I had first known Frank's Marathon, at 3116 Riverside Dr. in Upper Arlington, as Frank's Sohio. During my teenage years [during the 1960s], I had lived 1½ blocks away from that gas station. I would periodically ride my bicycle over there and would fill up my bicycle tires with free air from a hose that had been attached to the outside wall of the building. My parents had always bought Sohio gas so it had been very convenient that there had been a Sohio gas station so close to our home. Just south of Frank's Sohio had been a drive-in movie theater that has since been replaced by The Landings. During the summer, we would often hear the sounds of the movies that had been showing at that drive-in theater. We did not have air conditioning in our home so our windows would usually be open during the summer. We would often hear the sounds of the movies from several blocks away. The sound of the movies that we would hear through our open windows had been quite unusual because that sound had been created by the combination of the sounds of many speakers that had been scattered all over the parking lot. Frank's Sohio later became Frank's BP and even later became Frank's Marathon. I recently visited Frank's Marathon [on 11-11-2023], for my first time in many years, so that I would be able to take a few photographs and so that I would be able to ask a few "historical" questions of the guy who had been working behind the counter. I am happy to report that there is still free air at Frank's Marathon for those who need it.

An old school filling station with a great mechanical shop! Frank is an authorized amsoil dealer too! I had my oil changed with amsoil plus my front yard rear differentials changed with amsoil and my transfer case serviced too. The mechanic Adam was friendly and knowledgeable and gladly answered my questions. The price was very fair for all work done!

I live in Philadelphia area and my daughter goes to Ohio State. My daughter drove back to school and we noticed oil leak stains in the garage. We called Frank in the morning and asked if she could bring him the car! They were more then helpful! They treated her like she was one of their family! My Toyota stopped running in Hilliard and I called for a tow to Frank’s Marathon. I was unsure of what I was in for because the coolant gauge had registered hot for a few minutes. Turns out, the tensioner broke and shredded the belt. The tow dropped my RAV4 off on Wednesday and it was back on the road Thursday afternoon. Price was fair, no surprises. Unfortunately, as a female, I’ve been talked down to before at mechanic shops and at the dealer. I appreciate Frank’s team diagnosing the problem and helping fix the situation and treating me equal. Great experience all around and will recommend Frank’s Marathon to my local friends and family.

I’m really disappointed in Frank’s Marathon. I took a Honda CR-V in for a pre-purchase inspection. They told me that the car was generally in good condition. Not even a week later of owning the vehicle, I took the vehicle to another shop to have it looked at due to issues I was noticing. It turns out the car is leaking oil from every place it could possibly leak oil from, the exhaust is leaking, two tires need replaced ASAP, new brakes are needed, and toms of other issues that resulted in an estimate of over $5k in repairs. There’s no way the tech at Frank’s didn’t see any of these things, particularly the oil leaking and the tires. The engine light also came on about a day after I had my car inspected at Frank’s. It was reset by the seller, and then reset at Frank’s.

Called Frank last night around 4pm and he got me in quickly this morning at 8am. Had my car fixed within a few hours and back on my way by 11:30am. They let me supply my own parts and they installed them at no extra charge plus labor at a fair price. Frank has my business moving forward.

I was a visitor in the area and my vehicle overheated. I had to return home, nearly two hours away, that same day. I called and talked to Adam who was kind and seemed to really be concerned, working my vehicle into the schedule. I brought it in. He cut a heater hose - added a new connector - and charged me for 1.5 hours of labor = $144. The next day I was experiencing extreme leaking again from the same area. My vehicle is now at my mechanic and he told me the work done by Adam was in no way a 1.5 hour job. I suspected price gouging but didn’t have enough information to effectively argue at the time of payment. So BE CAREFUL!!!!! Adam gave me the “anyone else would charge a lot more” speech and made himself out to be a heroin in my crisis. No sir. I was a vulnerable woman in an unknown area with a vehicle emergency and it was the perfect opportunity for someone to take advantage of -

I have recommended to everyone I know to take their car in here. Everyone was very helpful and compassionate through the whole process of getting my car looked at from the initial phone call to picking my car up after work had been done. I appreciated the explanations of what was wrong with my car and what they did to fix it. At other places I've gone, I've always felt like either I was being talked down to or people couldn't bother to explain things to me. That was not the case here, they were wonderful!

At first I was enraged when I saw the actual bill. They originally told me on the phone the day before the cost of fixing it would originally be over $800. Hower the next day when I picked it up, the bill came to over $1000. They told me they did some extra work, but they didn't tell me this ahead of time. With that I was anticipating the amount to be over $800. I stormed out the door as I left. But as I drove my vehicle I was overjoyed because for the first time in years - I was finally getting heat. I felt much better after that. They did do a good job for not only fixing the original problem I was having, but mostly I was soo glad to have my heater working again after soo long. All in all, My suggestion to Franks Marathon in Upper Arlington is to keep up the good work you do, but also please make sure the customer is clear on what the final amount is.

Took my old car to Franks for years. Always decent work. Now I got a hybrid car. I checked beforehand with Frank if they would be able to fix an electrical issue. I had read that usually Ford themselves have to be the one to fix these issues since the hybrids are computer/sensor heavy. After talking to his mechanic, Frank said no problem. Well the mechanic had no idea what he was doing, absolutely in over his head. His diagnosis was nowhere near what the actual problem turned out to be. The next day I'm told it has to go to the dealer. Fine, but they still charged me! Don't take a hybrid here unless your sure it's a mechanical issue.

I am not a car person so I get really nervous every time I need to get my car serviced. I am literally blessed to have a reliable mechanic that I trust. I don't really trust the big chain auto repair shops and random mechanics. We moved to Columbus this year and I did a LOT of research to choose where to take our cars. I have been to Frank's Marathon 3 times now (to replace the battery, to change the oil and to change the brake light bulbs). I can highly recommend them, they are very professional and very attentive

After a recent visit to this gas station, I found it quite impressive. The staff was amicable, and I appreciated the great selection of drinks at the convenience store. The fuel prices were also reasonable, and they fueled my car for me. Where else can you get service like that anymore? The overall cleanliness and maintenance of the place were commendable. Did a thorough and respectful inspection on my trucks engine. On the phone communication is a bit rocky, but they do a good job explaining in person. Quote ran quite high. Though, its hard to find a good shop run by honest people, so I would definitely take my truck back here. Recommend👍
