I went here for a Maryland State inspection. They failed my pickup truck because the strip on the front windshield was about 6 inches while the State limit is 5 inches...fine. The customer service rep was more like a sales guy trying to offer me about a thousand dollars in optional maintenance but only TOLD me to remove the front windshield tint. Two days later. I did it and came back, only to be told that the front passenger side window ALSO failed. Fine, if your guy had told me that the FIRST time. I speak to a manager Jeremy who was so deadpan about the situation that it pissed me off. He could care less about the miscommunication and inconvenience or run around. When he asked me what I wanted him to do about it, I said give me a discount, and he refused. I'm now sitting back at the window tinting facility that I was just at this morning waiting another 45 minutes so they can start a job that could've been completed this morning - and JJ's Auto could care less. They should focus less on sales and more on service.

Outstanding Service – Engine Replacement I can’t say enough great things about the team here! Jamal, Justin, and the entire crew went above and beyond during my recent engine replacement. From start to finish, they were professional, honest, and extremely knowledgeable. Jamal and Justin took the time to work closely with the warranty company and made sure everything was approved without delays. Their communication throughout the process was excellent, and I always felt informed and confident in the work being done. The technicians did an amazing job — the engine runs smooth, and the car feels better than ever. You can tell this team takes pride in their work and stands behind what they do. Even after the repair, when a check engine light came on, they were quick to respond and offered to take a look during my upcoming visit for glass work. That kind of follow-through is rare and much appreciated. If you’re looking for a shop that treats your car like their own and truly values their customers, look no further. Huge thanks again to Jamal, Justin, and the entire team — you’ve earned a customer for life!

I’m not from the Maryland area but was stranded with car troubles due to the snow storm. The team was super helpful and gave excellent customer service. When they do an inspection on your car, they even give videos for comprehension and provide a carfax if you’ve never gotten one. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We took a 2018 F150 in for the ABS light that came on and the leaking brake caliper that they had repaired a few months ago along with the EGR cooler. They told us the caliper was covered by the warranty however everything else we had to pay for which was expected. Once work was completed we went to pick up after dropping more than $3k and before even leaving the parking lot the ABS light was still on so we had to leave it for another week so that they could try and resolve the issue. Before we left we were assured that we wouldn't be incurring any more cost and they would have it fixed. After 4 days they finally call us to let us know that now we need a whole new hub assembly and not just the sensor that they had previously put in and charged us for, they wanted to charge us another $1k. Now after only driving home and parking the truck, running our own scanner on the truck it is showing that an incompatible sensor was installed and some codes for EGR that weren't previously on. I would highly recommend going anywhere else so you dont get ripped off with sub par parts like we have.

Worst experience of my life. I usually take my vehicles to Myers and have for 18 years now. I received a flier from JJ's for a free check engine light diagnostic and have a truck that had an overdrive shifter light blinking. I called to may sure they coul do a diagnostic on my transmission instead of engine and they said yes and to bring it in as soon as possible. I brought it in the same day. They told me while I was there it would take a while instead of a few hours like the guy Kylin said on the phone. So I left it with them and they never called back. I called in the evening the next day and they said "you're the guy with the check engine light on right?" I said "no I have an over drive shifter light blinking. I wanted that diagnosed." He then told me I had a misfire in one of the cylinders and went on and on about things NOT related to the overdrive shifter light blinking. When I asked about the "misfire" he said "sorry if you misheard me but...blah blah blah." I did not mishear anything. I then asked if they diagnosed the transmission and he said it was going to cost over $400 to diagnose. When I said Myers quoted me around $130 to diagnose it he then dropped his price to $220ish. This to me fealt scammy so I said I'll come pick up the truck. When I came the next day to pick it up, I had the same shifter light blinking and a new check engine light on. They proceded to say it came in like that when I know it didn't. I will never use this place again. Please don't believe their advertisements. Nothing is free and I should have known better. I left with more problems than I came in with.

I reserved an appointment online Saturday for Sunday. I was running a little later than my scheduled appointment, so I called and let J.J.'s know I would be a little late. The friendly staff answered the phone told me no problem and to drive safe and they'd see me when I got there. I got there and there was no shortage of cars when I got there. I brought my truck in at a very busy holiday time and i understood that there it would take some time for parts to come in and work to be performed. I called after a couple of days and they updated me on the status of my vehicle. After that initial call I just gave them time to fix my electrical problem and my water pump. They updated me throughout the process. In a little more than a week I got my truck back from more friendly staff and drove it home fine with no problems. I will gladly do business with J.J.'s again for my automotive maintenance needs. Their communication and customer service were to notch. I totally recommend them to anyone seeking a mechanic.

DO NOT GO HERE!! This is by far the WORST place I’ve ever gone to for an oil change. AAA in Brandywine is now permanently closed, so I was looking for a new place to get my car serviced. This was my first time seeing this establishment and I decided to give it a shot. I literally scheduled an oil change at 11am today. They told me the price would be $89, that’s fine. I brought my car there on time, they put my car up not too long after and told me that there was some oil they saw under the car and asked me if I had any oil spillage on the ground at my house. I told them no. They said they wanted to run a full diagnostic of my car, and that would be $199. I reluctantly said yes, because I know that this industry is in it for the money, but maybe this would be an honest organization. They give me a complimentary Lyft home because they said it would take “some time”. Hours pass, I haven’t called, I was patient. They finally call me at 2:49pm and say that I need work done, totaling $2100. I told them I only want my oil changed. They then said they could put me on a payment plan, I reiterate that I only want my oil change. They said they’d knock it out right then. I KNOW HOW LONG OIL CHANGES TAKE. I called them TWICE and both times they made an excuse for why my car hasn’t been finished yet. At this point my car has been at the shop for almost 6 hours, I pull up to the shop, I don’t see my car anywhere, I walk inside and ask the woman at the front desk about my vehicle. She walks to the back and then after about 5 minutes comes out and says they’re about to do my oil change and she’s so sorry……………I literally see them pulling my car back into the shop to put it up. I tell them I want my car back and I want to leave, then she says the only thing you’ll be charged for is $209 for the diagnostic that was ran. I say “so I came here for an $89 oil change, and I’m leaving being charged $209 for a diagnostic, without my car receiving the actual oil change”. She said she doesn’t deal with anything in the back and she’s sorry. No one came out to explain ANYTHING. Sorry for this long winded message but I think it’s important to note a SCAM when you see one. Y’all stay safe and have a happy new year.

These people are a total rip off. I had my 2009 Mercedes Benz S65 AMG towed to there shop September of last year, and they could not figure out what was wrong with my car, for months they begged me to keep my car there and they will figure it out, well they kept my car for over a year and after all that begging me to keep it there, as soon as it got fix I didn't have the money right away to pay them, they put in paperwork for mechanical lien on my car, because they had been inquiring about my car when it first got there, and asking all these questions about buying it and all the questions made me think to how they are doing me now with my car, and I want to know if anyone else has experienced this with these people because that was my dream car and those crooks ran a bill up so steep after having my car for over a year now trying to steal it from me on a mechanical lien. There energy and everything changed after the car got fix, they weren't so nice no more and wasn't trying to work with me like I worked with them as they were begging me to keep my car in there shop, freakn crooks.

This is a valid response to service I received at this location. Respond to J.J's response below: This review reflects a valid customer experience based on several visits to this location (J.J's Auto service center Waldorf, MD). I have already addressed my concerns directly with management. I do not wish to provide additional details or continue further discussion. The review was posted to accurately share my rating, which is permitted under Google’s review guidelines. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this business. If possible, a zero-star rating would best reflect my level of satisfaction. Thank you for your understanding.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Khylin was the main person who serviced my car, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience at JJ’s. I originally came in for a simple tune-up, but thanks to Khylin and his team’s thorough inspection, they found and explained some major leaks I didn’t even know I had. After the work was done, my car feels completely different—in the best way. It drives smoother, runs better, and I’m even getting more miles per gallon now. You can truly feel the difference when a shop takes the time to do things right. Now all I’m missing is a car wash and my car will be all set! Thank you, JJ’s, for taking care of my family and my car. We’ll definitely be back. PS: I also got a-lot of bonus discounts from becoming a new customer. Saved big! Thank you again.

On February 23, 2026, my 2002 Honda Accord VP was towed by AAA to JJ’s Auto after the radiator failed and the vehicle began overheating. I was on my way to work at the hospital and had to coordinate the situation between assignments, which already made the situation stressful. Unfortunately, my experience at JJ’s Auto was extremely disappointing. From the outset, the representative I dealt with was overly talkative and evasive when discussing pricing. I quickly discovered that their pricing was significantly inflated — not only compared to other local repair shops in the Washington, DC area, but even compared to national averages. The quoted cost for parts was three to five times higher than estimates I received from several other reputable local mechanics as well as standard online parts pricing. Additionally, their labor rate was approximately $260 per hour, which is far above typical rates for this type of repair. The initial quote for replacing the radiator was approximately $2,500. As discussions continued, the mechanic appeared eager to identify additional issues, further increasing the projected cost. Due to the excessive pricing, I instructed them to halt all repairs. Despite this, I was charged a “restocking fee” for parts that had not even arrived. I was effectively forced to pay this fee in order to retrieve my vehicle. When I asked for the full name of the business owner, the secretary, Connie, refused to provide it, stating they were “not required” to share that information — an unusual stance for a public-facing business. The manager, Jeremy, was similarly unhelpful. Although he slightly reduced the restocking fee, I still had to pay an unjustified charge to recover my car. Additionally, the repair timeline they proposed was excessive. I was told it could take two to three additional days to complete a radiator replacement — a repair that is commonly completed within the same day. After retrieving my vehicle, I had it moved to another nearby shop, which completed the repair that same day at a far more reasonable price. Overall, my experience with JJ’s Auto was marked by inflated pricing, questionable business practices, poor transparency, and unnecessary delays. I would not recommend this shop based on my experience.

Had an issue with my tires. When I received my vehicle back my front end would shake at highway speed, and it wasn’t doing it before. I spoke with my technician Kaylin, and I scheduled a return. Once returned he kept me informed, when I arrived, he test drove the vehicle. Then we test drove together and I was very happy to see that all matters were fully resolved. I appreciate this young man, because I myself felt appreciated and valued as a customer. Thank you for great service brother.

My husband came with a coolant issue and was told we needed a new radiator. It was 2x the cost of the dealership but because we needed the vehicle for an out of state trip we decided to use your services instead. We received the warranty if anything were to happen after the issue was fixed. The vehicle broke down (due to the issue we brought it in for) while we were out of state, the day we left, and we were left stranded out there. Whenever we called about the vehicle, the shop miraculously always had a power outage. The warranty that said we would be taken care of if we broke down, was of no help. The person who explained it even mentioned coverage if it happens out of state. No one even called the next day to see if we were able to get back on the road. Thankfully, we were able to get back to MD after help from a nice gentleman. When we brought the vehicle back to JJs to let them know the car is still having the same issue after they supposedly fixed it, we were charged another fee (which they refused to waive) to reinspect the vehicle, only to be told that the problem was something else. How was this missed during the initial inspection? How do I know it wasn't intentional to get us to keep coming back? Why didn't the warranty cover the second inspection of the vehicle? I understand that the place is family owned, yes they greet you with a smile, but they are overpriced and in my experience, not reliable when needed (I simply don't believe there's a power outage every time you need them to follow through. And if so, then perhaps it's time to think about an upgrade to systems or a relocation). Overall traumatic experience for newlyweds trying to figure things out.

My experience from the beginning to the end was fantastic. Everyone was pleasant and helpful and made my first experience well worth returning. The young man who walked me out to my vehicle and explain what’s needed to be fixed was amazing. I can’t remember his name maybe Jaden not sure. He also followed up with phone calls keeping me in the loop.

I’m giving them 5 stars because I brought my car in (without an appointment) for some noises that I heard that sounded like I had a flat tire. However my tires weren’t flat. The receptionist greeted me, and told me to help myself to some treats while I waited. I decided to sit outside and wait for my car since the weather was nice. While waiting, for my car to be test driven and inspected, I observed each mechanic interact with their customers and all seemed to have a pleasant attitude, very professional and a willingness to help. I was impressed, even more so when two mechanics saw me sitting outside and approached me to make sure I was being helped. Once my inspection was done, they took me to my car which was on the lift in the service area and they explained to me what was going on. They did not charge me for the inspection and they even provided paperwork that documented their findings. I was impressed with the professionalism, the number of mechanics they had on staff and the friendly service that I received. I also like the fact that they are opened 7 days a week, especially since most shops in my area are closed on Sunday, so this gives me more time to have my car worked on since my weekdays are busy. So thanks to JJ Auto Service Center for making my visit pleasant even without spending a dime. But I’m sure I will be back to get needed repairs done.

Hello, I am so glad to have found this establishment. I only have good things to say about this business and they have been good to me. I researched them before bring my practically new Jeep (at the time) and found them to be courteous, extremely professional. The work I most recently had done wasn’t cheap, but I do feel I received expert service dor the money. There have been 2 occasions when I had slight difficulties with my windshield wipers and I ran over road kill. How about this- -The technicians showed me the issue and I paid nothing for them to make the corrections. That makes me know they want to keep me as a customer.

PEOPLE HEAR ME. J.J.'s is amazing. I went there on a recommendation of a friend for my 2017 Chevy Suburban. I was having some major issues and the check engine light came on then went out once I took it to the dealership. I kept driving it to get the light back on. Once I went to J.J.s and took the free inspection (fee went to overall repair costs), they let me know everything that was wrong with my truck. They didn't just tell me. They sent me digital videos explaining what was wrong. You could see the issues. I found it amazing. Additionally, they dealt personally with my aftermarket warranty company (Carshield). I didn't have to make once call or go back and forth with Carshield. I received updates via calls and texts everyday. I mean EVERYDAY, keeping me abreast of the situation. Once the repairs were scheduled, I received my truck within 2-3 days. Unlike, other establishments, they carry not 1 or 2 year warranties. All their repairs come with a 3 year warranty. I'm telling you J.J.'s is amazing. They have complementary Uber/lyft service within a small mileage radius. Their customer service in impeccable. I am never using the dealership again, and all my vehicles will be serviced by J.J.'s. Everyone there is knowledgeable and professional. If and when you go, ask for Jayden. You will not be disappointed. AMAZING EXPERIENCE, you get what you pay for.

I went to have my safety inspection done. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming. Service was done quickly and the tech came out to meet me and speak to me at the end. His name is Jalen. He was very nice and informative. Very professional and customer friendly. Received a follow up call this morning. I will definitely be using this shop from now on.

I have nothing but good vibes and satisfied with the auto shop. After years of going only thru the dealership for services, I came to the conclusion that I needed a closer location. I had an emergency repair and visited the shop. They were very busy but were able to help me. I am very pleased with the exceptional customer service and more importantly my vehicle is running well. I highly recommend this location. Thank you JJ.*s! Thank you to my service advisor Jayden, Kylen and Mr. Tim and the very nice lady at the front. (My apologies I forgot her name but she is equally important.)

Brought my 2004 Dodge Dakota here to get all my lights working. I was told it would take one day, but it took almost a week. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I also asked them to diagnose and fix the check engine light. That turned into another full week with zero communication. I had to keep calling myself just to get updates, and when someone finally answered they told me they hadn't called because they were busy shooting a commercial. When I finally picked up my truck, they charged me $1,300 -- and the check engine light was still on. I ended up buying my own scanner and confirmed the exact same codes and problems were still there, meaning the issue I paid them to diagnose and repair was never actually fixed. I tried calling back and left voicemails with no response. I even attempted to schedule through their website, but the booking system kept throwing error messages and never confirmed an appointment. A year later, my 2004 Dodge Dakota still has the same problem I originally brought it in for. On top of that, I later discovered my oil drain plug had been loosened and I was told I needed an oil pan gasket that I didn't actually need. Unless it's to issue me a refund for the $1,300 I paid, I want nothing to do with this shop. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend people avoid this place unless you want to waste money and get the runaround.
