TLDR: This place literally saved me so much time and a few thousand bucks. I was quoted 4k + labor at a dealership because they couldn't replace the heat shield in my less than 1 yo car without completely replacing the catalytic converter. Last week I accidentally scraped my undercarriage at a car wash and noticed a sheet of metal hanging down. I took it to the dealership and they informed me that the heat shield was damaged. They also said my car was too new for aftermarket parts and that I would have to replace the entire catalytic converter with a new one if I want to get it fix (and that it would cost me 4k plus labor) OR a claim through insurance for collision damage. I came to Irvine Auto Repair for a second opinion and they quickly reassured me that my car was going to be fine, and that they'll take a look regardless. Long story short, they were able to put the part back and I honestly cannot tell that anything was ever amiss. It took all of 20 minutes and they were kind enough to not charge me for the labor or diagnostic! I was at the dealership for 3 hours this morning and left feeling stressed and anxious about driving my car, and now I feel really happy and comfortable knowing that things are back where they belong and especially at no cost to me. I still have a maintenance plan with the dealership but will probably come to this place for other car issues for their honesty, genuineness, and reliability. The friendliness was also a plus!

I would rate this place 10 stars if i could! Julio and his team are straight up amazing and most of all Honest. I brought my 2016 Camaro in for a possible starter issue and alignment. 90 minutes later, he calls and says the cables had a bit of corrosion on em but no need to replace the starter, and the car drives straight, so there is no need for alignment either. I was dreading this and expected to pay at least in the $500 and up range, and the total bill was $56. This place could have easily taken advantage of me, but instead, they used integrity and honesty, and now they have a customer for life! Thank you so much for being an AAA+ business and doing what was needed.

Came here for a smog check a couple years ago and they were super nice. Just walked in and they took care of me. Returned today and the dude was so rude and acted like I was a moron for walking in. Not going back. Also, take caution with these "5 star" reviews. They give you a free t-shirt if you give them a good review.

I live across the street and called around 3:30PM because my battery had died - they immediately offered to send over a tech to jump my car (under no obligation to use their repair services). Kevin arrived within 20 mins, jumped the battery (after tackling a giant spider web), and I could have driven off to the MB dealership as planned for my service apt. I canceled that apt, drove across the street, and had a new battery/complimentary diagnostics w/out any pressure for additional services and was out the door before 5pm. Top notch customer service and professionalism from all gentleman at this establishment. High five guys!

I never want to take my cars anywhere else. It is their skill and integrity. The prices are fair and I am always happy to pay to keep my car in the best shape. I am noting all the services I have ever received! I have been taking mine and my husband’s cars here for years now. I was nearly ripped off at the local Honda dealer, luckily even though I called my insurance, when i thought it wasn't worth it since it was less then my deductible, the insurance negotiated less than half the amount initial price. That is when I found Ronnie’s shop a place I trust. I also got ripped off twice by jiffy lube but never again. I have sat in the Irvine Auto Repair shop next to other loyal customers. Hope I am not shooting myself in the foot by letting my secret out 😉

Irvine Auto Repair is the place to go! I was hesitant at first because us(non mechanics) are always worried about getting screwed. Nope, not here. These guys are professional! They provide a detailed diagnostic on the overall condition of your car. What to look out for in the future and what issues might be a little more urgent. Nothing is done without the customer’s “go ahead.” I had coolant leaking from my car, and they diagnosed the problem immediately. They gave me a great price and were able to fix it same day! If you’re having any type of car issues, come to Irvine Auto Repair! I have a couple other things that need to be done so I’ll definitely be back!

Ronnie and Mitch helped me and were awesome to work with. They were very transparent and explanative and gave me some solid advice. My car is running great now too. They even gave me a ride to my home when my uber app wasn’t working. The only thing is they charge for the diagnostic even if you get the work done there, but I think thats so they pay their workers fairly, so that’s fine.

The gentleman at the front desk was very rude. I don’t know his name, but he appeared to be Hispanic, thin, in his 30s, and wearing a black T-shirt. He did not even look at me when I checked in. He was not welcoming and gave me an attitude when I mentioned that I had a free oil change. I visited on Monday the 16th at around 2:00 PM (please check your records to identify this employee). I hope you can provide additional customer service training to ensure a better experience for future customers. On the other hand, the gentleman who returned my car was very kind and welcoming. He was also Hispanic, a bit shorter, and wearing the shop uniform. He provided excellent customer service — he deserves recognition! Overall, I’m sharing this review to reflect my oil change experience.

I have to say, this is the best, most communicative auto shop I have ever been to. They have a great online texting system that shows pictures of everything they find on your car that needs fixing. I've had the opportunity to work with Irvine Auto Repair on multiple occasions at this point. From Smog Checks to more serious maintain and repairs, they have consistently been thorough with my cars repairs, leaving it feeling better to drive every time. While quality is paramount in my eyes, they also do well to manage expectations and detail what I need to prioritize with my car's repairs. Owning an older car with over 200k miles, maintenance can be a tricky thing to navigate and they do a great job outlining important jobs and calling out "nice to haves" which lets me plan my budget accordingly. Overall, I am incredibly happy and will continue coming to them for my car needs.

I had a great experience here. Michael at the front desk was incredibly helpful and professional. As someone who isn't a native English speaker, I truly appreciated his patience and clear communication. He was honest, transparent about the options, and made sure I was well taken care of. It’s rare to find such trustworthy service. Highly recommend asking for Michael! Thank you Michael💕🙏 However, it's really expensive.
