Miguel is great! I've been in twice this year and he's done a nice job. He replaced my brakes, calipers, etc, and more recently he worked on my exhaust. He does good work, wastes no time, and charges very fair labor rates. I'll be going back the next time my car needs anything.

Firstly miguel was so kind. I originally called because I was told that there was something particularly wrong with my car. Once it got 2 Miguel's he explained to me that yhe diagnosis was not Correct. He was good at communicating with me and very direct through the process.I honestly don't see myself going anywhere than to Miguel's for my mechanical needs again. I'd highly recommend them. Prices are good and definitely someone you can trust.

I have been coming to this shop for a few years. I moved out West and I still take my business to Miguel. He is a great mechanic and is honest about what needs done, which can be hard to come by! He always shows me what needs done, will explain things to me and has the best prices hands down! Also the other mechanic there, Jorge is nice and helpful. Bottom line I trust the work they do!

July 16 2025 I took my car to Miguel's Shop on Barnett and Fulton next to prime bar just to get my struts and springs replaced an my starter checked well the next day he called to tell me that I had gotten the wrong parts ok it happens ok no problem so he quoted me 500 dollars I said ok cool even though it seemed a Lil much well I go get my car an not even 2 days go by an on the second day my car won't start so I tell Miguel an he lied to me an said his people had looked at it but he didn't know that I was home strike 2 then a day after that they come get my car used another car to tow my car drags my bumper along the road I had to fix that also so finally the next day ( By the way Miguel is trying to be funny an speak Spanish )around me saying Lil jokes Dude my ex-wife is from Laredo I just smiled an walked a way but anyway I finally get my car an I go to dinner with my 80 yr old mom in Franklinton come out around 7ish an my car won't start so I call Miguel an text him ( By the way I saved All my text ) he doesn't answer so I caught bus to west broad meanwhile my 80 yr old mother is sitting in the restaurant I finally get back an fix what need to be fix a fuse they put an old an busted fuse remember 500$ my neice works for the better business bureau I've already informed her I asked for some of my money back I Don't want you to fix or touch my car this car was given to me by Grandfather on his death bed an I told Miguel this guess my stuff doesn't matter I just wanted my car fix

I’ve been going to Miguel for 9 going on 10 years, my sisters, and my mom as well. He's been the sole servicer for EVERY car I’ve ever owned. He’s our go to for fair prices and actually doing the work that’s needed, instead of trying to just get money out of you. Miguel will even give car advice if I ask or his experienced trusted opinion. I’ll probably never go to another mechanic as long as he’s open. 10/10 recommended.

Was told that heater core flushes aren’t a thing and had to be fully replaced. At the time we did a radiator flush hoping it would help . Later found out that a heater core flushes exist, he just wanted to charge me to replace it which was a huge price difference. Wasted almost $400 for a flush I didn’t need, had to go to a different shop because I felt like he was lying to me, and find out he was! Don’t come here if you’re a single woman.

My 20 yr old TOYOTA Celica was blowing hot. Miguel recharged it as I stood there and charged me less than I expected. The next day, I brought my 30 yr old VOLVO to him. Same issue. He quickly researched how to service the old car and had it blowing cold that day. Just recently, I asked him to replace the Volvo’s fuel pump and crank sensor. He researched the topic and mentored his apprentice through the “detective” operation, replaced the sensor and discovered that I had purchased the wrong fuel pump. The right part is on the way. I know enough now to write a review. Miguel’s Auto & Brake Service does great work at a fair price! They don’t have a receptionist but Miguel responds quickly to my text msgs. The best way to follow up with him is to visit his shop, which can be hard to find. UPDATE: the right parts worked. Miguel completed the work and fixed the car horn too. 5+Stars. My daughter's car is next up. Updated 4/10/2025: Last month, Miguel gave my 1995 Volvo 960 wagon another lease on life, repairing the exhaust system, installing brake pads/rotors, getting the 2nd horn to work, various miscellaneous tasks. He got it all done well. The price was very fair. He diagnosed my daughter's Hyundai as a transmission issue and sent us elsewhere. It is great to have an auto mechanic who inspires confidence and trust and who consistently delivers value! I am grateful for that.
