What a disappointment!!! I had the timing belt, water pump and components replaced. FOUR days, ONLY FOUR, after getting my vehicle back the car died. the worst part being I was visiting a friend in Baltimore. However I was willing to rate them highly and disregard one persons discrimination of my lifestyle because sometimes things happen, parts fail etc. They working team was great, the receptionist was very nice and helpful to as so much provide me with a ride to my rental car provider near the mall. The mechanic I was able to speak with on several occasions was very nice. He even took me to the car showed me the issue, and explained the process which I was the reason I had taken the car into a shop at all. I thank both of them for their STRONG customer service. The one person whom I had reoccurring issues with was consistently rude, with a bullies demeanor when we spoke. He questioned my knowledge of vehicle maintenance and belittled every answer I provided of the vehicles history and issue. When the car was returned, I hadn't even got home when there was an issue with the passenger side. I had investigated and found a bolt missing from the brake system and has etched a groove to the inner wall of the rim. The car has been since been placed back into responsibility of the McGhee repair shop. My car was taken to a dealership for diagnosis when it was revealed the damage caused, and in addition to the timing belt, there was extensive damage relating back to the timing belt failure. The vehicle has been in their possession for 2 WEEKS and has jot even been looked at plus the shop is now not answering any of my phone calls.

Was not pleased with this business. Their prices are too high and their staff are rude.I was cursed at by the man at the desk after asking for warranty information concerning their work. They did not keep me informed on my truck's status but I had to keep calling them. They changed the oil without being asked and then chastised me for putting the wrong oil in my truck. I have owned the truck for 20 years and know what type of oil it uses but not according to their front desk man. I checked with the state of Maryland and this business is in FORFEITURE status. They have not provided relevant paperwork for 16 years. I will be calling the state.

Me and my family member were stranded (out of Gas) in the 90+ degree hot summer last week, and this wonderful gentleman came out of the bank and proceeded to take me to get gas and returned me safely back to my car. I found this place on Google because the reviews were very good. I had an estimate for front brakes and rotors from another company for $900. I went to this place today, and they told me that my brakes were fine, and all I needed to do was change the rotors. They gave me two choices. They can file the ones I had,but it would last about three to four months,or change it completely. The price the quoted me was very reasonable. It's so hard to find trustworthy mechanics these days,but I found one!!!. McGhee's Auto Service!!! You should get ****** You deserve 6 stars! Mr McGhee,the owner was very nice. He even drove me around the corner,so I can get buy myself something to eat while I wait. Keep up the good work guys!! Honesty pays off. Your business will keep on being prosperous!! I am extremely picky when it comes to my vehicles and typically nobody touches them but me, but when some lady crashed into my car I had to choose somewhere to have the repairs done on Geico's dime. I got a good vibe from this place when I had a couple of my vehicles' inspections done here in the past, so I had them do the repairs from the accident. They did a great job, they communicated with me really well throughout the process, the customer service was above and beyond, and they even called a couple of weeks after the truck left the shop to make sure everything was still going well with the truck. This place is the real deal and I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Just had my car serviced at McGhee's Auto Service in Waldrof, MD again. They do an excellent job, I got an oil and filter change, rotate and balance tires, buffed my headlights, replaced wiper blades and replaced battery. All at a reasonable price. The personnel at McGhee's are very friendly and helpful. If I have a question about my car, they usually have an answer for me. I really trust McGhee's, good people.

Sometimes if you put a new part on an old piece of equipment, you will run into problems later. They know what needs to be fixed or replaced to keep you on the road. It was an absolute positive experience dealing with McGhee's. My check engine light came on last week. I called a garage in Waldorf to schedule an appointment. I explained I could not leave my car overnight as they insisted I needed to do. The lady gave me appointment for the following week and told me to bring something to do because I'd be there for a while. She also tried to give me a hard time about keeping up with servicing my car (which I have kept up with). I was truly turned off and annoyed. I then decided to call McGhee's. They scheduled me for first thing the next morning. I then called back the other place and canceled. When I got to McGhee's my check engine light was off so they couldn't do the diagnostic. They told me to stop by if it came back on. Well, it came back on today. I stopped by unannounced and no appointment. I was immediately helped. The diagnostic was completed and two mechanics looked over the issue. They even filled my windshield wiper fluid and put a little oil where my hood latches. I was ensured it was safe to drive my car and my light was reset. They couldn't find a leaking hose. When I asked how much I owed (knowing a diagnostic costs anywhere between $75 - $100) I was told I owed nothing! I couldn't believe it. I did tip which he didnt want to take but I pushed the money in to his hand! If you need any work on your vehicle I highly recommend McGhee's!

I ONLY trust McGhee's Auto Service for all of the car needs! The staff is friendly, professional and very willing to help. They go above and Beyond to get you the best service for what you need. They are also very honest, and their prices are realistic and affordable. They have helped me in many jams, and gave me the best prices on things like synthetic oil changes, tires, and general maintenance. The mechanics there are definitely top notch, and have shown some of the best expertise in automotive maintenance that I have ever encountered. I will never go to another auto service shop in Southern Maryland. McGhee's is where it's at!

I don't do online reviews, but for these guys I make an exception. I drive an hour each way to get to them and am willing to pay the deductible on their service as opposed to the dealer's free service. Their pricing structure is competitive with others, often better. But honestly, you can't buy trust. These guys have earned mine. They don't try to force a repair on you if you don't need it and the work they do has always been top notch. Who ever heard of a dealer advising against a repair? Well these guys did. Can't tell you how many OTHER shops have wanted to do extra work on my car that would've cost me a bundle...mine is a performance rally car so the parts and labor are always crazy expensive. They're also careful about not getting you into heavy diagnosis fees, attempting to locate the problem as quickly and accurately as possible without tearing the car apart and charging you a ton (like other shops have). I've found service on things as simple as an oil change can be hit or miss with a dealer. Not these guys...they pay attention to details and they're very friendly chaps too. Waldorf isn't exactly a tourist attraction, but this shop is worth the drive. Update : been across the country now and still haven't found a better mechanic. I've never missed a mechanic before, but these guys are phenomenal people.

When I say all the individuals at McGhee’s Auto are my people they are part of my soul tribe (smile). They have never made me pay for something I did not need. I have been in at times thinking I needed a certain service, they have check to make sure that is what I needed first. They are honest and down to earth. I have been to mechanic shops and they will charge me for something I don’t need or add on extra services. I really like how when I do come in for services they ask “well what makes you think you need that service, what are you experiencing”? Shout out to Jimmy, Mike, and Jim my mechanic

He’s super sweet and was very thorough with my car. He told me other things that my car would need fixing on in the future. They were honest about what I needed done and trustworthy.
