was a pleasure working with everyone at Ervine's. Perhaps the most meaningful thing I can say is that I will return to Ervine's to deal with some of the remaining issues that were identified.

A mechanic shop that truly goes above and beyond. I’ve had several vehicles serviced at Ervine’s, and every experience has been exceptional. Their inspections are as detailed as they come, and they always take the time to provide thoughtful, transparent feedback. During my most recent visit, one of the technicians said something that stuck with me: “I wouldn’t be a good person if I didn’t share this with you.” He was letting me know my tires were wearing unevenly—something unrelated to the service that day, but something he felt I should be aware of. That simple act said everything about their integrity. The team at Ervine’s treats you like family—they genuinely care about your safety, whether or not you choose to have the work done there. As for the actual repair, my vehicle needed a new front differential. Most shops would have immediately ordered a replacement. Instead, Ervine’s took the extra time to disassemble the old one, hoping to rebuild it and save me money. Though it turned out to be beyond repair, their effort to explore every possible option before suggesting a full replacement spoke volumes. That kind of honesty and dedication is rare, and it’s exactly why I’ll be coming back, however hopefully not too often haha.

Wonderful communication and extremely thorough work at this auto shop. Their online software made it extremely easy to view the recommendations for my vehicle as well as approve, so there was little delay on my repairs. Wonderfully taken photos by the mechanics made me confident that the repair was actually needed, and Steve did a great job explaining all the details to make sure I knew exactly what was going on with my car and what it was going to cost me. Jenn and the front desk team were also extremely kind and accommodating. Can’t wait to continue using their services while I’m living in the West Michigan area.

I’m 54 years old and have dealt with many auto service businesses and mechanics but I must say that I have never had a mechanic say, “ We are booked till after Christmas but I will come to your daughters apartment and take a look at the car for her”. My daughter recently moved to Grand Rapids and had her was car stolen and wrecked. I’m her mom and live two hours away so it was a guess as to where we should take the vehicle . After calling Ervine’s , I spoke with Steve and gave him the story. He replied that he wanted my daughter to have a better experience in Grand Rapids than the one she just went through. We were so moved and grateful by Steve’s generousity of his time and skills! I am still just amazed by this act of kindness🤍What a wonderful person and what a phenomenal business! I've had some really good mechanics over the years. But after going to Ervine's, I won't be taking my cars anywhere else! I brought in a Prius for a pre-purchase inspection, and I'm so glad I chose to bring it here. They got me on the schedule amazingly fast - I reached out on a Monday afternoon and was booked for Tuesday morning. I felt very at ease knowing that hybrids and EVs are their speciality, and I felt even more at ease with how incredibly thorough their inspection was. They went over every detail with me, and gave me a copy to keep so I could refer back to it. I was blown away with that level of service. I always take cars to get inspected before I buy them, but no one has ever been as thorough and communicative as Ervine's! Not that this is the most important thing, but their office is the nicest mechanic office I've ever been to. It is bright, clean, and welcoming, and every single person I spoke to was incredibly friendly. Nobody talked down to me at any point, which is unfortunately rare in my experience! It feels great to support a woman-owned business, and beyond that, a business where you can tell people are happy to work there. They ended up giving me the green light to purchase the car based on their years of experience, and I'm confident in their advice. I now have a great little Prius and feel great knowing that I have a trusted mechanic to rely on in case anything goes wrong with my hybrid cars in the future!

Whenever I am having issues with my vehicle, I take it to Ervine's because I know they will diagnose what is wrong accurately and I never feel like they are trying to overcharge me on anything. Plus, the work they do is solid and being able to get a rental car is very convenient, even though I'm no where near a hybrid or Prius guy! I also have to give Steve some extra kudos for giving me some insight when searching for a new vehicle when my car's engine went out. If you're looking for a place that fixes vehicles right and provides great customer service, give Ervine's a call. Sure, there are places that might provide cheaper service, but you do get what you pay for.

We received excellent service at Ervine’s after being referred by a dealership to have our hybrid looked at. From the first contact, it was clear we were in good hands. Steve described in detail everything they would do to diagnose our issues and made drop off super easy. After they had a chance to check over the entire car, we had a phone conversation about their findings, which included an email with descriptions, pictures and prices for all recommended services. We felt fully informed and confident in deciding which repairs fit our budget. The level of transparency and communication was exceptional. We would absolutely recommend Ervine’s and will be returning for future service.
