Love the service at Matt's Automotive! Haley was great to work with and took the time to explain the services recommended from their thorough inspection and why they are important.

I've been going here as a new driver for about 2 years now. They do an inspection of everything then send you a list online that show pictures, how important it is that something be fixed, a price estimate with a breakdown, and you can accept or deny it right on your phone. They are very transparent and just super super nice. They got a good waiting room as well. Good prices and great atmosphere. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Left my car to be looked over and ended up picking it right back up as the lady at the reception desk was not very good at communicating on top of she was rude. They wanted to over charge us to look at it $500 to hook it up to there super expensive computer. We got a second opinion with Dale at Pit Stop and a sensor needed cleaning is all and was ONLY $140 and was done in 2 hours! Matt's Automotive Service Center is rip off.

Despite claiming to be the "new standard in the automotive repair industry" this was one of the worst experiences I've had with any business. I brought my wife's Toyota Camry in for an oil change and to check the brakes for a noise we were hearing. They inspected all the brakes and found one of the rear pads to be misaligned and required replacement but said the rest of them were perfect with no issues. During this visit they also said the the oil pan gasket was leaking and that we should have that replaced at our next oil change. With a new set of rear brakes we brought the car home and starting noticing oil leaks on the garage floor/driveway - something that was not seen before the visit - as well as a new noise coming from the rear brakes. We brought it back in and they insisted that the noise was coming from the front and did another inspection and found that the front pads and rotors were completely worn. I'm not sure how a set of brakes goes from "perfectly fine" to "completely worn" in a couple weeks. After going back and forth with the manager, I just decided to have them replaced and be done with it. I brought it home and STILL heard the noise from the rear brakes and the car was leaking profusely from under the engine. Assuming this to be the oil pan gasket they quoted at the first visit, I brought it to another mechanic for another quote. During their inspection, they found that it was not the oil pan gasket but rather the oil filter housing was cracked from the last time it was put on (by Matt's). This other mechanic replaced the housing and topped off the oil. Then, I brought it back to Matt's for the brake noise and they finally agreed to look at the rear brakes that they just installed and found a "hardware failure" that required ANOTHER complete pad and rotor replacement. Also, they did not own up to the cracked filter housing and refused to offer any reimbursement or future discount despite me showing them the paperwork from the other mechanic. Long story short, 5 weeks and $1400 later I finally have a set of brakes and an oil change. Very disappointing.

I can appreciate the customer service at Matt’s auto, everyone was always super nice and I like that we can text as a form of communication. But..There was a loud noise coming from the rear end of my car when I took it in about 3 months ago. I knew the noise I was looking to fix was not the breaks as I further told them they need to drive the car around to hear the said noise. A few hours later they ensure me it’s the breaks that need to be replaced and everything should be good to go, I followed through with buying the breaks because they said “they were metal on metal”. But obviously I get in my car a few hours later and it’s still making the noise. I go back a couple of days ago to fix again the noise I originally came in for. They finally find that it’s the rear rotors, which they have to look at when changing my rear breaks. So I paid double the amount of labor cost than I should have when it should have been an easier fix than it was. I will say they gave me half off the labor for the rotors which was appreciated but at the end of the day I believe I should not have paid for labor at all. So after picking up my car the last time I drive from Matt’s to my work where my car was parked for 4 hours. I turn my car on to head home, and there are 8 different lights on, my break is stiff and I can barely turn the stirring wheel. So I call Matt’s back and explain to them what’s happening and they essentially say that it was nothing they did, which how can that be when this NEW problem was never a problem to begin with. I’ve never left a mean review for any business but at the end of the day this situation is ridiculous, I spent all of this money for them to FIX my car when now I can’t even drive it. Thankyou and I’m sorry for being rude but at the end of the day it’s the truth.

Matt's auto is really a nice place to bring your vehicle. I'm actually making another apt. this week. I was so impressed with no pressures to fix everything that was wrong like the dealerships do. I will go back to fix what is wrong. Just felt more in charge of my own options.

Due to less then trustworthy service at a local dealership shop I opted to give Matt's Auto a try starting back years ago because of the great reviews and they appear to be an awesome locally owned business. I have been very happy for many years until last year my suspicion was validated something amiss occured with Matt's on 32nd. My summer car that never saw a winter was really squeaky when braking. I do my own brakes and just replaced them the year prior so knew my blue baby needed some more work. I needed her rotors replaced. We had moved into a new house with a newer career, so I really did not have the time to do it myself. Because of how happy I have been with their work over the years I had no reservations entrusting Matt's with my Chrysler. A good chunk of change later, I was noticing the squeak was not going away after the rotors and brakes (better to put on new brakes with new rotors) were replaced and there was now a new sound giving me concern at the front. I called Matt's, no problem to bring it in. Always super kind. They kept it for a day and told me they didn't find any issues. I ended up taking it to a neutral mechanic because I was becoming increasingly concerned. To me the rotors looked rusty dusty and in similar condition of the ones that were originally on there. The neutral mechanic did not say the parts were not replaced but did say if they were replaced the car received cheap parts that were not the best for my specific car. Because of this I had not been back to Matt's this past summer and will likely not go back as now there is a mistrust in quality of work. Very disappointing as I had such great experiences until this point. 😪

Had an oil change here. Came out to a puddle of oil on garage floor next morning. Called to let them know. They didn't seem to care. This was at the 1617 32nd ave s Fargo location.

They did a good job on the brakes. Appreciate their inspection. Showed an issue under warranty. Price was high compared to the dealership but they were fast and had good customer service.

I would not recommend Matt’s automotive to anyone! It deserves zero stars. I paid them over 4,000 dollars in repairs just to get my vehicle back with more issues then it went in with. I left their lot just for my car to die blocks away from their shop come to find out they gave me my car back with a failing alternator and that’s no where near why I brought my car in! I called and spoke to Jenni which who has TERRIBLE customer service. I expressed my concerns with her and that no mechanic should’ve let me drive away with my car in that condition, it put me and my kids lives in danger, we could’ve gotten in a serious accident, she did not care she did not show any sympathy. I even told her that when I was there to get my car a mechanic had to drive it up to the garage to fill air in my tires and she wants to tell me a mechanic couldn’t tell the alternator was about to fail on me? Maybe they should hire people who know what they’re doing. At this point they’re just doing it for the money and taking advantage of people! I told her I wanted someone above her to call me and to no surprise no one did. And the slick comments she was making to me on the phone was beyond me! Overpriced work. Terrible customer service. Don’t waste your time here. There’s other mechanics in town that won’t screw you over or over charge you. STAY FAR AWAY.

Overpriced and paying for the brand. They quoted me $250.17 to remove and replace my trunk lift supports on a Chevy Malibu trunk with no special fetures. A friend who does autobody in town sent me a link for the parts, which cost me $47.95, and it took him literally 1min per support to remove and replace. Trunk works perfect again. With Matt's math, I would have paid $202.22 for 2min of work....will not return.

Very helpful, friendly and skilled staff from beginning to end. They have my vehicle a great inspection and went through a detailed process going through all the work that needed to be done, and gave me a detailed estimate. And the work was great!! My 2011 Ford Escape is in great shape now, plus we identified some things to be done later. Thanks!
