I am pleased with the results from taking my car to Kayser’s. Even when additional problems were found Samir managed to make things work and beat the price the dealership wanted. I really appreciated the text that followed when I couldn’t take a phone call. If you want to know what is happening with your vehicle and know they are doing it right at a fair price, take it to this shop.

If I could give zero stars, I would. These guys are professional scammers. This isn’t even the first time I’ve brought my car to them—I was a previous client, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I originally went in just to ask if they performed vehicle inspections, and they told me they did. I mentioned the check engine light was on, and they insisted I leave the car with them. Before handing it over, I clearly asked if there would be any cost involved before making any decisions, and they assured me there wouldn’t be. Then it took three days for them to come back with a simple diagnostic report, telling me my car supposedly needed $1,900 in repairs. During that time, they never answered their phone, and I had to go in person every day just to get updates on my car. When I finally decided not to move forward and went to pick up the car, they suddenly charged me an $89 diagnostic fee. I never authorized a full diagnostic—I was just there to inquire about an inspection. The only reason I left the car was because they said there would be no charge for doing so. To make it worse, when I questioned the fee, they claimed they had told me about it beforehand—which is completely untrue. Overall, the experience was frustrating, dishonest, and unprofessional. I expected better as a returning customer. I strongly advise others to stay away.

THE NICEST group of people i have ever been serviced by. Galveston is already hectic and they were able to service me same day ! David is definitely gonna get the job done and communicates as he works which i loved. Sergio , Sonya, and Sam also ensured that the work was being done adequately.

I called this place and asked if they do business with my warranty company. He (Sam) replied yes ma’am. I took my car in and told him my warranty deductible is $100. He asked me to write down the problems I am having. I wrote down and explained my door switch was not working to control the windows and the lights were blinking in the door panel when my headlights were on. I told him my air conditioner was not Blowing cold And he said he would look at it and call me. I gave the warranty phone numbers with my warranty number. He called on Friday to ask me what was wrong with the car again I explained it and then he said he would call me back. He called me on Saturday and informed me that the warranty would not cover a vaporizer coil in the dash and that the charge for that part of the repair would be $1770. I called him back and asked him to fix only the things that were under the warranty and I would deal with the dealership regarding what was not covered. He then told me he was not going to work on the car for the amount the warranty company was willing to pay and I would need to pay him an additional $907. I told him that was unacceptable because he said he would do the warranty work with the warranty company that I had previously told him on the phone and in writing was being used. He also I told me the compressor, condenser, and a few other things were also bad. At that point, I just wanted my car back so he said I would need to pay him $320 for the diagnostic m, Freon, and a UV liquid that he used. I told him that was outrageous and that I would have never had that fee if he hadn’t lied and told me he honored the warranty I provided. Once I arrived at the garage, I was charged $266 for diagnostic, Freon, and UV liquid. He said it isn’t his fault I bought a lemon. I recorded the whole conversation for future reference for my attorney to review and the warranty company is definitely interested in the recording as well. Sam and the whole crew are scam artist! DO NOT TRUST HIM AND DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE!! Sam since you responded with your non sense and you were no where near transparent. You have been put on a do not use list with the warranty company. This was not your first time taking advantage of people. Your lack of intelligence and transparency is showing which pretty much shows me you LACK INTEGRITY as well. Your reviews show you are a complete liar and a scam artist.

Update: 6/30/24: 4 years later and I still use Kayser! I have trusted him with an alternator repair, brake and coolant flush, brake pads, and wheel bearings. One admirable trait is that he is always in a good mood and as we all know, any foreseeable expensive car repair can send your anxiety through the roof. But he is always calm and settles any nerves when breaking the bad news. He has great follow-through when I needed a car part that experienced tons of delays. He called and updated me along the way and was very patient whenever I called with questions. I really appreciated that! I have since learned that he serviced my father last year with his brakes, who also reported that he was pleased with the work with no complaints. Sam has proven to me many times to have integrity, honesty, and I never worry that he is trying to take advantage by upsell or scams. I am very blessed that he is my go-to mechanic and I don't think you will be disappointed either that you chose his shop. April 2020: Wow what can I say! Professional and efficient when I was in a bind. This shop is on Broadway . After receiving a crazy price for a minor service (broken hub stud after a tire change), I decided to get a second opinion. I spotted Sam's shop by chance because I saw a woman standing in the shop. I shared with him that women, especially women that are alone like the assurance of not going to a creepy auto shop and risking being harassed, so I swiveled over and took a chance. Sam was so confident that he could fix my issue and he did! Sam's staff did great work on my car and he told me the work could be up to 90 minutes, but had me out the shop in 45 mins. Sam's price was very reasonable for my budget and I will definitely be back for additional detail services. Women, it is safe place to go if you need to sit alone- the lobby smells good and is clean with refreshments for clients. I felt very comfortable and relaxed there. Thank you Sam for getting me back on the road.

Highly recommended Don't go to this garage! The owner's of this garage dishonest man, and he's completely untrustworthy. He charged me for repairs, but the vehicle problem persists. To make things worse, he damaged the doors, which no longer close automatically. He's dishonest, disrespectful, and has a volatile temper. He lies and doesn't stand by his word. When confronted, he becomes aggressive, shouts, and even tries to start a fight. It's not just about the money; principle and respect matter, but this guy lacks both. If you still want to go there, be warned: you're taking your own risks. Avoid this garage at all costs!

WARNING!!! Enter this business at your own risk, here are some tips to help Company full name: Kayser Automotive Group LLC This company is a LLC, you cannot sue Kayser alone, it has to be filed against the corporation. They do not advertise (LLC) on their sign so you will lose your case if you do not include the above when you file. I found this out in court today. Even though the lawyer didn’t bring up the LLC status, the judge asked him if they were a LLC. He asked him if he had any proof and the lawyer stated “NO”. The judge then stated that’s okay and told me I didn’t have a case because I didn’t file against the right party. When I stated that they did not have LLC on their sign, the judge stated, “It didn’t matter, that’s how they protect themselves against lawsuits.” Be sure to get an itemized statement/ receipt of everything purchased and all work done on your vehicle. You will need them if something is not right after the work has been performed. All I received was the receipt with the part and price which also included the warranty (that was a joke). When I asked the owner why I wasn’t given an itemized work receipt ( during court), he stated, “because you didn’t ask for one.” If it takes more than 3 days to diagnose your car- GO GET YOUR VEHICLE! Mines took 2 weeks to diagnose and 2-3 months to complete repairs. TAKE PHOTOS UNDER YOUR HOOD BEFORE GIVING THEM YOUR CAR! They replaced a new battery that was purchased, prior to putting the car in the shop, with one of theirs and did not inform us at all. My husband called and asked about the battery and the owner stated that the battery did not work. The battery was under warranty. Lastly, I’m just tired of writing so I will wrap this up. He rolled back my mileage on his paperwork to reflect the mileage I would have to have driven for the warranty to not be effective. They proclaim to do jobs (not all) beyond their job skills. IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, DON’T SAY THAT YOU WERE NOT WARNED!!! 7/18/25- Thank you for your response, but it appeared that not even your lawyer knew that your company was a LLC. While this judge felt a need to chastise me for not knowing, it appeared that he turned right around to educate your lawyer on how to get rid of this faster next time it happens. If you want to be forthcoming with your customers and are confident in your work, then add these things to reassure them. I was not a 1 time customer at your shop, I had been coming for years. I trusted that you would have given me not special, but adequate care. This was not about money, this was about principle. There is no further need for response.

My truck kept loosing all its coolant and I couldn’t find the leak. We were in Galveston on vacation. Kaiser’s called the tow truck and fixed it on Memorial Day. I thought their price was reasonable considering where we were. They know what they are doing and are friendly and courteous. The truck made it home (500 miles) with no issues.

I would not place trust in this Auto repair shop. I'm speaking from experience. I had a really bad experience, both from customer service, to repairs made to my truck. I ordered a crate motor for my 1990 Chevrolet Silverado, I paid roughly 6,000 dollars for parts and labor, I never drove it until 2 months ago, 3 years after I paid for the engine. Now, I find it using 1 quart every 500 miles. I now realize I got took. Don't place trust in this buisness, if you do, make extremely sure to check his work and hold him to his word and work. In other words, verify by inspection the parts he claims to have paid for, inspection of installation, if he makes excuses, your on to something.

Over 11 years living in Galveston, we never needed immediate auto repair including towing. A neighbor recommended Kaysar. So, on a Friday evening, after 7pm, when we were to be at a function 2 hours away the next day, Sam called me back. He assured me it would be handled on Saturday and it was by Tuesday we had the car back and turned in our rental early. They diagnosed a strange starter issue that my dealership had not found just a week before, assuming it was the battery. The price was fair and the tow rate was surprisingly low. I highly recommend Sam’s shop.

I needed all four of my shocks replaced, I dropped my car off in the morning & I had it back the same afternoon. Afterwards, my car developed a noise. Due to no fault of their own, when the right rear shock was changed, the spring shifted causing a rubber grommet to move, thereby creating the noise. I took it back to them & even though it wasn't their fault, they put the grommet back in it's place for free. They also kept me informed as to what was going on with car throughout the repairs. They are great people who know how to take care of their customers. I would highly recommend doing business with them, without hesitation.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would . I was recommended by a friend to take my car here . I called to get quotes and make sure they were able to Accommodate my car’s needs providing them with the codes that I had got from a scanner from auto zone. The guy called me back said They were able to tow it from my house to their shop, easy peasy. I didn’t hear back from them for a few days so I called to check in on my car and turns out , they didn’t even start working on my car . When they finally started working on my car , the guy said that I needed a new motor . I was like no way I need a motor the codes were pointing to the camshaft sensor . He then told me that it could just be that and that’s what we went with . Fast forward I get a call saying my car was ready to be picked up . So boom I get to the shop and ask the guy if I can take a look at my car to make sure it would start and that there were no lights on and he told me no , that’s not how it works . That was the first red flag ! So I paid and was given my keys . I get to my car and immediately noticed my front license place was missing , I had scraped on the side of my door , my windshield had a ding in it , and there was a dent on the front of my bumper . Upon me, opening my door and getting in my car cranked but I had lights on that were not on before and my radio also did not work. I went back in to let the guy know, and he just kind of brushed me off and shrugged his shoulders. I have to call non-emergency and file a report and will now be going to small claims court ! They didn’t even offer to fix what what supposed to be fixed by them or what they had additionally messed up ! I hate that this happened to a good hard working mom like me !

I had a really great experience at Kaysers Automotive. From the moment I walked in, they were friendly, honest, and straight to the point. They explained what was going on with my car in a way that actually made sense and didn’t try to upsell me on things I didn’t need. I was also really glad they accept EasyPay because I honestly didn’t have the money upfront for the repair. Being able to finance the job took a lot of stress off me. They work with good credit, bad credit, or even no credit, which helps a lot. Definitely recommend them if you’re looking for a reliable and honest shop.
