The best auto repair and service shop I've ever used. If you have a Lexus or toyota this is the place to go. They saved the transmission on our 2010 rx 350 after a mount pleasant shop over filled it. Just a honest, reliable, capable shop.

The Best! Richard is fantastic and I always enjoy talking to him. Glen is super and an amazing mechanic. Adam is the best and I always love hearing his thoughts about The Citadel. This mechanic shop will always take care of your auto needs!

It can be hard to find places that work on Priuses, but they took great care of mine. I got an oil change and tail light replacement for a very reasonable price (much better than at the dealership). They even kept my car in the garage at night to prevent catalytic converter theft, which I really appreciated!

I have not personally been to this establishment yet, but I did call them recently to ask some questions. The gentleman listened and answered what he could and I appreciate him for that. I'm thinking about using this place in the future and this experience helps me in making that decision. Update: I have been going to this shop since I've purchased my vehicle. So far, they've seen to be honest and straightforward with me and have provided good service to my car. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a Toyota or Lexus vehicle. I appreciate the honesty and good work. Thank you guys. Update: I've been taking my car here for almost 2 years now, and these guys are professional, efficient, and courteous. I trust that they do good work and I do not have any complaints so far. Thanks for all your hard work...

I recommend that you never take your Lexus vehicle to this shop. Mr. Dennis at the front desk will make you feel like he knows it ALL about any Lexus model. When, the truth is, they know what they need say to take full advantage of you. If you don't pay for the problems that they find wrong after the initial check, they will charge you an extra fee on top. Pretty much forcing you to over pay for labor, and even more for the parts. After I confronted Mr. Dennis about the outrageous charge for the part they installed, he told me the part number to look up online. After a thorough search, I found most parts online averaging around $500, even from the Lexus dealership. I was only able to find one part online priced at $750. They charged me $1000 for the part and over $500 for labor. I also now believe that they have vast knowledge on how to tamper with Lexus vehicles. Mr. Dennis also talked excessively about problems that may occur with my vehicle in the future. I believe this was done not to help me maintain my vehicle, only to try and get me to come back and waste more money on up charged parts and labor.

Since I had my first Toyota Avalon, when Lex Tech was on James Island we use there service, now on Savannah Highway still top of the line service, and the best part is Glenn and his team is honest and will not take an advantage of you. I advise anyone to take your vehicle to Lex Tech for repairs. You can really tell this group of men care about their jobs and stand by the quality of there work.

Took me some time, but I had to come back and write a review.. I was in town on a family emergency when my truck went out and would not start. I had my truck towed to this shop at the recommendation of a family friend and had to leave to go back out of town for work for a few days. While away, Richard, kept me updated, was honest, patient and very helpful. I don’t typically trust easily, especially not mechanics, but Richard put me at ease and changed that perception. I was able to get my truck Lexus RX 350 fixed with a quick turn around and at an affordable price. I just wanted to come back to say thank you and leave a review to share the positive experience I had with this company and the great service provided by Richard. Most times we see and hear the negative.. this is the positive.. Hope this help someone in deciding where to take their vehicle..

The gentlemen at LexTech have been beyond helpful and fair as I navigated some repair work on my Toyota Highlander. Richard was communicative and patient with all my questions. I won’t go anywhere else!

I genuinely don't understand why they ('Glenn') would suggest that I go ahead & get codes ran on my Lexus CT200h at my normal mechanic if my normal mechanic doesn't do EV batteries & I told them I thought that was probably going to be an issue since it hadn't been changed in 13 years. The error was 'Check Hybrid System' & I told them that; even if they said it might not be the battery, why not just have me go to LexTech 1st?? My normal mechanic's codes were the battery was going bad & the coolant fan; Lex Tech told me it was only the battery going bad. They suggested not to do a mobile EV battery dealer either saying it would be a mess. Then they quoted 3K+ when I could probably go to the Lexus dealer for that price. I can not afford that, hence why I went to them & a Meineke to begin with. & I'm still having to go with a mobile dealer because I can't do 3K+. I am already down $100 at Meineke & now $195 from LexTech just on codes. How is their coding worth $95 extra & they didn't even get the same codes?? Make it make sense that i'm still in a mess now... **EDIT** Just went to pick it up & I told Richard it was my bad for not asking a ball park estimate of what they thought a new battery/cooling fan would cost if they were to fix both from the codes I had from my Meineke. If i had known it was going to be as much as the lexus dealer or a OEM battery from a mobile dealer, I would have not gone to them in the 1st place. I told him that he understands that I'm out another $200 because of this. He said 'You should have, it's a learning process...you shouldn't go to a Meineke anyway', yet the best businesses I know will give you more info about these things to help you decide. My normal mechanic ALWAYS DOES. The haughtiness on this dude is seething the 3 times I've seen him in person now. To which, the insult added to injury of the $201 bill they just charged me, he also said 'We only use Lexus batteries.' & I told him the 1st guy I spoke with that he said was 'Glenn', cause I didn't have the name, told me that he could have an interstate battery overnight & put in; which I knew wasn't an OEM Lexus battery!! Then Richard says that wasn't the right info & that interstate batteries wouldn't supply that. So, as a business, this is where you admit you've given me faulty info which to make a decision & you comp the code work you've done. Because after I said these things he didn't have much to say because he knew i was right. It's okay though, if they wouldn't own up to their inconsistent operation-- the BBB I'm sure will be glad to mediate. Also, my mom & brother have witnessed all of this & have 3 Toyotas themselves; this isn't a great way to market your business via word of mouth. Just saying...

Great shop! No one wants car trouble while away at the beach but sometimes fate has another plan. When the 4 High light in our 2012 Sequoia started blinking and the LSD light illuminated I knew we had a problem. I use an independent garage at home and wanted to find a local shop in Charleston. Enter Lex Tech. They were clear, knowledgeable and friendly, quickly and inexpensively diagnosing the problem (hello new transfer case) and letting me know the vehicle is safe to drive home so that my local shop can fix it. I particularly appreciated their clear, layman’s explanation of the issue. While I had plenty of auto knowledge, I appreciated their approach and feel confident my wife would have gotten the same treatment if she went there on her own. They provided a quote to complete the repair that was fair and appropriate for the work, and if we were going to be jn town longer I would have been happy to have Lex Tech handle the repair.

The term "good honest mechanic" is a term I would seldom use in todays automotive industry. Dealers, private shops, chain shops - all operate under the guise of helping you, but above all else they are helping themselves to maximize profit. Empathy and morality now lack in the automotive world, at Lex Tech that is not the case. I like to turn my own wrench, and rarely trust anybody to work on my vehicle - my vehicle was making a noise I could not diagnose other than my own intuition, and wanted to verify what the problem was before throwing parts at my Tundra. Glenn (Owner) and his mechanic were honest, transparent, and knowledgeable about everything - but more so were honest on pricing and avoided any hidden costs, fee's, markups, etc. to get me rolling once more. There are not many shops that will give you ALL options on how to move forward with a repair, but LexTech does exactly that. The part prices are "steep" - but they are all Toyota factory Original Equipment. There is an age old saying "buy once, cry once" - the factory parts serve the legendary reliability of Toyota justice, there is a reason the owner provides this option. Glenn the owner is great, customer service above all else. I wish all shops operated with this level of service, quality, and honesty.

I have taken my car here for two very simple things and have had a great experience at a price that reflected other places I've been to. Richard at the desk was polite, communicative, and the place has a professional feel. In one instance I dropped my car off overnight without making an appointment because I thought it was intermittently breaking down. I called the next morning to let them know and they were happy to get to the car when they were able to. I had my car back the same day. Two Ubers driving a Lexus have also had good things to say about Lex Tech.

I brought my aged white Toyota Highlander in for a new radiator yesterday. The shop reeked of professionalism, cleanliness and good intentions. My car was repaired faster and less expensively than the internet or I expected. My 2003 Highlander received the same honor and care as a new model Toyota. The manager came across as honest, well informed, and willing to inform me too. I will take my Toyota here for every repair in the future. That's not saying much, because it is a Toyota. It doesn't need much repair and maintenance. Thanks guys. Thanks from Lake H.

I called about my hybrid and they immediately said I needed a new hybrid battery. Then I came in person; they were absolutely no help and wouldn’t do a proper diagnosis before assuming I needed a new battery. All I wanted was a proper diagnosis and was talked to like I knew nothing about my car. update** did my own diagnosis and it turned out to not be the hybrid battery as i presumed. it was the a/c compressor throwing the p0aa6 code. but according to richard, the battery is the only thing that can throw that code. i just needed a scan tool hooked up like i asked for 🤷♂️

Both times I’ve taken LexTech my Lexus GX460, I’ve been pleased with the pricing, service and professionalism. Perhaps most importantly, I like the confidence that their knowledge of Toyota has given me in regards to maintenance, reliability and longevity. I have never taken a vehicle over 130k miles and they are telling me I can double that with proper service.

Richard and Glenn operate the hands-down best Toyota/Lexus service shop anywhere. They are unquestionably honest and their maintenance and repairs are quality every time. They give great advice and customer education.
