I have been bringing my 2008 Lexus RX hybrid here for a few years now, after becoming dissatisfied with another Lexus dealership in town. I am absolutely thrilled with the level of service they provide. The customer service is excellent, the pricing is fair, and they don’t try to gouge you with unneeded repairs. I especially enjoy working with service advisor Kevin, and Bob and the others with whom I have come in contact are also very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this place and will continue bringing my car there.

My NX450+ was due for a safety recall and a routine service. I booked a week out for an appointment at 8:30. Juggled getting kids to school and arranged to go into work late, and arrived at my appointment at 8:20. After no one came to get me from the waiting area by 8:45, I went to check to see what the hold up was, as I knew it would take a while to get my car checked in and get a courtesy vehicle, and I needed to get to work. Finally someone came out to tell me that they didn't have the part they needed for the recall, so I could pay for the $600+ dollar service and would have to bring it back for the recall when they got the part in 3 days. I asked why it hadn't been ordered when I made my appointment a week ago and they guy said he wasn't sure why they hadn't done that. I decided to leave because I didn't want to have to have my car in the shop twice, so asked them to bring my car back up front. He said it would be up front in "3-5 minutes." It took 20 MINUTES (!!!!) to get my car back from the shop in the back. I was just standing there waiting and waiting, asking multiple people to go get my car. Later I got a text notification from someone that said, "it looks like you missed your appointment with us, would you like me to reschedule that?" I texted back that I would like a manager to call me and she said she'd have one do that, but that never happened. I will not be returning to this location, nor will any of my family of Lexus owners. I really thought they would offer me a discount on my service or something, but there was zero customer service or any desire to make things right for their error.

If you’re thinking of trusting Lexus El Cajon with your car - Don’t. I’ve been a Lexus owner for years and gave this dealership too many chances out of convenience. I wish I hadn’t. My latest experience was the final straw. They promised me a loaner vehicle when I towed my car in, only to deny it when I arrived. The excuses kept changing. First it wasn’t ready, then suddenly I wasn’t eligible at all, despite what they’d told me days before. I wasted an entire day off work based on their empty promises, without so much as an apology. Their communication is an absolute mess. Even after I told them repeatedly to contact me directly, they kept sending updates to my daughter. This forced us to coordinate around their disorganization. But here’s what’s worse: they quoted me over $10,000 in repairs, essentially suggesting my car wasn’t worth fixing. After getting honest second opinions, the actual necessary repairs cost me under $1,500. That’s not a small mistake. That’s predatory. And it wasn’t the first time. Years ago, they charged me nearly $1,000 to replace my transmission fluid. Yet during a recent inspection, an independent specialist informed me there was no evidence the fluid had ever been serviced. This raises serious questions about whether that work was ever done at all. That neglect likely contributed to the current transmission issues they now sought to charge me thousands to repair. There was also an incident where they began repairs on my car without my authorization. I had to personally intervene to stop the work. Only then was a discount offered, once it was clear I wouldn’t simply go along with it. They’ll lay on the politeness thick whenever they get caught, like it’s supposed to make you forget what just happened. And frankly, these aren’t the only issues we’ve experienced with this dealership over the years, there’s way more, but I’d be here all day if I listed them all. This is simply the pattern that finally pushed me to speak out. Looking back, I see a clear pattern: disorganization, dishonesty, and no regard for the customer. It’s no surprise they currently hold an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. This place will waste your time, your money, and your trust.

Just a heads-up to anyone in the neighborhood - be careful if you’re thinking of taking your car to Lexus El Cajon. They might look polished and professional, but my experience tells a very different story. I brought my car in for a simple oil change. After their initial inspection, they tried to sell me on extra services I didn’t need. I declined. Then magically, an hour later, I got a call saying my brake fluid now needed “urgent” replacement, even though they hadn’t mentioned it before. Nothing had changed except that I said no. Not to mention my brake fluid was just changed less than a year ago. When I came to pick up my car, the advisor was polite but distant, like he just wanted me out the door. He pointed out the brake fluid they replaced, like that proved the upsell was necessary, but honestly, what am I supposed to do with that as a customer? I felt pressured and cornered because brakes are a safety issue, so of course I said yes. But it felt shady. To top it off, he almost forgot to close my hood, and I had to remind him. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this behavior either. During my mom’s visits, they’ve messed up communication, made promises they didn’t keep, and gave her the runaround more than once. All of it paints a clear picture: they don’t care about long-term customers, just how much they can get out of you in one visit. If you care about honest, straightforward service, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
