The service technician broke something. I spoke with the management, and they denied responsibility for it. I make a decent salary and have no reason to lie on someone just to have the vehicle taken care of. I simply wanted them to take responsibility for their errors. Since they failed to do so, I won't return, and I have shared this news so that others know how they operate business. I don't advise that you take your vehicle there. Especially in today's economy, getting the most for your earnings is important, and this is not the place for it when you need car repairs.

set an appointment to get an inspection completed. the next morning was advised the ONLY person who could complete the inspection was on vacation and would not be back until next year. I ask the person on the phone if they could reschedule me elsewhere for today since it was not my fault and I was unaware no one would be able to complete the inspection. the person who answered declined and told me I would have to do that myself. a total disappointment. seemed to not care at all.

About two years ago, I took my car to get an oil change at Goodyear located at 1400, Gervais Street Columbia SC. Before paying I asked if there were any maintenance suggestions that needed to be taken care of. The guy helping me, looked over my receipt and told me there were no suggestions. By 6:00 AM the next morning the oil light came on. I called Goodyear, the manager told me that if I put oil in my car, he will refund me once I got to Goodyear. I didn’t make it to Goodyear, as the car got progressively worse. Later that day, They called and said something to this effect of, "You're going to be unhappy with us, the tech that did the oil change didn't put in an oil filter." He told me that the tech that did this has been in his office crying all morning about it. He said it was unlike this tech to do something like this. I said its Christmas time and people have a lot on their mind. He said that now it would have to go through their insurance company. I was denied. They admitted fault, refunded my $16.00 for the oil I put in that morning, and denied my claim, I was denied by their insurance. I was never made whole. My car died and they didn't even refund the oil change. Update 1/17 I saw Goodyear reached out to me because of my review. I called and ,Surprise! They will not help me. Guess they just wanted to appear helpful. Please go somewhere else. Save yourself.

What I thought would be a week-long recovery for my car, turned out to be three hours! I called ahead of time to let them know of my arrival and issue, and it was promptly taken care of like that! I have been a loyal Good Year customer for over ten years and typically visit the Good Year in NE Columbia. However, due to working downtown, I occasionally stop by the Good Year on Gervais Street for minor services. This is the second time I have visited this particular location after work, seeking a minor service, only to be turned away. Today, I arrived at 5:30 PM and asked if I could have air put in my tires. The employee in the bay informed me that the compressors were turned off. I pointed out that it was still 5:30 PM and according to Google, the store closes at 6:00 PM. He explained that while the office remains open until 6:00 PM, the service bay closes earlier.

Update(7/14/2023) Had an appointment for 9:30am. Went to drop it off. Asked how soon they could have it ready and they said "today." With an appointment and only asking for oil change and tire rotation, "today" is simply unacceptable. They told me they had 5 cars left from yesterday(not confidence inducing for "today") and several people had walked in before I got there(isn't that why I scheduled an appointment?) Ultimately I told them that not having a commitment to a time was simply unacceptable. For me "today" can't be any later than 2pm which should be more than sufficient to even work me in. I asked if I was to stay what they would say and I was advised that I would get the same response. As I said in the previous review, I have always had good service and price here but the time is unbearable. They obviously do a great business as I could barely get in the parking lot. They do a lot of cars for State government offices and I feel like this is the issue. They can't seem to get to the public customer cars. They do good service but this is at least the 3rd time I've left my car and it's taken them ALL DAY to complete simple services. I can't keep using them and reccomneding them when you can't count on getting your car back in reasonable time.

The crew at Goodyear in Columbia to me was one of the best in the region. After having a tire issue on the road I was able to drive to the company. Although I did not call before or schedule an appointment the crew was able to get me in on a busy Saturday as they could tell I was in need of assistance! Had these guys not helped get my car repaired for me on short notice I would have been stranded in Columbia. Not only did they price out the best options they gave sound recommendations for replacement parts to keep my older car running. I am very impressed with the customer service and eagerness to help a veteran! Guys at Goodyear Columbia I salute you for your help on last minute notice to help a fellow out. Thank you!

I brought my car here for brake service late 2024 and had a great experience. Because of that, I returned to have my oil changed in December. I called and tried to make an appointment on the phone, to which the desk worker responded “we only do walk ins, first come first served.” Since they open at 7:30, I arrived at 7:40 to try and be close to first in line and have my car by the time I get off work in downtown. I told them when I dropped it off I would need it by 3. I later returned around 3 to pick up my car, which was not ready. The front desk worker said “We didn’t get to it, sorry we’re busy” and handed me my key. I was annoyed but not surprised since it was a Friday before the holidays. Today, I brought my car in at 7:35 to try and have the oil changed since they didn’t change it last time. Yet again, I returned today around 3:45 to pick it up and my car was in the same spot I dropped it off. I understand missing a car once because you’re busy during the holidays, but the parking lot was empty when I pulled up this morning (January 15th). If you are really “first come first served” then my car would be finished. The employees do not seem to care, and to have this happen to the same person twice seems like a sign I should not return.

They showed concern for my issue and worked to resolve it in a timely manner that also suited my schedule. I had a bulging tire, and they worked with Carmax to get all four tires replaced on my newly purchased used vehicle. They took the time and care needed to get the job done, I appreciate it and will give them all my future business to keep my car maintained properly. My default repair shop downtown. Always responsive, reasonable pricing, and they know their cars. (Had a great chat with one gentleman today about the awe-inspiring durability of American-made vehicles from the mid-2000s.) More than that, these folks are honest. When I had a lot of work that needed doing, they walked me through different pricing scenarios that kept me close to budget. Drove up from Jacksonville to visit my wife for the weekend. Had worn out tires i knew i wouldnt get back home on. So i went in got a price and they had me all wrapped up in the same day . They gave me a better price on a set of name brand tires with 65k warranty than Midas just down the street. Who offerd me a set of no name brand tires with NO warranty for $17 dollars less. So THANK YOU GOODYEAR. Now I can drive with confidence and safety on my way back to Florida. Best shop in Columbia.

What a wonderful experience - I had car issues on my way back from lunch on a Friday (I work downtown) and my car just stopped working. I was able to get it to Goodyear and within 2 hours, they had diagnosed, fixed the issue, and had me back on my way. What a relief to be able to have someone work on your vehicle and be able to trust that things are taken care of, and I don't have to worry about spending the weekend without my vehicle. I will now be a permanent Goodyear customer based solely off of this experience. Chris was so kind and helpful, and kept me updated the whole time. Thank you!!
