I had a check engine light checked at another shop and they referred me to Meineke to get a second opinion on replacing a catalytic converter or not. I came in to Meineke and asked them to look at it. Within 5 minutes of taking my car back, they told me that I needed to replace my catalytic converter, obviously they didn’t do any sort of testing or anything, just read the error code off a scanner. They come to give me a quote on a replacement and tell me that my car has to fit California emissions standards so it’s going to be more expensive. They estimate 3200 dollars for the replacement all together, including over 500 dollars in labor for a job that shouldn’t take anymore than 2 1/2 hours. I tell them I’m not willing to put 3200 dollars into my car that is pushing 110k miles, and the receptionist tries to talk me in to putting the 3200 dollars in, which is bizarre that she was trying to make financial decisions for me. After I left, I look at the inspection pictures that THE SHOP THEMSELVES sent me and there is a picture of my emissions label with a big circle around the statement saying that my car can’t be sold in a state with California emissions standards, which directly contradicts what I was told in shop. All research I have done since, and a quote I got from a different mechanic says that this replacement should be 1200 dollars at most, 2000 dollars cheaper than what I was quoted here. At best, the mechanics just didn’t read the label that they were using as evidence to charge me 2000 extra dollars. At worst, they were trying to scam me. The real kicker is that I drove off, my check engine light turned off itself and I am having no issues with gas mileage or drivability. If you want to spend an insane amount of money on a repair that you don’t need, this is the shop for you.

The mechanic that looked at my car seemed like he knew his stuff Was looking to get my exhaust repaired which was a 12 inch repair and they were asking a crazy amount fir less than 1/2 worth of work they wanted $300 I told them to take my car down they have some very outrageous prices

Had requested a simple oil change and tire rotation on my Volvo 2007 XC 90 and expect just that. I took photos of my car wheel that are dirty to see if the car was rotated just in case. I was given the keys after an hour and was told all is good; at no point did they disclose that the technician said it wasn’t necessary because later when I left I noticed that the dirt splatter on the wheels where still the same as before. I went back and told them they didn’t rotate the tire like how I asked. Principal being, I rotate them with every oil change to keep the treads even. They end up rotating it after I said I still requested it and it’s on the ticket. 4 days later while driving on I-95 for about 700 miles later my low oil light came up despite not having any leaks on the car and them charging me extra for another quart! I was almost left stranded on the highway if I didn’t have an extra quart of oil in the trunk of my car. I was hoping that I would come back to here for more work but I’m not so trusting now.

Got straight pipes put on my car, had to go back to get one side tightened it was rattling, month later other size came loose, they fixed it but because I had to go back twice for same thing I should get some knocked off what they charged me at least for the gas. I probably won’t go back there any more

We were traveling from Ohio and started having exhaust issues when we got off the highway. We called Meineke 1st thing Monday morning and got an appointment for 12 o'clock the same day. When we got to the shop they took my truck in, got it up on a lift and showed me the problem. We discussed the repairs and within an hour we were back on our way. Thank you for your prompt service and attention to detail.

Nice people but way too expensive. Almost &900 to replace rear pads and rotors. Regretted it later. Could have got parts myself for $200. Your 800 number is disconnected. Should be able to get it turned back on with all the extra money from my break job.

I just want to say that I am very satisfied with this company. I brought in my Ram 2500 to have the front brakes done. If be possible I will give 0 stars, I used to be a frequency customer with my cars but this time I switched with a Mercedes Benz, in this case like usually I trust in Meineke. For surprise all personal employees are new and said ok. I decided pay attention through the window in the room what the mechanic (if I can call them like that because they aren’t professional and doesn’t have ethics) what they do with my car! One of them started to talk with bad words saying to his partners “why I’m looking through the window if don’t have anything else for do… like very rude and like crazy” what they doesn’t that I was listening all time! My question here is why I can see what they do with my car? I told that to the manager when this guy comes in and she doesn’t said anything, never call me to ask what happened, nothing! FOR LAST SURPRISE I was watching the job (oil change) in my car and the other guy when he was installing the oil drain plug they never using a torque wrench, they just use simple wrench! When this job professionally is necessary because a riding to the material crankcase requires it! I will never come back to this place and absolutely not recommend

Took my Jeep there for an exhaust rattle. I was fully expecting to need a new muffler. Within 15 minutes they found that there was a loose clip which was attaching my exhaust. They re-fastened the clip and secured it with a spot weld at no charge. I was amazed. It is just hard to find honest people like that anymore. Needless to say, I will definitely be going back to this Meineke for all my car needs in the future. Really appreciate the honesty and excellent service.

Had wiper blades installed yesterday. When checking out they would not give me either my senior or military discount. Also 5 minutes after I left I noticed I had a cracked Winshield. I know they were responsible because it want there when I arrived because I would have noticed it before I got there. No need to go back. They wouldn’t have admitted it since I left. I will never go back to another as long as I live.

Actual service was great. The person at the front desk was great. No problems with the mechanic. Previously had a repair done around May that cost over $2000. I should have received rewards for this repair that would have paid for my oil change. It was explained that an account wasn’t set up previously therefore I had no reward points. I had an account when I lived in Greensboro. I was told the points I now have are from the oil change and nothing from my previous repairs. The overall service since moving to Myrtle Beach has been lacking.

Thank God for a reputable company! The dealership said I needed an alignment and after doing some price checking decided to bring my car here. Before they did any work, they called and asked what the problem was and said they would do an inspection and a test drive prior to doing any repair work. Didn't end up getting the work done over there bc my car required some specialized work, but I was sitting for a bit in their really nice waiting room, comfy chairs and nice amenities, and the customer service I observed was very kind, true southern hospitality. They'll make sure you're taken care of and not given the run around. They gave me one of the better quotes for brakes and rotors I've seen in the area for my car.
