Yesterday while leaving the KOA just down the road from this business. I heard a loud grinding from the front drivers side wheel on my motor home. I was sure it was gonna be a pricey wheel bearing repair. But the mechanics at Jim & Tracy's found a stone jammed in the brake shield housing. Out the door for only the cost of the hour labor. And they got me in the same day. Stellar service and honest work. There are still honest people in this world. Way to go Jim & Tracy's

We were on vacation heading to Washington State. We were driving our class C towing a Jeep. We heard a strange noise some miles back that kept getting worse. It was Sunday afternoon, so we knew we wouldn’t be able to get into a shop till Monday. My wife began searching the web for something in the next main city. Lucky us to have found Jim and Tracy’s Alignment. We were at their door when they opened. Even though they were short staffed that day, they took us right in to checkout the problem. Two carrier bearings and 4 u-joints later we were back on the road. We had a lovely wait with our Great Pyrenees, who happily ate yummy dog treats they gave her. Two weeks later we had to make a stop at Jim and Tracy’s to have a defected bearing replaced. The staff was welcoming and in a little while we were ready to head home to Indiana. We recommend this business very highly. If you are in the Billings, MT area and need service or tires for your vehicle, call Jim and Tracy’s.

Had an intake leak in my 2013 Chevy. Made an apointment and showed up at the scheduled time. I sat in the waiting room for about an hour and a half. I got up to see how they were doing, and my Chevy was still sitting in the same spot. I was like really, then the lady at the counter said your truck is repaired. I was very impressed at the swiftness of the repair and recommend this repair shop to anybody

We had a catastrophic engine failure in our RV in Billings. Jim and Tracy's went above and beyond. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. We left feeling like we had been very well taken care of. Cara, Summer and Levi were awesome!

Went in for an alignment explaining I really only needed the camber set. My truck tracked and drove fine. They took my truck in 15 minutes after I got there. Came and got me 45 minutes later after that to tell me they didn't align it because it needed parts. Wouldn't touch it unless I replaced things. Presented me with a $1300 estimate. I left there with no alignment. Another local shop was able to squeeze me in, align my truck and send me on my way citing nothing wrong with my parts. Staff was nice but I probably won't be back.

It is unfortunate that I figured out the full extent of the incompetence of this after the time period I could dispute the charges on my card. I had them replace my ball joint and track arm bushings after picking up my truck found that the steering wheel was way off from where it had been when I brought it in and it didn’t track like I did when I brought it in with bad track arm bushings and ball joints and it had a weird noise that wasn’t there before . They “fixed it, it was tire out of balance ”. I drove it again and although it was better was still not as good as when I originally brought it in with bad items. I took it back and one more time “they fixed it.” Nope still off, I took it back again. Got it back with the “everything is fine.” Annoyed at this point that it was still not riding and tracking like it was with the bad bushing and ball joints I decided to not take it back cause at this point 3 times they couldn’t figure it out. I decided to replace the wheel bearings and found all four bolts only hand tight. Months later they messed up my friend’s van and I was like yeah my truck is still not the same as when I took it in. Fast forward a year later I go for new tires hoping that I is the issue and ask the shop (a different shop) to give everything underneath a good once over when I pick up my truck asked if they found anything. They said yes both track bars where only finger tight this was loose as well and here is how far off your alignment was we took care of it. After 100 miles everything is so much better and I probably could have got many more miles out of my tires but none the less jim & Tracy sent me home from there shop on 3 occasions with finger tight bolts on my hub assembly and many other only finger tight bolts on my lifted ram 2500. I am so lucky that noting bad happened but there was plenty that could have gone wrong after leaving this shop. It could have been my life or yours or one your family’s. I would recommend nobody let anyone from this shop touch your vehicle I know I’m not the only one with this experience.

Asked them to give me a quote on suspension. They said my front end needed done so I made an appointment and asked the lady if they were supposed to do the back, she said they would have looked at both. Had them do my transmission flush while they had the car. They called and asked to replace the control arms with no extra labor charge and I agreed, but they never offered to change rubber mounts with struts. They over charged me by $160, this does not include the parts of the transmission flush which was a waste of money. Got my car back and it was shaking really bad on the right side so I took it in and they said my front axles were bad, even though I wasn’t having that issue before taking my car in. Mind you I told them I was planning on taking my car to Salt Lake City and wanted to know it was safe before even making the first appointment. Took it to Browns and paid for them for a second opinion. They did not properly clean the transmission fluid it’s all still dark so I wasted my money on this. When I called to give them a chance to make it right the shop manager Cara was the most rude person I’ve ever dealt with in customer service, and didn’t feel comfortable taking my car back there after trying push to make an appointment with her. Also the mechanics are clearly incompetent. I asked for a refund and was told I’d get a call back and it’s been 2 weeks now with no call. As far as the shaking on my vehicle which the mechanics here were too dumb to figure out, the 3 times they looked at my car the whole rear needs replaced the axles are buckling and the control arms are broken. Mind you I was not having severe shaking with my vehicle before bringing it in. Even after asking them to make sure my car was safe to drive several times they couldn’t see this? Will not return and will be sharing this experience with as many people as I can. Horrible shop and even worse manager. The lady that answers the phone was about the only pleased experience I had hear, she was kind and patient. Which was appreciated.

I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to.fit me into their schedule but when I went to pick up the car...the bill was insane!! I needed the front struts replaced and I supplied the struts. They charged me 4 hours to replace them. I am an ex mechanic and I know "book" pricing and it is normally double of how long it realistically takes to do anything. They charged me $600 to replace two struts...it takes and hour to an hour and a half max to do that job. They charged me $150 x4 hours. I will never go back there again.

Awesome staff! Very helpful from the beginning of our communication. Before contacting Jim & Tracy’s I went to Midas for an oil change where they told me my control arms were shot and that I shouldn’t even be driving. I was desperate to find a second opinion as I was about to leave and haul a heavy load 900 miles. I have a suspension lift kit previously installed by a shop and was concerned because I would need to custom order those parts. Jim & Tracy’s not only fit me in last minute but told me that the truck was squared away. I would definitely recommend this shop! They could’ve told me the same thing as Midas but instead they were honest. Thanks again!

Had a tire blowout on I-90, right near their shop, was able to hobble over and get in to their shop, and they put on the spare, and helped me from not getting killed on the interstate if I were to change it myself. Very great customer service and professionalism, and didn't charge me for the work they did! Great group of people!

My mom took her car into get an inspection with our mechanic, he found one tie rod needing fixed, and after it was done, she took it to them to get aligned. Since she didn't mention the mechanic, they quoted her she needed both struts, ball joints, control arms, the whole 9 yards. A 2000 dollar repair bill. After double checking with the mechanic, we called back and they put us on hold for 5 mins and then tried to lie to our faces about it. Will not ever take anything to them after that level of dishonesty. If they tell you you need work, go out of your way to have a reputable mechanic check it. To continue and respond. No you tried to lie and get more money. She just had a whole front end inspection and you believe the mechanic missed not one but 2 leaking struts. Not including everything else you said. The best part is your paper you gave her said bearings and once you got called on this you tried to change your story. Your a dirty lying shop who thought you could pull a fast one, and not the first time from what the other reviews show.

Had a vibration issue. Had my truck put in they drive tested it. Said it was tie rods that was causing the vibrations. They changed out the tie rods. I paid $900 thought the issues was fixed I get back the truck. Same issue. Vibration is still there. Had work done that wasn't necessary. Not happy I will never go back here. Again vibration is still there the repairs were still unnecessary to the vibration issues. I only wanted repairs done for the vibration issues nothing else. Still unhappy. I read your response. Still vibration.

I am so grateful for Cara and Charles and the entire team at Jim &Tracy’s! I was in a bind and when I finally got connected with Cara, I was in tears. 5 mechanics and about 30 phone calls of folks giving me the runaround. I thought I needed thousands of $’s of parts, according to the other mechanics, and Charles fixed it with an alignment! Even gave me some suggestions on what I need to replace in the near future. Everything was so organized and efficient. Every single employee was super friendly and knowledgeable. They are dog friendly and allowed my two dogs to wait inside. They could have loaded me up with parts I didn’t need and I would have found a way. But they didn’t! Absolutely recommend to all my friends and family! Thanks you guys!

Beware of double charge with 2 separate “business” run around trick. They got me and then wanted another charge for further diagnosis. Never going back.

Came for a balance and alignment. Was QUITE suspicious when told I needed new brake pads since I changed those myself a month or two ago. Especially since it was part of the rap sheet of why they “couldn’t do the alignment because of bad parts.” Uh. Say what now? Now this here quote I got is nothing if not impressive! But hey - absolutely egregious. Come on now. 3 steering drag links for my 1 drag link vehicle? Nice. At least they admitted the brake pads were fine when I asked them to show me the bad pads. Thanks for fessing up to that part at the very least. Yes, I walked out. And frankly, if my entire front end assembly needed the work they quoted me at here, I’m not certain that they legally could allow me to drive away. It’s a wonder I made it to the shop in the first place! LOL Edit, reply: then why are adjusting sleeves also listed on the parts list? Your response doesn’t make sense. And the quote has brake pads and brake rotor replacement. Not accurate and irrelevant to an alignment entirely.

We were traveling through Billings and needed a alignment on our 2020 Artic Fox 27-5L 5th wheel. We made a appointment for 2 days later while we were at the Yellowstone River Campground which is just down the street from the business. They made the adjustments and explained everything to me. Very professional and a great staff. Keep up the good work.
