So my father-in-law was driving from Florida to Ohio via Columbia in his 2009 Chevy Colorado. About 60 miles south of Columbia his transmission began to fail. After he called and told me the issue, I immediately hopped online and based on Google and Yelp reviews I sent my father-in-law straight to Zeagler. Zeagler did not disappoint. They were able to get him a rebuilt transmission and install it within about a week at an extremely reasonable price. Since the new transmission was installed he has driven the truck back to Florida with zero transmission issues. Thank you Zeagler!

I'm a Senior Citizen (75 yrs) ... This is the first time they have worked on my car ... They had my car towed, fixed the gear shift problem and charged a very reasonable fee. Nice polite, friendly and knowledgeable people! I am so glad to recommend them!

I'm from out of state and needed a dependable, fast, reasonably priced mechanic for my older truck before hitting the road again. The first time I went in I got exactly that. The second time I went for other work, they told me would take all day. I arrived at 7:30, checked my car in at 8:00a. The car was not worked on when I left at 11:30a. I arrived back at 4:00p that same day and my car was done. Assuming they did the work right after I left, that's about 4.5 hrs, with labor totaling at $525. So that means they charged me about $115/hr., that is giving them the benefit of the doubt. A bit steep. Is that the going rate? I sucked it up since I needed my car and frankly exhausted from having to walk 2 miles and wait and hop buses to get to their shop 6 miles away. (no, they didn't even offer me a ride when their well dressed business man got preferential treatment - and I'm an older woman from out of town, which I told them this before). I'm a bit pissed that I got taken advantage of by them. Although the work was done well, I'll give them that. Disturbingly the front office lady (owner's wife) isn't exactly the nicest person. I DREAD dealing with her. She responds to me as if I was imposing on her because I wanted more details than what was on a general invoice. I still have to get a lighter/device replaced but they said putting that in would be under $200. What? It took a bit of doing to get a better idea of why he would possible charge me even close to that much. I only needed ONE of the two power plugs fixed. Scott ordered both of them without checking first and was going to change them whether they needed it or not. Parts for both: $35 ($10 for the one I actually needed, $25 for the cigarette lighter I didn't need, which still works); Labor? His guess is under $200. Sure dude, just because I didn't flinch to pay your over priced rates doesn't mean I can keep this up. Frankly, $1500 given to this shop is more than my budget can bare and still get home safely. I don't get a ride, don't have a ride and the smell of cat crap in the office while waiting is difficult to endure. I guess if I were a well-dressed, well paid man, they would give me better treatment.

Dropped off car three weeks ago, STILL have not looked at it or can even give me a day when they could. Called multiple times to check status. Why accept my car to be looked at if you’re backlogged?

I highly recommend Zeagler’s. I’ve been taking my cars there for more than 15 years because I believe Ralph and Scott are honest, professional mechanics. Their prices are affordable. There were times when I thought there was something seriously wrong with my car, and it turned out to be a small repair. Times like that you’re grateful not to be taken advantage of. Recently, something did go seriously wrong. The transmission went out on my old Sienna with more than 225,000 miles. They popped another one in at a good price, and it’s riding just fine. It’s why I keep going back.

Over the past few years, Zeagler Auto Service has provided our family with top-notch service. Being from New York and having a son and daughter attend U of SC, we've had 4 different vehicles brought to them at different times and for different reasons. Each time it's been a pleasure knowing there is no game playing taking place when they get to work. Ralph and Scott are extremely courteous. Jeanine and I appreciated their honesty and professionalism from our first experience using them. They are a perfect example of how an auto repair business should be run and no one person should have any doubts in their mind about the kind of service they would receive if they decide to call them. You will not be disappointed.

My dad and I always take our cars to Zeagler’s. They always do the job right and for a fair price. Their customer service is outstanding. They always communicate with you before any work is started on what work will need to be performed and how much the cost will be. I would highly recommend Zeagler’s to everyone.

I had a battery drain issue for 6 months that took me to three different shops, through a new alternator, and about five different batteries. Zeagler's was the first shop able to trace it down and finally solve the issue, and at a very reasonable price. I'll definitely be coming here again if I have car trouble, especially for electrical issues.

It's hard to believe, but there are honest automobile repair shops still out there. This place is one of very few. Brought my truck in, knowing exactly what was wrong with it, but kept my knowledge about automobiles hidden to see if they would find "other" things wrong with it. I travel for work, so at these times, i am not able to do the work myself and have to place my truck in different shops, when necessary. Not many shops pass this test. Scott impressed the hell out of me. He told me EXACTLY what the problem was and didn't try to jack up any prices on unnecessary items. Appeared to be short staffed but working at a fever pitch level, had my truck out pretty fast. Their is a wait, but that just means more people know they will have their vehicle repaired correctly and will not be scamed like most other shops do to raise their profit margins. Thank you, Scott, for giving this industry the integrity others have tried to ruin over the years. Great job.

Even though I could not justify the repair needed for my vehicle (new transmission) they were kind and professional with me every step of the way. And when I asked how much for the diagnostic they told me not to worry about it and that it didn’t take too much time for them to find the issue. 10/10 would take them a vehicle again.

My long time mechanic retired. I asked a good friend where to go. He replied without hesitation... Ziegler's. He has been their client for decades. Well I guess long term customers receive a different level of service than a newbie. I had another 100,000 tune up required. I needed new pins in driver's door and I had ongoing problems with my air conditioner. After 10 days I received my vehicle back. Within two days I had to return because the door was not working and the air conditioner was not even worked on. Again another long wait of seven days. After a $1,500.00 bill I left. The next day I saw damage to the passenger side wheel panel. There was only one place this could have happened. The shop st Ziegler's. Since I did see the damage untill the next day I had no other recourse but to accept it. After all of this. The extremely long wait times, the inefficient repairs, the sizable bill and the damage to my vehicle within two weeks everything that they said was repaired was not. The air conditioner delivered zero cold air and the driver's side door would not close. I do know they changed my oil because after 27 years of care the person at Ziegler's changing my oil spilled some on the cylinder cover leaving a sticky black goo after the first driving. I know mechanics have a tendency to receive unfavourable reviews. I believe Ziegler's well deserves this review. The two stars are because I am feeling generous.

Mr. Zeigler and his staff have always been honest and fair in pricing. He will not tell you that you need something fixed that you don’t. They do a great job. I would recommend anyone to go there!

I had my daughter's car looked at as A.C. was not working and also oil change was needed. After a few days, we are told it's fixed, my daughter went to pick up the car. She made the payment and was told to pick up the car from outside. However the car would not start, she went back inside and after checking they told her that battery has died, the battery was one year old. They sold and installed a new battery that they carried. The car started and next day my daughter felt A.C. is still not working and oil change indicator still showed !5% oil life which could mean either oil was not changed or computer was not reset. We took the car back and was told one of the A.C. parts needs changed, we were charged quite a bit extra money for this. There was no mention of how it was overlooked the first time, there was no apology, there was a new bill without any discount which I paid. I asked about oil life indicator still showing 15% and i was told it was changed and indicator was reset but "let me check again". After about 30 minutes of waiting, I was told indicator has been reset. Above experience has left me feeling there is something not right, Zeagler's is very popular, our elderly neighbours have been going there for decades, my colleagues have taken their cars there. Is there a breakdown of some sort at the shop? Has workmanship declined or are these modern times where this is the best we get. I was impressed by pleasant interactions with Scott but distressed by above experience.

The owner did my daughter (an USC student) and I a service yesterday. She was in a fender bender yesterday in Columbia, and there was fluid from an unknown source at the time on the front end of her car. We dropped off the car based off of personal recommendation for a fair & competent shop. We were told that we would be “worked in”, and we would have the car by the weekend, OK, great. With my daughter’s schedule she needed to have a car by Friday AM, and car complete by Friday COB didn’t work for her. My wife and I made preparations to drive a car from Greenville SC for her use. Right before leaving at about 5:00PM, I reached out to the shop, just to clarify what my daughter was told, what the shop could realistically complete, and when. I told the owner Scott my predicament, without pushing for a rushed completion. He went above and beyond checked the car out and right before my wife and I were about to hit the road for a 3 hour round trip. We were advised that the fluid found was not from her car. Turns out that the box truck that backed into her had a lift gate, and the fluid was more than likely from the truck. They were beyond fair in this circumstance. So if I need a mechanic in Columbia SC for my daughters RAV4 they will be my first call. Thank you Scott.

Would highly recommend this shop. I had some major work done to my car. I got an insane quote from another company in town. They not only did an amazing job on the work but their follow up, communication and delivery exceeded my expectations. And they were 30% less than my other quote. I won't go anywhere else from now on

My father sent me to Mr Zeagler 30+ years ago and our family has used them ever since. I believe his son is now running the shop. Still great customer service and dependable.
