I highly recommend this business .My car broke me down on our way home from a surgery and I was so distraught . K and H stayed open to receive my car from the tow truck and reassured me that they would look at my car first thing the next morning. Everyone was so kind and reassuring . I felt at ease immediately This is the first time I felt in safe hands with a mechanic./ shop . They had my car fixed by noon and it’s running fantastic! I am so deeply grateful. This is a friendly , kind and compassionate business ! Great prices and fantastic work ! Everyone is amazing here! Than you!!

Words cannot begin to explain how AMAZING, SKILLED, DETAILED and DEDICATED this team is. We came into Portland to visit family for the a couple days and the night before we had to leave we began to have issues with our car. We called the night of issues left a message and followed up in the morning and they answered before they were even open. I expressed concern of the issue being the transmission or transmission fluid just based off the problems we had and explained that we were schedueld to leave that day. They heard out our concerns to the end and let us know that although they were busy- we could drop our car off and they would work us in between jobs. We were able to have our car towed to their location and they right off the bat let us know they would look into the issue since not common for our 2012 Rav 4 just to loose/burn fluid like that but also prepared us that if the issue was more of the transmission itself we would have to seek a specialist. I appreciated that because that ultimately managed our expectations 100%. Once dropped off-within the hour we got a call and they had found the transmission fluid leak. To make a long story short, the leak originated from the transmission housing connection to the cv axle. Unfortunately the problem stemmed from a poorly/botched cv axle installation done PRIOR to traveling. Every step of the way these guys explained throughly the issues found, provided detailed pictures, and options in actually fixing the issue. They also did a FANTASTIC job at managing expectations since transmission work ,as we all know, is not easy in the slightest. The job we all thought would be quick and easy turned strenuous and challenging very quickly as a result from someone else's mistakes. They didn't give up on us at all- they were determined to get us on the road safe and sound and nothing less. so much so we saw these guys work so hard that they even forgot to feed themselves! Because not only did they have our headache of a car they still had A WHOLE DAYS worth of repairs. It is not every day that you see such a badass work ethic instilled in the WHOLE staff. Not only that, they are very humble. They do not keep information from you. They let you know everything as they know and explain everything to the T. They are very attentive and ensured we had a place to stay. They even recommended a great ice cream place! (Which was pretty amazing ice cream). They had the car ready and up and running better than before (literally). We had an 8 hour drive and we had NO ISSUES on our way back. We were thinking the car drove even better on our way back. We truly appreciate these gentlemen and they definitely have earned a long term client- even from Idaho- Their work is truly worth every cent. You cannot put price on honesty and reliability. They are deserving of all good things! Best wishes to them! And if I could I would rate them 100 stars! 10/10 Recommend! 👍🏾🤘🏾

Very easy to make an appointment. Brought my car in not really knowing the issue and they found the main issues plus a few other recommendations. I had one of the screws that attached my front license plate to my car come off, leaving it lopsided. One place quoted me $90 to fix it but K&H just had me come in and quickly changed the screw for free. Super grateful for their fast and empathetic service!

UPDATE: I went back to K&H for a re-check of my last service. The part in question was covered under warranty. Ali was amazing! Not only did he rush the repair (day of at no additional cost) and recognize the inconvenience, he stayed late to finish it and dropped the car off at my personal residence. Absolutely incredible service and care. Top notch! Thank you, Ali and K&H! The K&H crew has been an incredible team to work with - prompt responses, great service, and reasonable prices! Highly recommend.

K&H literally saved my life. I drove down from Tacoma to Portland Saturday evening for a quick trip to see my best friend, and as soon as I pulled into downtown my car made the most hideous relentless grinding noise I’ve ever heard. At 5:30pm on a Saturday, I was stressed. I called some mobile services, who couldn’t get me in until Monday and charged anywhere from $700-1200. K & H was a last resort, and literally the only repair shop open on Sunday. They got me in same day, gave me a very reasonable price, and stayed well after close to make sure I wasn’t stranded in Portland overnight. They did not price gouge me for my brake pads and rotators as many do with a BMW. I am so incredibly grateful for their kindness, exceptional service and care. I would absolutely recommend K&H to anyone seeking car services in the Portland area, and THANK YOU for getting me back on the road!!! 🙏

They gave me an estimate over the phone to replace my battery. The battery quoted ended up unavailable, but they stood by their estimate despite installing a more expensive one. They also could have taken advantage of me when I thought I needed to replace a tire, but they checked it and informed me it was fine. And they’re nice guys too!

I’ve been taking my car (2004 Forester) here for about a year now, they’ve replaced spark plugs, radiator, brakes, done a couple of oil changes, and welded my catalytic converter back together. The final price always matches the quote, they get the work done quickly, and they’re always willing to help me understand the problem and the fix. It’s great to have an auto shop I feel like I can trust, they do great work.

So I’ve been going to them consistently for the past two years since I moved to Portland. I’ve gone to them for any mechanical issues, and oil changes and whenever there is a service code on my dashboard. I’ve always set an appointment but today I decided to walk in and they still took me and was still able to complete the services within a reasonable amount of time even though they were really busy. I like the fact that they send you a text with all the estimates of the work that is needed to be done with prices of work that you asked for then you could either approve the services or save it for another date. Go to them you won’t regret it.

My passenger hid headlight bulb on my Jeep Grand Cherokee died and needed replacement. The dealer quoted me $$$ and scheduled me a week away. K&H let me walk in on a Sunday morning and replaced it for a much more reasonable rate. Jawad and team are very capable, honest, friendly and responsive and fixed my headlight bulb in an hour. You'll be surprised how complicated it can be to replace a light bulb on some of these newer cars and I'm glad K&H were there to help.

Needing to go to a garage is something I do not look forward to especially since I do t know much about cars and feel at the “mercy” of the mechanics. The team at K&H auto shop is fantastic. The customer service is second to none and the expertise is clear. My car needed some work done immediately and they took care of what was needed. Never trying to oversell anything. And the car now runs so well and the gas efficiency has improved which I’ll add as a bonus! I highly highly recommend the shop to anyone who’d need work done.

I was having issues with my car starting on a Sunday and needed to have it quickly fixed for the week. Luckily K&H was open on the weekend so I was able to call and make an appointment for first thing in the morning on Monday. They were very easy to talk to and got it fixed by early afternoon. K&H Auto Shop in Portland, Oregon is hands down one of the best auto repair experiences I’ve ever had. They diagnosed and repaired my exhaust leak quickly and with impressive precision, clearly knowing exactly what they were doing from the start. The price they quoted was great and refreshingly low compared to others, and most importantly, it never changed. The work was done quickly and I was in and out the same day. What really sets them apart is that they’re a friendly, family-run business that genuinely cares about their customers. They took the time to advise me on how to better preserve and maintain my engine for the long run, which I truly appreciated. Their communication was excellent throughout the entire process, and they followed through on everything they said they would do. It’s rare to find mechanics this honest, reliable, and professional. I can't say enough how thankful I am that I found this family run shop. I could sense they take great pride in their work, their business and their customer service.
