Was having trouble with driveline vibrations after a recent suspension upgrade. Chris took unscheduled time to crawl under my Tacoma and help diagnose/recommend the proper components. After a few hours work in my driveway, my driveline vibrations are 99% gone! Cant say enough about Gilbert Driveline's helpfulness and knowledge. They may be fine for repairs but I would steer clear for custom work. I purchased a driveshaft from speedway for my car. Was perfect. I changed from a 2004r to a 4l60e. Had to shorten the driveshaft. Guy sold me a new tube due to a slight ding. I listened, not being a driveshaft expert. Gave him the measurements measured the way speedway, jegs , summit all specify. Driveshaft was about a half inch short. Still slid all the way into the tail shaft bushing so I ran it. 300 miles later I started having a driveline vibration. Started messing with the pinion angle and noticed the weight was missing for the driveshaft balancing. Must not have been welded very good. Not sure why speedway can nail it perfectly 1st shot with no problems and these guys are so bad. Response to response. No, if you have unorthodox ways of measuring and cutting drive shafts then you need to let the customer know how you want it measured to get the correct numbers before you start doing the work. That's just foolish. Also, the balance weight fell off due to poor craftsmanship. It's a simple weld on weight. As far as getting back to you about the concerns, why would I want to? I'm going to spend my time dealing competent people that can get it right the first time. It's about the least complicated part you could possibly make. I don't have time to run my drive shaft back and forth to your shop hoping it's going to work this time.

I had a problem with the front and rear drive shafts having a slight vibration after having them rebuilt. The shop couldn’t fix it or recommend a fix when talking with the local parts store checking on replacing the front drive shaft and telling the person my situation he recommended that I call Gilbert Welding. They fixed the vibration in both drive shafts and my only regret was not finding them first. They were extremely professional and I would and will recommend them to anyone.

I can't say enough about Gilbert Driveline Services. I'm from out of state and my Jeep dropped the rear u-joint damaging the driveshaft. Brought it in to them on 4/19/22 Monday first thing, they told me it would be a couple days that they were very busy with a lot of local commercial business and showed me their backlog of jobs. I explained my situation and we agreed on next day service. They called me once to say the slip joint was toast I authorized the additional repairs and again that afternoon to say the job was done ahead of time. I picked-up my driveshaft and installed it that day. It fit perfectly. My Jeep was back on the road and ran smoother than it has in years very quick and at a very reasonable price. Was able to call a few days ahead and schedule a time for me to drive down to the shop. 2.5 hours each way, I didn't want to have to make two trips. Great to work with, I was able to drop my driveshaft off after work and it was done in the window I asked for. Great service, very fair pricing considering how much of a pain I’m sure this driveshaft was. Took care of the “non-replaceable” ujoints on my AE86 and rebalanced the driveshaft. Extra bonus points they put all the grease fittings facing the same direction too. Would definitely recommend these guys
