First I will say the communication from Gerber was excellent and it appears that their work is great as well. Post-work their customer service is seriously lacking. My son, who is on base, has the use of my car while he is there and was the victim of a hit and run that damaged a small portion of the car. I am 2,700 miles away so I did not see the damage first-hand, had one conversation with Gerber at the time of insurance contact for repair, have not seen the repairs first-hand. I am, however, receiving SEVERAL email reminders to complete a survey. All the questions in the survey were about things I really don't know. On a scale of 1-10 rate this thing, that thing, this other thing. I don't personally think a 7 or 8 rating when I don't really know anything (with no option to select N/A or Not Applicable) is negative. I explained my rating in the comments stating the one interaction I had was good, I haven't seen the vehicle but from pictures looks good. After my survey, within MINUTES, my dad gets a call from Gerber asking if he'd submitted a negative review. Who is Shannon? Give me her phone number. I'm at work so I didn't answer the call, but did listen to the voicemail when I got a chance. In the meantime, my dad is texting me asking if I had a call from Gerber, if I'd filled out a negative survey, etc. When I was able to return the call to (I think he said his name is..) Reyes, he told me these surveys greatly impact his employee's workflow and pay and negative reviews like mine could/would be detrimental. I'm here to say, one, it's borderline harassment to send email after email survey requests to someone who really did not deal with you. Two, attempting to guilt or strong-arm a "customer" (because really that was my son who has the car or my dad who paid the deductible for my son who DID NOT receive survey requests) into leaving glowing reviews is just icky. If you only want 10's on a scale of 1-10, perhaps make the other numbers not clickable, don't have a sliding scale rating system, or state this in your emails that you continuously send. I don't think rating 7 or 8 out of 10 is negative. Of course, I don't think you do either Reyes, because you tried to backtrack on that word during our eventual conversation. I had to remind you that you not only stated my review was negative on my voicemail but then also reiterated that to my dad when talking to him. So, here is a 4-star review, even though you don't deserve it and you haven't earned it with me... yet it's still not negative.

I was at a state park and hit a rock with my bumper. My car was almost paid off and I didn’t want it junked out. I used my insurance through Gerber to get my bumper fixed. We had some sort of miscommunication about the day I was to get the estimate but even if it was me who was wrong they said they would get it taken care of. It was quick. They took my info and some pictures and I was on my way. A few days later they were ready to schedule. I dropped off my car. They had excellent communication with the rental car company. I was in and out and in a rental and back to work in an hour!! Wow!! They use an app to keep you updated and share the status. I really wanted my car back and it was a friday. The app told me it would be ready just about 5 PM. I didn’t even need to communicate with the rental car place. They said they would take care of everything. I picked up my car and it was clean inside and out. The manager is very nice and accommodating and the lady who works the front desk is so busy she doesn’t get a break! She works like the energizer bunny! My bumper is perfect and the black part under my car bumper is fixed! It was a wonderful experience! Both the manager and the front desk lady came to help me check out my car. When I got inside the seats were even cleaned! It was awesome! It smelled so nice! I hope I don’t need a collision repair anytime soon but if I do I would certainly return! Thanks!

I’m not one to usually complain or post reviews. I’ve used Gerber in the past before with no issue! However, this time was not the case. Aside from issues I already spoke to them about, after I picked up my car I noticed they drove it 400 miles. 400. Not just a few miles to verify repairs. But 400 miles. I know this because they left the paperwork in my car stating the intake mileage. Ontop of that I brought my car in due to a broken headlight assembly with dead light bulbs due to someone hitting me. A “new” bumper was replaced and a new head light assembly put it. But no new light bulbs meaning my car will not pass inspection (a thing I put on the claim and told them about as well). I’ve called customer service, and I’ve called my insurance. This is just kinda sketchy all the way around!
