Dropped vehicle off to have new muffler installed after inspection at regular garage noted it needed to be done to pass inspection but regular garage does not do exhaust work. No other issues. When I was contacted by Meineke I was told I also had substantial fuel leak. I picked car up as I did not want them touching my car for any other work than the muffler. Fuel leak was not there before Meineke did their replacement and leak occurred immediately adjacent to where they worked. BTW they also butcher my heat shield. Looks like they cut it with a pair of garden shears. They claim leak was already present but would fix for $800 additional dollars. Car never previously smelled like gas and never leaked. Now there is a pool of fuel on the ground. Poor workmanship and would not accept responsibility. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!

The gentlemen at this place were very kind, accommodating and helpful. As a girl I am not good with car maintenance and honestly it stresses me out but one of the gentlemen kindly walked me through all the maintenance I needed and which order I should it in making sure I wasn’t very stressed. I was also having a shit weekend but they helped to make it better… so I thank the team for their support and services.

First time taking my Subaru to a Meineke Car Car Center and it was a good experience. My catalytic converter was damaged and had to be replaced. Their team inspected it, clearly and professionally shared the findings and estimated costs. I also liked the system they use to provide photos and a detailed description of their inspection points. They knocked out the work in just a couple hours. I was happy to have it done quick and at half the cost of what Casey Subaru wanted to charge me! Saved a lot of money and it was a positive experience.

Hello, I was very disappointed with the service. I went there for the oil change and tire rotation. So I dropped my car off early that morning. When I returned after 1 pm, it still wasn't ready. So I waited an additional 20 mins. Their computer system was down, and would not accept any payments. He wanted to hold my car until they fixed it. I was really irritated and waited an additional 20 mins or so. After I finally left, I realized that they didn't even rotate my tires after having my car for over four hours.

Review / Complaint I paid for a professional alignment service here, but unfortunately the job was not done correctly. When I first brought my car, the steering wheel was straight but the car was pulling slightly to the left. After their alignment, the steering wheel ended up off-center. When I pointed this out, the manager told me that the problem came from my tires, even though they are almost new (less than 3,000 miles). He scanned them and claimed that a 1 mm difference in tread depth was the cause, and suggested I rotate the front tires. I went to a second shop to double-check, and the owner there confirmed that this explanation makes no sense: the steering wheel must be centered and locked before alignment. In the end, I paid a high price for a poor job and the shop refused to take responsibility. Very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this place until they improve the quality of their work and their customer service.

The employees aren’t overly pushy on trying to upsell or get extra things done while also being very informative of future maintenance that should be checked/repaired. 3 Hours and 25 minutes on an inspection they were not busy. They quoted me one hour continuously let friends and buddies slide In to get oil changes when I complained, after the three hour mark, they spend an additional 25 minutes doing nothing standing around. I watched them just to push the point that they had control. you’d be a mistake to ever go here and try to get anything done very unprofessional. Terrible experience would not recommend them.

I've been bringing my vehicle to this Meineke location for YEARS. Not only is their customer service phenomenal but they're honest and knowledgeable. They LISTEN to their customers and work with you whether you need a loaner vehicle, a payment plan or just have questions. My entire life I've had horrendous experiences with vehicle maintenance/auto body shops...until I started going here. I appreciate the WHOLE crew from Rich, all the way down to the guys singing in the shop! Thank you for restoring my faith in mechanics!

Went in needing all 4 tires with an alignmeI couldnt be more happy with how well my vehicle handles now. Very professional, friendly, down to earth employees. No nonsense and didnt try to up sell. They were quick and straight to the point. My only complaint (and something thats totally out of meinekes control) is having to wait over the weekend for new tires to be delivered due to the suppliers not holding up their delivery dates. But again, its how it goes in the automotive business and theres not much any shop can do about that. So 5 stars for being the shop they are! Thanks guys.

Customer service when asked to speak to the inspector the inspector would not come out and speak to me to explain what failed and what did not fail stated rust on the brake rotor. There’s a failure stated brake pads failed in one common area then brake pads will properly move into intolerance in another area in your iPad AI and inspector do not agree on what the comments are very confusing to know what I had to have repaired .the car is now in the shop being repaired and the items that supposedly failed are being repaired and not being replaced because they did not need to be replaced. Tell me a brand new engine that was installed is leaking oil and coolant fluid took it back to the installer the oil is at the same level as it was before I drove it to your shop and so is the coolant fluid that’s overflow from when they changed out all the fluids and put new hoses on the engine and new water pump. If the purpose of doing an inspection is just telling me there are other problems with my vehicle and surely what you are telling me is the truth brand new engine installed by an engine installer with less than 2 miles on it had no leaks that was overflow from being installed if you are looking to get work by doing other things on a car inspection maybe be truthful and come out and talk to the customer. And tell me I do not work at this location I work Yorktown, I work Virginia Beach location and the inspector is from another location and try for me to pay over Thousand dollars to repair non issues no coolant at water pump hoses, and no oil leak

I was hesitant about going here just because as a girls we’re all told about how mechanics will over price you for services. But I went and oh am I glad that I did. Every employee here that I had the pleasure of meeting had a great attitude and were very attentive. Even when I had to come in for an emergency because my car kept over heating. They listened to me and all my worries and fixed what was going on right there. I appreciate them listening to me above all else. Whenever I need something they are definitely going to be my go too!

Great service! My vehicle (2011 Hyundai Azera) was deadlined and needed a new starter. They put me in touch with a towing company which was very generous because it was free. Here’s what I don’t like…I thought the labor charge was extremely fair but it would have been nice to have had the option to choose parts at different price points, ($350 for a starter motor itself plus the $195 diagnostics fee feels greedy, especially since I was able to provide symptoms, a lot of folks don’t even try). They also say in their phone options to press 1 to get a quote but then when you ask for one over the phone they can’t do it. This leaves customers with not enough information to shop around unless they bring their car in, this also feels rather greedy. As far as service goes I think they fix things well, but they forget some important details like remembering to reattach my glove compartment after checking the cabin air filter. They communicate well and they work expediently, but they are too rigid with pricing. One star off for forgetting to reattach my glove compartment after checking the cabin air filter, not a HUGE deal but still attention to detail matters. Update as of 2/06/2026 It appears that my glove compartment has been damaged during the time it was at the Meineke shop.

My visit to Meineke in Newport News was top tier! Everyone there treated me with kindness and respect, and the representative really knew their stuff. I even got a free CarMax report with pictures of what needed attention, along with the service I came in for, which was such a nice touch. The mechanic and the rep were both awesome—friendly, honest, and professional. Plus, they offer loaner cars if you call ahead, which is super convenient. Meineke was great at this location. They got my dodge journey in pretty quick & done my breaks & rotors package. My car is handling much better now. They made it easy to get financing to spread out the cost of this unexpected fix so I wouldn't have to pop out $1700 all at once which was not budgeted. The Carter's appreciate the work they done. 😃 I would use this location again

This place is absolute trash. I set an online appointment specifically asking to get my brakes replaced. After an hour they tell me my brakes need to be replaced but they can’t get them before the shop closes. Additionally, they told me I had 8 items that needed immediate action including air filters and coolant. I just got the oil changed two weeks prior, from and actual dealership, there is no way they over looked that stuff. This place has the potential to seriously rip people off and is poorly managed.
