Absolute garbage service, time and again, and attitude of the employees is terrible. They are doing you a huge favor to work on your car at exorbitant prices.

Very rude guy, if he doesn't want people to use their EV charger they just showed had added a sign. A kind lady earlier told me I can until this guy showed up when I was about to leave

My window stopped working within a couple of days of the mechanics fixing it. Waiting to see how the service center responds to this issue on Monday.

I was a bit hesitant due to the rather poor reviews, but I had a remarkably good experience! Short wait times, very friendly and professional staff. Overall great experience and I'll definitely come back for future services!

Service went well. My service adviser called me promptly with the estimate and then called me when the work was completed. The process was seamless and easy.

Service lacks the customer service other dealerships have. Everyone seems like they hate their life and job. Not sure what's going on , maybe management isn't the best. Would not recommend

After an appointment gone horribly wrong at the end of 2021 I was contacted by Gwen assuring me she was getting things straight in the service department and even scheduled me an appointment with her as my “advisor”. Let’s just say nothing has changed, my time has once again been wasted (she didn’t show) and I’m back at square 1. Avoid this dealership service department at all costs. If you listen close you can almost hear the circus music. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

On July 4, 2020 I bought a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq from Gerry at Sales and was delighted to learn it comes with 3 year 36,000 mile complementary service. The other day (2022) I came in for regular maintenance at 32k miles. They said my complementary service was expired and wanted to charge me. No explanation of why. I called service the next day to get an explanation and the person kept hanging up on me saying they were going to transfer me to an "advisor". I even called Gerry and left a message hoping he would be able to clear things up but no call back. Overall this is very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend Escondido Hyundai at all.

I can’t tell you how grateful I am, that I found Kyle in the Service department. Him and his team at Hyundai are amazing! I will be coming back as long as my car is on the road. 10 stars are not enough. Thank you Kyle for always having a smile on your face and ready to answer my questions!! Highly recommend Kyle!

The associate who was checking me In was very helpful and kind I forgot her name. There was no appointment available until Friday, so I chose another source. However the representative was very kind and caring. Please thank her again for me. My experience with your service dept has not been the best, so she was a breath of fresh air. I was told repair of the hood release was not covered under warranty and supposedly it is and should be. I will not keep thus hyundai and never buy again.

Not surprised by review score at all after today. First time customer. Hands down worst experience. Staff very friendly but it ends there. Could not make appointment online so called. Was told better to call as they don’t always get the bookings from their website. That should have been my first indicator of what was to come. Arrived on time for oil change appointment and let know I’d be waiting there. After 2 hours and 45 min I walk over to see if my car is done. Sales man approaches me and can’t believe I’ve been there nearly 3 hours. Comes back and says they’re just finishing the paperwork and will just be a couple more minutes. Very convenient. Also said to me “you have to keep on these guys sometimes”. 2nd red flag 20 more minutes and I get a phone call saying my car was ready to be picked up whenever. I let know I’m in their lobby. Sends me over to “pick up” window. Asked woman behind counter if that is why it took so long because they forgot I was waiting there. She said only 1 tech showed up today. Another excuse. Fine if you’re short staffed I truly understand, but set that expectation with your customer that they would be waiting double the usual. Also cost twice as much as ANY other oil change I have ever had. $88 for a freaking hyundai. Will not return again. I understand why every other dealer in San Diego is booked for weeks or even months and this place is wide open.

The person in charge of my car, whom I’ll refer to by initials BM, was very nice via text, and I initially thought my car was in good hands. However, within one week, my car had to go to Hyundai Escondido twice! I needed to take it in for a third time, but I didn’t think it would make it all the way from El Cajon to Escondido. So, I took it to my nearby Firestone instead, where my mechanic was shocked by what he found. The oil dipstick had been tampered with, and he couldn’t measure the oil level because there were no markings on it! What happened to my original dipstick, I have no idea. On top of that, the mechanic at Firestone found very burnt spark plugs and one bad coil. This was surprising since my car had just been at Hyundai Escondido the previous week, and apparently, they didn’t notice this when they replaced one coil and performed a deep cleaning and three recalls! Anyway, Firestone fixed my car for a fraction of the cost. It was literally only a few bucks more for all new spark plugs and one coil. It’s frustrating because replacing one coil at Hyundai Escondido nearly cost the same as all the work I had done today. Here’s a little more about my story: I took my 2017 Hyundai Tucson to the dealership where I originally bought it, Hyundai Escondido, after my mechanic at Firestone suggested I go to a certified Hyundai location. He noticed that my car was burning through oil unusually fast—I was needing an oil change every 1,500 to 2,000 miles, which he said wasn’t typical. On August 19, I had an appointment at Hyundai Escondido. They mentioned my car had a few recalls, so I had them take care of those. Afterward, my car felt fine and was running smoothly. But on the night of August 20, while driving on the freeway, the check engine light started flashing and then turned solid orange. At stops, the car felt like it was pulsing. I scheduled another appointment for August 23, and they found that one of my spark plugs was misfiring, so they replaced a coil. Once again, my car ran smoothly afterward. However, on August 25, while driving, the check engine light started flashing again before turning solid. This time, the car struggled to accelerate, and at stops, it was pulsing again. At this point, I didn’t trust Hyundai Escondido anymore, and I wasn’t sure my car would even make it there. Everything so far seems like a temporary “fix” from Hyundai Escondido. And to top it off, I’m supposed to go back to Hyundai Escondido to check the oil level after 1,000 miles. I’m not sure if that’s a good idea, especially since they somehow replaced my original dipstick with one that has no markings, so it’s impossible to measure the oil!

On Sept 2nd, our vehicle began to squeak very loudly on the rear driver side, and we assumed it was a brake pad issue. On September 3rd we dropped off the vehicle to Hyundai of Escondido's service center because (comment from our maintenance report) "I'm worried the back left brake pad may need to be replaced because I think it squeaks when I drive." Hyundai service center inspected the vehicle and, according to their maintenance report, measured the brake pads at 7mm, inspected the rotors, and found nothing wrong with them. I picked up the vehicle the same day and was told that the brake pads had dust and that they cleaned them, and the squeaking stopped. I then paid as another worker pulled my car out for me. I got into the car and did a U-turn in the lot because the brakes were still squeaking. The service staff then told me that although the brakes may squeak, there is no other issue, and they do not need to be replaced. At this point, I have spoken to two employees, and at least one has driven the vehicle. I am not a car mechanic, so I trusted these professionals. The car continued to squeak, and although it did not get worse, we decided to get a second look at it. This occurred approximately ten weeks and 5,000 miles later. At this second maintenance shop, the mechanic informed us that the rear driver-side rotor was broken, and the brake pad had been worn down to the metal. The brake pads and rotors on the other wheels were fine. I reached out to Shannon Harris to try and clear this up with them because, yet again, I want to give the benefit of the doubt. Shannon informed me that the brake pads measured 7mm and stated that means they had 70% of their life left. Online, it says that brake pads last for 30-70K miles, and 70% of 30k is 21,000 miles. Even though Shannon said it would be possible to wear through them in 5,000 miles, she admitted that she didn't think that was the case. This would also not make sense, given none of the other pads were worn down. Shannon suggested that what could have happened is the noise from the brakes got worse and more constant, causing the rotor to break and the pads to be worn down. However, the noise did not change in intensity. Also, this would have required me to run through 21,000 miles of brake pad life and through the entirety of one rotor, all in the span of 5,000 miles, while the rest of the brake pads and rotors were completely fine. That just does not make any sense whatsoever. Only one set of brakes was squeaking. They stated they inspected the rotor and brake pads, and nothing was wrong. Then, the same brake that has been squeaking also had the rotor break in half and the brake pads wear down to the metal. I would not recommend this service center to anyone with a vehicle concern. Update: Received another email from Shannon in which she told me if the brakes were still squeaking after maintenance then I should have brought the car back in for a second diagnostic. As I told her and mentioned at the top of this review, I did a u-turn in the lot when I heard the brakes squeaking after maintenance. I spoke to two workers who assured me nothing was wrong with my car and that as long as the squeaking did not get worse I did not need to come back in. This directly contradicts what Shannon told me in an email would have been the appropriate advice.

We had a great experience with Alex Villareal at Hyundai Escondido. He was very friendly and helpful, honest, and not pushy – professional. Alex made our Santa Fe test drive enjoyable and informative. We appreciated his straightforward approach, which led to a smooth buying process without any typical dealership "shenanigans." We love our new Santa Fe and highly recommend Alex Villareal for a pleasant and honest car-buying experience.

Over the past few months, I have reached out over 4 times and was given a timeframe when they would reach out. I still have not heard back from them once. Probably because I am trying to schedule a service under paint warranty, and have been told before by a worker that they won’t do it at this location because they lose money (despite later learning they have a paint coordinator for this exact service!) EXTREMELY unprofessional behavior.

Very good at first. Communication was good. Able to get me in fast. Informed me that I had to use a different mileage interval to get the free service. Everything was fine until I went to get my next service to find out that my engine oil canister was rounded off and had to be removed with a band wrench since it wouldn’t come off with a wrench or impact. Now instead of just the price of my oil change I had to come out of pocket to order a new canister then go back to get it installed. Additionally they managed to miss a huge screw in my front drivers tire even after I pointed out tire pressure issues. Long story summarized, I definitely won’t be trusting them for any other service. But 1 star since the oil change did at least get done.

Con artists!! I called before my routine service and specifically asked if there were any fees associated with the oil change. I drive 40 minutes with my 3 year old toddler at 8:00 AM. Once we arrive at the location, I’m told service is not covered until my mileage is at 24,000. I stated the mileage on the phone when I asked about any fees. They have signs everywhere inside the location about being nice to the reps because clearly they have horrible service and upset alot of people. Bait and switch!!
