The staff here have always been professional and helpful. Even in moments where I as a customer have been stressed and not as nice. The scheduling turn around is fantastic! This review has been long overdue, I have been a customer for 2 years now. I have a large family with teen drivers and we have had almost every vehicle there for repairs as large as an engine replacement, timing chain repairs down to oil changes. Although Milex is a bigger name, the owners a local family and hands on from the front door to the back door. Jen and Jeff are great at communicating and getting you the right answers to all your questions. They also work hard to get you fair pricing. Mechanic work on cars is not always easy or precise, sometimes the fix in the moment isn't all that is needed. Whenever something was missed or more was needed, the team work quick to make it right! Huge thanks to Grant, Melissa, Jen, Jeff and all the mechanic staff for taking care of my families safety!

I called to get a quote to have Spark plugs replaced. They would not offer a quote until they inspected the vehicle. They offered a free inspection, and that threw red flags in my face. Are they going to try and up sell me on stuff I don't want done? Why not just give a quote for what the customer wants done? I gave it 3 only because I have never been there, however based on my first impression.... I don't feel this is the right fit for me!

Trusted Milex with my 79 Camaro and was overall satisfied. Technician Jerry was very knowledgeable and took the time to talk to me after the service. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they parked the car in a public parking lot near their shop and somebody door dinged my Camaro.

Took my car to do an inspection the first thing I seen was coolent leaking from my car when they put it on the lift. My car never had a leak when I got it and all of a sudden it’s leaking. On top of that my gasket was never leaking there was not even a code when I checked it. Don’t bring your car here if you want it messed up even more.

Milex Auto Care in Cedar Rapids did a great job replacing an overhead camshift and the many sub-components that go with such a large auto repair. The store manager was very good in addressing email questions from me for car repair updates. Jeff at the front desk was very professional and nice. However, a weekly update from Jeff would have been helpful (simply a phone text) given the understandable delays for the repair. Thanks for all the help and the car runs great!

On 11/2/20 I took my car here to have the oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket replaced and paid the $1465.56 bill. After about I called and they informed me my car was ready to be picked up. When I picked up my car I noticed there was oil all over the front and side of the car, and once I opened the door it was all over the inside the car as well. I was upset but didn't say anything and went and got the car cleaned. The next day I check to make sure all the repairs were done and noticed they had broken off a piece of plastic that held up a box for the cords in the engine. They left the box just setting on top of the engine cover. I took the car back and asked they fix the plastic. I was informed they would call to see if they could get the part from BMW as they didn't have it in stock. I returned back to BMW and spoke with the owner and he informed me the part was already broken when I bought the car in. I informed him it was not as I had just checked the car before I took it in, and they would've had to remove it to replace the valve cover gasket. The owner was upset with me and told me he would try and see if they could find the part but wasn't sure. This was the 4th time I had been back and after his attitude I just said we are good. I will say they did fix the oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket, but I ended up paying for the part they broke to get to the valve cover. I'm not one to write a review on bad service or complain, but I wanted to explain my experience getting my car repaired here.

My morning started with a low tire warning light on in my vehicle. I drove my car to the local Casey’s to put air in the tire. Then drove to Milex to see if they could look at it. It was a busy morning in the shop and I didn’t have an appointment. They got me right in, found a nail in my tire, and patched it up. Cost was very reasonable. I have all my service work done at Milex. They are knowledgeable, experienced, and do great work. Everyone is very friendly too. Top notch shop.
