I brought my 83 year old neighbor's 1989 or '91 Toyota Corolla in to have an electrical issue resolved. The serviced provided was top-tier and the price was more than reasonable. Thanks again, guys!

My first time visiting this auto shop. Now I understand why they are always so busy. I was very pleased with the service at Northend Wrench. They were very helpful, honest, friendly, and fast with the repair. Will definitely be back.

Being a first time customer I was very very impressed with the care and level of professionalism displayed by the shop. My BMW caught fire under the hood and I had to find a shop that had experience working with imports to have it towed to almost immediately. I had spoken with Acceleration on high street whom was booked and recommended North End Wrench as an alternative. When I called, I was put on the tentative schedule and able to have my vehicle towed to the shop but to surprise my vehicle was seen the day after it was towed. I was given a diagnosis and able to make the necessary steps to get my car to MAG in Dublin after discovering the fire was caused by a recall all in less than 3 days. I would highly recommend this facility and I will be going to North End Wrench for most of not all of my future work.

Super nice guys. Got my car fixed, good as new, all in a day. Very reasonably priced as well, and gave a detailed report of service when it was completed. Will absolutely be taking my cars back to them from now on. Thank you so much!!

I’ve been going to Northend Wrench for about a year now and had several repairs on my car. The service here is impeccable and is always high quality. As a woman in my mid 20s with a hybrid car, I have a hard time finding mechanics that aren’t at best patronizing and at worst completely rude to me. I’m curious and interested about what goes on with my car, and the guys at Northend Wrench always answer all my questions with kindness and respect. They have a ton of experience and and are extremely knowledgable, and I’ve even called them and asked them about what to do and been able to do a small repair myself based on their recommendation. Very quality work with very reasonable prices. These guys are a staple of Clintonville and I recommend them to everyone. They are busy so plan to wait up to 3week-month but it’s worth the wait.

These are good guys; I trust them. They charge a little more for some stuff, but I tried getting an oil change from Valvoline, and they stripped oil plug, which cost me more than the savings. The service (drilling and tapping my oil plug) and oil change at North End Wrench was still only $250, which is what the dealer charges for a regular oil change. I think my money would have been better spent developing a relationship with a mechanic I can trust.

Great shop. I have known Dave, the owner, for 20 plus years, even offered to buy the shop from him, that's how good it is. He has managed to build a lovely business with great techs and a real honest and transparent work flow that I completely appreciate. Big love for Northend Wrench

Mark and Dave are great car guys, I am a new customer and have only recently brought my 1973 Mustang to North End Wrench. In short order they have earned my trust. They have taken care of my favorite car ever as if it was their own! It’s nice to find a trustworthy shop. Very satisfied.

I have been taking my cars to Northend Wrench for at least 7 years. The level of honesty, service, and fair pricing over the years keeps me coming back. Even my insurance company loved working with Dave and his staff! When I needed a repair that would be more affordable elsewhere they were the ones who gave me this information, and had no issues with me saving some money. It is this level of integrity that has earned my loyalty and my frequent recommendations to my friends and family for them to try Northend Wrench!

Truly just honest, kind men who want to help you! I have never had such a great experience at an auto shop before. It started when my car was overheating and I found myself in their parking lot not knowing what to do. They helped me free of charge for a temporary fix so I knew when I needed to take it to a shop, this would be the place! I have returned a couple of times now and time and time again they have great service and fair pricing. You will not be disappointed by any of the staff. I will continue to recommend this place to friends and family! Thank you Northend Wrench!!!

I knew Northend Wrench was run by some good mechanics when I noticed they regularly have a lot full of classic vehicles. I have never been able to trust a shop before as I feel I’m being taken advantage of due to my lack of car knowledge. The guys at Northend, especially the owner Dave, have a lifetime of experience and can explain every detail of what’s going on with your vehicle. I came in because I wasn’t sure if I should put any more money into my car. After an affordable diagnostic I got bad news, but I know I’m getting an honest heads up from an extremely knowledgeable source. I look forward to bringing my next car to Dave.

2023 Edit: I've been recommending this shop for years to people in search of a good mechanic, and though I still would trust Northend Wrench with my car, I'm less certain than before that I would trust them with my wallet. My most recent visit I was overcharged by around 25% over the upper range of what could be reasonably expected for the work on my make/model of car. Surprising to say the least as Northend historically has matched quality work with affordable prices. --------- Initial Review: I had a great experience with this shop. They communicated well, got my car in and out faster than could be expected, and charged a very reasonable price for the nature and quality of the work done. I definitely would recommend. Extra info: They have a key drop. Very convenient as my car troubles happened on the weekend. Dropped it off on a Sunday and they found time to diagnose on Monday.

This was my third experience using North End Wrench with the two unique vehicles I’ve brought to them. I feel obligated to share my thoughts. I absolutely love all these guys! I’m a gearhead myself and do a lot of my own work. I can’t say enough about the respect they give to someone who does and knows how things work with modern and classic vehicles. I highly recommend and appreciate the fact that they’re willing to take on challenging projects. 10 stars if I could check that box.

I was recommended to North End Wrench by multiple friends, and I will definitely recommend them to others in the future. They were accommodating to all of my requests, and got my alignment to the exact specs I wanted on a freshly redone suspension within a few hours. Did a great job explaining everything to me afterwards, and even paintmarked a few things for me to keep an eye on. An old school shop that's one of few remaining in town that I'd trust with a nice car for a fair price.

I'm not kidding when I say that this place is the kind of establishment that makes America great. I was referred by a friend and Dave and all his staff took super care of my old car. The car means a lot to me because I started working on it when I first was diagnosed with cancer many years ago. Overcome with other parts of life, as happens to all of us, my car fell into somewhat disrepair. The staff at Northend Wrench took my car in as if it were their own. It is now restored to a wonderful daily driver to create many more wonderful memories.

Went to the shop to find out information about drop off for a service. after stating what was wrong with the vehicle. I was informed on how to fix it myself if I didn’t want to wait to bring it in as they are booked 2 months out. Gentleman was attentive and informative as to things I should look into and possibly complete myself. If the shop is giving you the information free of charge, in my opinion they are honest business doing quality work at fair rate.

This is the only place I will take my cars. They will test drive, they're honest, they honor their work and parts if a part fails. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I had a pretty poor experience in just about every way at Northend wrench. I strongly do not recommend them. I have used Northend wrench in the past for alignment work since they seemed knowledgeable and are willing to work on modified cars and aftermarket parts. I use my car for occasional track days but it is a daily driver for a light commute to work. My young son also rides with me to daycare in the car. I recently bought a fully solid arm suspension set, sway bar endlinks, and control arms from SPL. I decided to use them for the install and alignment since they had done 'okay' work for me in the past. This was a mistake. They scheduled me 2 months out to do the work, which is fine if the work is of good quality. I dropped my car off the night before the scheduled date on the weekend so they could start early. They were inside working on personal projects, but did not acknowledge me as I dropped the key off in the lockbox. They didn't start my car until the following day until late afternoon. I know this because I had to call to verify the work as they did not reach out to me. They had my car for four days...these are bolt on suspension parts. When I did speak to them briefly on the third day they told me they had to look up the instructions on the internet... I said thats fine so long as the install is correct. My only request when I spoke with them was to have the car setup in the less aggressive 'street' alignment. Again this is my daily car. I had to take an Uber to pick my car up and when I arrived the mechanics were eating lunch. They seemed annoyed that I showed up during lunch and would not let me in the shop at first. The bill was for nearly 8 hours of labor...bolt on parts. Fine, if done correctly. They handed me the alignment sheet... 3 degrees of negative camber. Not what we discussed. "Well camber doesn't really have that big of an impact on tire wear etc..." bullshiting me... Ok I guess we'll just have to get you back on the lift. Ok do I wait? I had to Uber... No we'll have to schedule you two months out to get it fixed. My car handled it very badly. The joints were very very loud. Now I expected some nvh but this was bad. They told me this was normal. It wasn't. I sent pictures to the SPL engineers which noted they installed the toe arms with too many spacers and had not fully threaded the bolts. Not good. They said I needed to take it back to be fixed. My son rides in this car. I take this car on a track. I call Northend, they tell me no can do. Good luck, see you next month. I drive my car very rarely for the next couple of weeks to get to work, but the knocking is really bad. So I decided to fix the bolts myself. The toe arm was simple, but then I decided to also check the torque... all wrong...super lose. Like 40ftlbs on the lower knuckle instead of 110ftlbs. Then I noticed the sway bar endlinks are hitting the control arms! These are very expensive parts just knocking on each other. I spent 4 hours fixing it. No more knocking, no more creaking, handles better... alignment still jacked up. The follow up appointment finally comes around. I tell them about the fixes and the control arm clearance issues. "Oops" is all they have to say. I print out and circle the alignment settings and make sure it's very clear this time. They call me back early and when I go to pick it up I notice the camber does look better. But...the alignment is still wrong. They tell me "that's the best we can do, the top plate is maxed out." There is like 20 degrees of adjustment you can do with this aftermarket setup. Again, bullshiting me to my face. At this point I just don't want them breaking my car anymore. So I leave. The alignment is 'fine enough' this time, but I still feel like I have to check their work to make sure the wheels don't come off. Lazy... just pushed the top plate to max and called it good. These guys come across as knowledgeable and maybe they are. But they do lazy work, are expensive, and treat their customers like shit.

These guys saved my behind when I got a flat tire pulling into another local business. AAA doesnt do plugs and the vehicle I bought used was missing the spare (that was a nice surprise). I ran over and asked if they did plugs. Thank God they helped me out because I was pretty screwed! God Bless you guys!

Great experience and more than fair pricing. I brought them a pretty unconventional suspension setup that two other shops couldn’t get aligned correctly. The team at NorthEnd Wrench got it dialed in exactly how I asked them to and took the time to explain what they were doing along the way. Super easy to work with, friendly, and you can tell they’re real car enthusiasts. Highly recommend.
