I brought in a pretty rough 1969 Camaro and got it back 6 months later with a laxer sharp deep red! The car is AMAZING! So here’s a shout out to John and his crew! I can’t wait to get my car out on the road! Thanks again John!

John is an absolute stud when it comes to the paint game! He just knocked my 68 Bronco out of the park and I wouldn't hesitate to bring any vehicle to him.

Very pleased with the paint work John completed on my motorcycle. Tank, fenders, and other parts came back immaculate, with a very high quality polished finish. Appreciate the care and attention to detail John puts into his work.

John did what he said he was going to do. I had him color match a rare color for a Mercedes-Benz 380sl on a used door. He repaired all the dents and rust on a crusty second hand door and it came out really well. I'm very happy with his work.

All I can say is wow, john match the paint color I need for my son's football helmets and they look 100 times better then last years paint. We use one of them today and my son took a big hit and the helmets looks just as good as when we pick up helmet's no scratches or paint chipping

John is a class act and did an exceptional job on my bike. I am very particular and contacted over 10 custom paint shops to discuss price and credentials to paint my bike. Ultimately, I went with John because of the great reviews, fair price, and the fact that he was just an all around nice guy when we spoke on the phone and in person. His work was exceptional, as if my bike came off the BMW factory floor (honestly better). Price was reasonable and less than all other offers. He quoted me 10 business day turnaround and the bike was ready in just five days. He also worked around my schedule and met me at 10pm to pick up the bike. John clearly understands how personal these things are and he treated my project as if it was his own. If you are like me and trying to diligence the best custom paint shop, just stop here and call John. Not the best picture as it was taken in a car wash at night under bad lighting but even under these conditions you can see how excellent the paint job is and how much the bike pops. I provide my highest recommendation for John and will use him for other projects in the future.

John does amazing work. He painted my dyna tins a candy brandywine and they look like glass. Couldn't be happier and a great price compared to what custom guys are charging these days. Highly recommend.

Amazing to work with!!!! After being taken advantage by the previous painter for my ‘64 GMC project, John didn’t hesitate to step up and take care of me. Not only did he stick to the agreed upon price, he did it in record time. He only had my truck a fraction of the time I expected. Well done John. I will definitely use again. Very professional and a straight shooter.

Updated review: Our happiness did not last very long. What appeared to be too good to be truth, was not. The problems started when we put magnetic tank bag on our painted, “cured” and pinstriped gas tank. After couple of days rough patches/indentations appeared exactly under the magnets. Please check attached photos. It seems paint never got a chance to fully cure. We immediately called John and he offered to repair this “his way” for additional $350. During conversation he revealed that he had problem with drying of glasurite paint and then instead of communicating this with us, he decided on his own to spray clear on top of single stage paint. When we collected the parts he confirmed that all parts were shot single stage without clear which was obvious lie. Only when problems arise, John confessed that he did not follow the agreed procedure. At this point, even if he offered to fix the tank free of charge, we would not go that route since he was not honest and he essentially ruined all other parts by not following single stage procedure. His resolve would be to sand glasurite from the tank and paint and clear it with his paint that is close match while keeping other parts as are. We just could not accept this. Because of lack of trust in his business, we will need to bite the bullet and strip all the parts down to bare material and have it painted again with very expensive glasurite paint but now using respected and trusted paint shop. If you are looking for someone truly capable of doing custom paint work and person who you can trust, learn from our mistake and look somewhere else. One final note, John will make rude jokes about your accent if you are not native speaker. Initial review: We at Airhead Barn recently went through a complete restoration of the 1977 BMW R75/7. Since we are very particular about bikes we restore, it was of utmost importance to find a painter capable of shooting original BMW single stage paint so it looks terrific. Single stage means no clear coat to cover all possible imperfections so you really need to know what are you doing. After spending some time on a phone with John, I got positive answer from him that he can work with BMW glasurite single stage paint. Choosing someone who knows what he is doing is also important because 1qt of this stuff with hardener is ~$600 so no room for mistakes. John painted all parts of our airhead S fairing, also known as bikini or quarter fairing flawlessly in avus black. He also repaired cracked fairing and dinged gas tank. His work is so amazing that you would never tell that this is single stage paint with no clear coat. If you are looking for premium paint job, look no more, John is the guy. Paint work he did has amazing mirror finish and we were so glad to have him worked on our bike. John's price was very competitive.

I sent my almost brand new 2016 Yamaha Stryker over to John. I bought the bike out of state on Cycle Trader and the photos of the bike looked blue. I purchased it after a buddy of mine checked it over for me. After getting it home I hated the color because it was actually purplish-blue in the sunlight. I also really didn’t like the decals either because it looked cheap to me. Anyway John did an outstanding job of painting it black and adding some low profile blue ghost type flames on the tank. I have sense then replaced the pipes and intake as well. One of the photos I posted is of the original color. I absolutely love the work John May did to transform my bike!

Sorry John for the late review... unavoidable circumstances... Anyway, I took all the body pieces to a 2016 Street Glide to John back in 2018 and he did a great job then. Extremely affordable, timely, and work was phenomenal! Very solid and deep looking Candy Red color with a small to medium sized flake in the background. Fast forward to 2024; I decided to change the front fender to a "low profile" style and asked him to match the color. He took the fender and a couple weeks later produced and exact replica paint color. All I can say is he's a master of his craft and any bike build project that I have control of the paint will be going to him and only him. The man knows his stuff! Sadly, I've been out of commission since he finished the work and not capable of providing pics of the new fender mounted, but will as soon as I can. FYI - field pic of the bike is from 2021 and around 25k miles after initial paint job.

John May did a beautiful color match on the front fairing, front fender, and left lower fairing of my Harley-Davidson. It shines like glass, and he even saved the pinstripe! I only wish the rest of my bike looked this good… I might have to take it back. It’s not easy to find someone to do this kind of detailed work, and John’s work is expert-quality. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a professional paint job.

I found John's name on Colorado Cars and Coffee, gave him a call and he was courteous, honest and timely through the whole process. His estimate was damn close considering some issues encountered. The job was worth every penny in my opinion, as we told him it would be a driver and not a garage queen. He gave us a show car and made me wish we did a frame-off! She's glassy!

John did OUTSTANDING work on my wife's 2015 HD Softail Slim. Wife did not like the black stripes in the middle of the fenders and tank and wanted it solid orange. John came highly recommended from a local MC repair shop and John's work did not disappoint. Spent time with John beforehand planning to drop off the parts and paint color. He kept us informed of the work throughout and we were excited to see the finished paint. My wife grew up in an auto mechanic and body family and she has very high standards. She was totally impressed with John's work and finished product. John's work is top notch and I would definitely take work back to him based on his industry reputation for painting and now having firsthand knowledge and experience of working with him on my wife's bike.
