They did the inspection and although I thought they were a over zealous with inspection, they were correct in identifying the failure points. The parts amounted to $30 and it took me 10 minutes to install the parts and correct the failures. The price they quoted me was more than 5 times the price of the parts. I understand 20 dollars for inspection is barely enough to cover the labor rates and cost involved of operating a car repair business. For an individual like me who truly know the cost involved with car repairs, i felt the price quoted was a little above and beyond what i felt was reasonable. For the laymen person who known nothing about cars I guess the choice is to pay for the repairs. If an hour was needed to do the work I would say the quoted price would of been reasonable.

DO NOT GO HERE! My wife took our very well maintained car here for inspection and they racked up a "necessary repairs" quote of about $2000. It appears they were using Carfax to base their estimate rather than inspection. I have maintained the car beyond manufacturer recommendations since we bought the car new (shipped from the plant vs a car lot). Once my wife notified me of the shady inspection results I talked to the owner? / Salesman and he talked me into at least paying to have the brake pads replaced which was far overpriced but made me believe there was a risk of her being pulled over for the failed inspection sticker (you have about a week to resolve before any fines). Furthermore, he stated that the work wouldn't be warrantied because of rotor wear although the inspection results they provided didn't state the same (I inspected the rotors after I got home and there was very slight and expected wear but no grooving which was stated as the reason for not warranting the work). After a bit of haggling I agreed to a lower price (still too high for an hours worth of work) only because I didn't have time to do it myself, and in the end he still charged her the original price rather than what was agreed up on. When she tried to leave, they told her the car had to be jump started earlier and needed the battery replaced which I had just checked a day prior. Needless to say, she's had no issues starting the car since. NOTE: I have done my own automotive work from oil changes to engine rebuild for the last 20 years, this guy got me because I was in a time crunch and my wife had to have her car for a week before I would be able to work on it.

Hands down the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I scheduled two appointments for a check engine light diagnostic, and the young kid at the front desk was beyond rude. The moment he found out I had a warranty, his attitude completely changed. He pretty much refused to help me, told me they wouldn’t look at my car the same day, and said I’d have to leave it for at least three days. This was after my warranty company had already authorized and agreed to fully pay for diagnostic testing. There was zero reason for the delay besides laziness or not wanting to deal with it. His tone and attitude made it very clear he had no interest in helping me at all. If this is the type of person they trust to be the face of their business, it says everything you need to know. I’ll never come back, and I recommend anyone else steer clear unless you enjoy being talked down to and treated like your time doesn’t matter.

Had my car diagnosed and was told a bunch of stuff from the turbo needed replaced. Battery. Leaking oil. Had it towed from there to my dealership and they found absolutely nothing wrong with the car from what I told them I was informed by this shop. I don’t know if they were trying to get money out of me for fake reporting from the test. Would not take my car to this shop again.

Paid $860 to get an oil change, an O2 sensor, and 212 just to find where a small valve cover oil leak was coming from. Had to reset my own oil change service light as the cherry on top. You are guaranteed to get upsold here on everything possible and pay a premium price for all of it. Many better local options. Update: I was contacted directly by a service manager regarding these issues and they have taken actions to remedy.

I think the mechanics were very competent. The issue that I had was the cost the parts mark up. The service writer tried to make this better, but he was already starting with a deficit. The cost that was quoted to me was $60/foot for 2.5" exhaust pipe. It should be around ~ $10-$15/foot. Same for the muffler it was around $230! A muffler should be $100-$120. I showed him parts at local auto parts stores that were much less and that is when he tried to bring the price down. The cost for a muffler, tail pipe, two hangers and 2' of pipe was ~ $870!! I am fine with a 10-15% service charge for the parts not 200-400%! The work they did was great, but this job should cost between $350 and $500. I will not be going back here.

My engine light came on while driving to the beach. I had over a 100 miles left before reaching my destination. I called Meineke located at Yorktown, VA. Connor answered the phone and said they squeeze me in to help me out. I was so relieved. I had never been to a Meineke service center. I learned that their policy is to check numerous parts of your car so that they can provide you with a detailed diagnosis. My car is over 20 years old. It was using alot of oil. After I added 3 quarts, and after resetting the light, it did not come back on. Meineke had me back on the road within 2 hours. They even test drove it to be sure the car was driving fine. I am so grateful I called them first!!!

Connor took care of us to ensure everything was made right for a service partially missed previously (no safety concerns, just needed the documentation). He and the techs gave me good advice and didn’t try to sell my unnecessarily on anything they wouldn’t do themselves. Much appreciated!

Nemo was fantastic! He got top-tier tires at a great price, quickly identified the source of an oil leak, and even offered to split the payments with 0% interest. Quick, professional, and very accommodating—highly recommend!

Well, I will say that I had an appointment for just an oil change at 11:30AM and didn’t get my car until 4:50PM I understand things happen. Connor is as always amazing and his customer service skills are actually what gave me motivation to give the rating that I did. I know they are holding specials and are extremely busy but let us say I couldn’t wait to get out.

Extremely disappointing experience. I brought my car in today for a wheel alignment. About 10 minutes after dropping it off, I received a message saying the service was “completed.” Anyone who knows cars knows that is impossible in that amount of time. When I called, they told me they couldn’t perform the alignment because my car is low and they didn’t want to risk damaging anything. Fair enough — but here’s the problem: When I went to pick up my keys, I checked my car before walking inside, and I noticed that my front lip was cracked. It was NOT like that when I dropped the car off. No one mentioned it. No one took responsibility. They were fully prepared to hand me the keys and let me find out on my own later. When I asked about the damage, they handed me the paper I signed, the “risk acceptance” form, and basically told me: “We are not responsible for that.” Let me be very clear: This did NOT happen outside of their control. If you see the front lip is going to hit, you STOP. You don’t attempt it anyway and then hide behind a waiver to avoid accountability. This damage was completely preventable and happened because of negligence, not because of the vehicle being low. The professional thing to do would have been to not attempt the alignment once they saw the clearance issue, or at the very least inform me immediately instead of staying silent. ⸻ They damaged my car and tried to avoid responsibility. No transparency. No accountability. No professionalism. If you care about your vehicle, go somewhere else. I will never return, and I will not be recommending this shop to anyone. ☝️ I would like to leave an update on this situation: Today the manager personally called me. He was very respectful and understanding. He apologized and acknowledged that what happened was not acceptable. Without me asking, he offered to purchase a brand new replacement part and have it installed at no cost. He did not pressure me to change or delete my review, and I appreciate that. I’m updating this review by my own choice, because I believe it’s also important to recognize when a business takes responsibility and makes things right. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but how a company responds says everything. I’m grateful for the way the situation is being handled now.

I do not recommend coming here. I had an appointment at 7:30am for a state inspection and I dropped off my car. They told me it was going to take 1-2 hours. Which I really didn’t even know why it would take that long for an inspection but sure. Almost 4 hours go by and my car still isn’t ready. When I got there they had told me it was a good thing I was dropping off because the inspector wasn’t even there yet.. I don’t understand why they would give me a 7:30 appointment then. I will not be returning and I will tell everyone I know about my experience here. I came here because it’s the only place I know that’s open on Saturdays. And that’s the only day I’m off work. Next time I will take the time off work and go get it done somewhere else. Service here sucks.

I’m so disappointed and disgusted with Meineke. I needed an overdue state inspection done and was happy to find a place who would make an appointment rather than first come first served situation. They were very nice and I thought accommodating until the inspection was complete. I was told the rotors on my front brakes were rusty and worn and needed to be replaced to the tune of over $500. Past experience told me this cost was on the high side. I told them I couldn’t afford it that day and would call back. They failed my cars inspection. A friend recommended a private mechanic, PTL Automotive previously and I wanted to get another quote. After the mechanic there took a look and could have lied to me too, told me there was nothing wrong with the front brakes and passed my car. He could have made several hundred dollars from me that day but was honest. I wouldn’t send anyone to Meineke going forward. Shame on them!!!
