It’s so nice to have a fantastic local independent auto shop. I dropped off my car last minute with a laundry list of things, and Lioe’s turned it around the same day! Obviously that might not always be possible, but they’ll work with you to get it done as soon as they have the availability. When they find extra items that need fixing, they’re very good about getting in touch with you so that everyone’s on the same page. They’ll also make note of non-critical future repairs for you to consider. Overall, fantastic local business that I’m stoked to support!

Exceptional service and quick turnaround. I have a Lexus and the cost for regular maintenance is much less expensive here than the dealership. If additional service is required they will promptly call and provide options. I was nervous at first since my late husband always took care of this, but they always answer my questions and offer options. I now live 40 mins away but will always come here for service. I’ve had Lioe’s work on a few vehicles of mine (2003 Subaru WRX, 2016 Subaru Outback, 2021 Ford F150). Nothing major - loose suspension, 30k service, pre buy inspection, brakes, …. Overall I think they do great work and have a great reputation in the neighborhood as a trustworthy shop. That says a lot and is why I gave them a shot in the first place. I’m pretty handy and while I’ll bring vehicles here again in the future for some services, I’ll specifically ask them to not touch some things that are easy enough for me to do and cost more than I like to pay to have them complete (wipers, air/cabin filters, some fluids, etc). This isn’t unique to Lioes’s but just something I’ve decided on going forward with auto shops. I know people are often shocked by the cost of having shops do work on their vehicles, and just wanted to share that even when working with good/not the cheapest shops that this can be managed if desired by taking on some easy to accomplish tasks yourself.

Had a leaking fluid bypass pipe that needed to be replaced on my Toyota Tacoma. Took it to Lioe's because of some good reviews. Told them what the problem was an what needed to be done but they said they would inspect themselves before giving me a quote. When I got the quote it was $1126 which was too much for a 2.5 hour job with about $100 worth of parts and fluid. They still charged me $160 for diagnosing the problem which I had already explained to them and should have taken them 5 minutes to diagnose. Ended up have it fixed in Fife for $500. I'm sure they do quality work and seem very competent but was not happy with the charge for diagnosis or the bid. $200/hour is what the dealer charges and independents should be more reasonable. And parts were $340 and cost me about $100 and OEM at that.

Final Review (1 Star): I have changed my review from two stars to one. After allowing more than a week for a response, I received nothing. No phone call, no email, not even an acknowledgment here. This silence only confirms the validity of my earlier concerns. If you find yourself in an emergency, their services may suffice; but for continued care, I strongly advise caution, unless you are prepared to be taken advantage of. Edit: After years of bringing my vehicles here and spending more than $4,000 on repairs, timing belt, spark plugs, brakes, and more, I picked up my car only to discover the alternator was failing. The battery light appeared after only a few drives, followed by loss of power on the freeway at night. When I called the next morning to arrange a simple installation an alternator, I was met with condescension. The individual on the phone questioned whether I “even knew what was wrong” and insisted on a full diagnosis next week. Having just received the car back from them, I find it unacceptable that such an obvious issue went unnoticed, and worse, that there was no urgency in correcting it. This shop is quick to provide expensive recommendations but slow to take responsibility for basic, essential service. What I once believed to be a reputable establishment now appears to value revenue over integrity. Original Post (Now Outdated): In earlier years, this garage was prompt and dependable. They serviced my Saab, providing fair prices for an oil change and air sensor replacement. Later, when I purchased an older RL, they performed larger repairs: brakes, timing belt, and water pump. As well as thoroughly inspecting the vehicle, resolving discrepancies along the way. At that time, I was glad to have them nearby and intended to remain a loyal customer. Unfortunately, their recent conduct has erased that confidence entirely.

I’m really disappointed with the service I received here. Before bringing my car in, I called to confirm they had time that day to take a look at it. I was told they did, so I arranged my schedule, took time off work, and dropped the car off early in the morning. By late afternoon—close to their closing time—I still hadn’t heard anything. When I went back to check in person, I was told they hadn’t even looked at my car yet. The explanation I got was that “this is just how it is” and that customers are expected to drop off their cars and potentially wait an entire day with no update, even if they were told differently over the phone. The lack of communication and disregard for customers’ time is really frustrating. I lost a whole day waiting for something they never even started. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend this shop and won’t be returning.

If you need slight work done quickly, this place can do it. It will be slightly overpriced though, so make sure you have them give you a detailed invoice before you agree to have the work done. Ask for pictures of your vehicle before, during and after the service. They will not do either of these things without being pressed to do so, even though they absolutely should. They will wait until after the service is done to show you an itemized bill and certainly expect you to pay for it all without a fuss. Lioe's as a whole wasn't an awful experience. They always fit me into their schedule very quickly and got the work done within a day, although I didn't have any major repairs done here. They charge more per hour than other shops in the area, and do not provide pre-purchase price breakdowns to customers before the work is approved. I was met with an egregious bill after getting some fluids changed that, had they provided me with an invoice like any reputable service provider would, I'd have spread out over time as none of the work was critical. Of course, it's also my responsibility to be diligent as a buyer, however this does not excuse their decisions.

ALOHA SPIRT! Lioe's is the best! They are family oriented and really the best expert mechanics in our neighborhood. They did a complete job on a pre-purchase inspection I was going to buy. They advised me to keep looking. I expect to pay for great service pulling a skilled mechanic away from his job to review and analyze the car i was looking at. I have serviced my cars here before and always the best job done. They are busy and to my surprise they gifted me such Aloha spirit and Uncle didn't charge me as a repeat customer for the pre inspection. They charge 90 to 160 for inspection.
