One word comes to mind, Scammer. Very clever at talking people into repairs that dont need to be done AND charging double to triple for them. Example-The brake job for 275? Wow! Thats a large price tag for 22 dollar brake pads. It takes all of 1 hour to do brake pads and if you put rotors on ALL 4 tires it takes an extra 5 mins per wheel. Again, Wow. I would not let my mother go back or her friends/family for nothing. Just go to a professional mechanics or a goodyear for a 2nd opinion, thats all I'm saying. It will be worth the weight in literally real gold with the money you will save.

I cannot speak highly enough of these mechanics. In the past, my experience with other mechanics has been for them to speak to me like I have no idea what a car even is. But at Giles, from the first time I dropped my car off, Todd and Don have always explained exactly what was wrong, exactly what they would do to fix it and exactly why they were doing that. To be honest, some of it still went over my head, but overall I am more informed about my car and better able to make educated decisions. What's more, Todd and Don always go out of their way to do what is best for the client. They will tell you straight if your issue is one one you should live with because of the cost of the repair part, or if it's something that needs to be fixed right away or somewhere in between rather than trying to pad your costs and tell you that everything is an emergency. When I indicated that I couldn't spend more than a certain amount on a repair, Todd went out of his way to do extra research to make sure that, rather than getting me the best part possible like he normally would, he got me the best part for the cheapest price. I had been searching for a good mechanic in the Columbia area for about 5 years and I am so glad that I finally found these guys.

I had a problem with my car in the area while heading back to NY on a Friday afternoon. This shop was the closest to me so I stopped to see what was going on with it. Although they were full for the day he still took a few minutes to take a quick look and diagnose the problem so I could get back on the road and get home. Unfortunately I don't remember getting his name. However, I highly recommend this place. He was very honest and realistic about my options. If I lived in the area this would be my regular shop.

Truly honest mechanic, will even teach you a little about your car! Usually answers the phone quickly. Some friends brought their car here too and they were also happy. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Of note, it can be a little confusing to get to the shop. You pretty much drive through the apartment complex and then there's a gravel road between the apartment complex and the highway and that's what will get you there.

Todd Giles was recommended to my son about 10 years ago. He went to Giles Auto Repair and came back bragging about the service and price. I went there the next week for oil change, taillight and new wipers. It was the best experience that I had ever had with an auto mechanic. Since then I only go to Giles. I have had brakes changed, entire manifold and upper engine repaired and serviced, tune ups, radiator repairs, A/C repairs. ....you name it. Todd has always accommodated my schedule and my needs. His rates are better than any dealership and more fair than most. He will do what you need and NEVER try to upsell you or offer anything that you don't need. If he finds another problem, he will tell you about it. You will always feel safe driving away after you have trusted your car to Giles Auto Repair.

Best mechanic in Columbia. Giles is the only mechanic we use. We have tried others when we first moved to Columbia. But once we found Giles, we knew we found someone we could trust. Extremely knowledgeable. They have always been fairly priced and will not try to "sell" you any service you don't need. We have recommended Giles to anyone looking for a great mechanic. They have all agreed and become loyal customers/fans. If Todd or Mike ever retire, I genuinely don't know what we will do.
