These guys are the friendliest mechanics in Reno. Even if you don't live in the valley's it's worth coming to them. They are open to giving advice and recommendations and have never done me wrong. they're super busy for a reason.

I highly recommend North Valley Auto to anyone. I have found them to be honest, which in my experience is like finding a unicorn. Not only are they honest, but the quality of their work is exceptional, and pricing is fair. They also make drop-off and pick-up easy. These guys will have my business FOREVER. (A unicorn I'm telling you, a big blue unicorn that sparkles.)

My AC didn’t work in my car, and he got it recharged and working. I really appreciate you. It has worked all summer. I meant to leave this review months ago, but this place is awesome! Definitely check them out.

Our trunk latch broke on our drive back home, close to the long weekend, and the Reno dealership's response was to give us a diagnostic in 5 days! A call to this place led to a quick, stressless, and courteous fix! The labor fees were extremely fair. These are honest, and friendly people.

I have a Water Pump failure for my Camry 2019. I spoke with the Toyota and initially they said it is not covered under warranty as I am at 56 Months. So I went to North Valley Automotive for the replacement. Brent looked at it and confidently said that I am still under power terrain coverage (60 months, 60000 miles) and suggested to double check with Toyota. I called Toyota again and asked about the Power Terrain warranty (the Water pump is covered) and showed them the documentation. I had to talk to upper management, and they accepted it, saving me $1000. I highly recommend North valley Automotive.

I went here after meineke quoted me $5200 for a new catalytic converter. These guys did it for3100. The other guys also said my serpentine belt was bad …. But it’s not. This shop is honest and fair. I’ll go back whenever I have other issues with my car.

Thus shop is fantastic! Got me in with short notice, reviewed what they did and some other minor things they noted. Fair pricing and excellent work! Highly recommend! They've secured a new customer with me!

I had an amazing mechanic for years who moved to Sonora, and I’ve used so many mechanics since, I never found a good, honest, fair one… Until I tried out the North Valley guys. I will take my old bucket of a Jeep to them for anything here on out! They were awesome, quoted me a job, stuck to it and nailed it. Thanks so much for the work, and with this old Jeep and all her issues, I’m sure I’ll see you soon!! Thanks again!!

It's clear why these guys get five stars. They are friendly, professional and quite skilled. The owner has been in business for at least 15 years, apparently, and knows how to run a business right. He got us in same day since our issue was fixable in under an hour. He ordered and bought the parts quickly and we were out of there in a very short time. The car runs like a charm again. Prices were reasonable, as well. Highly recommended.

My co-workers and I are industrial mechanics and we take our cars to North Valley automotive rather than work on them ourselves that's how good these guys are.

We have been coming here for 5 years and are happy customers. This is an honest shop with reasonable pricing. There are minor frustrations that come with a small owned business but they have always been good to us and have always been reasonable. For those reasons we are customers for as long as they will let us. The area they could improve is communication. I think a receptionist would be a positive addition that would help with communication. That person can greet people, check people in, answer the phones, schedule work and call people during the day to get updates etc. I believe that would make a huge improvement and give the owner a lift so he can focus his skills elsewhere. We are very happy customers and I recommend everyone here, but with a warning so they aren't upset. Understanding how this shop operates can reduce frustrations.

One of the best, most trustworthy mechanics I have ever encountered! The entire team is great, but I especially appreciate Kody's time and dedication with my vehicle. He ensured that my truck was road worthy and even went the extra mile to replace a light that I hadn't even noticed. North Valley Automotive is a wonderful place to go with genuine, hardworking, and kind people. I can't recommend them enough! Thank you for all your help!

This is by FAR the BEST place you could take your car for whatever you need. This crew is not only knowledgeable, and efficient --- the foundation of this business is INTREGRITY! A rare commodity in our world today. I drive a 2007 Toyota Highlander with 310,000 miles on it from here to Montana. San Diego and back numerous times a year. Knowing that Brett and his crew take care of my car 🚗 gives me total peace of mind traveling. The prices are fair ... well worth their service. If you take your car anywhere else you must be stuck on stupid!! 😆 🤣 😂

Wired my o2 flow sensor wrong multiple times and told me I had a bad car and to get a new one. Told me my truck didn't have a drain in the electric and left the jump box it needed to start it inside the engine and closed the hood on it. Not Good. Charged over and over for their mistakes, which they didn't catch.

Brought my sisters car in for a diagnosis, made it clear as day I wanted to make sure the part that was bad was an Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor, as the parts guy was trying to sell my sister an o2 sensor she didn’t need. The man I spoke with was very polite and reaffirmed what I had thought, that the EGT sensor was the reason why my sister’s car is throwing a code. We agreed to an appointment the following week, on a Tuesday so the mechanic could DIAGNOSE what was wrong with her car. I made it clear I did not want a part replacement or anything of the sort until we were sure that’s what the issue was. I wanted to show my sister she could trust mechanic shops, as I myself am in the industry and want people to have more faith in the people working in it. After having dropped the car off, my sister was told she would hear about what the issue was later that day. She never got a call. She called later in the afternoon that day, left a voicemail, and didn’t get a response. The next day she called again, left another voicemail, and still no response. Finally on the third day of her car being held at the shop, she called and a lady answered the phone. My sister asked what the situation was with her car, and the lady said she would check with the mechanic and call my sister back. She had forgotten to call my sister back though, it seemed like there was a lot going on, and she had spaced it, so it was understandable. 30 minutes after the phone call, my sister headed down to the shop to get more information. The lady who had answered the phone was very busy dealing with customers (again understandable), my sister asked what the mechanic had said, and the lady said they were going to bring it to the dealership. The mechanic was out on an appointment and so they couldn’t tell us why the car was being brought to the dealership. So with all of that in mind, my problem lies in the following. My sister was not communicated with, about what was wrong with her vehicle, and what the mechanics could do about it going forward. We did not give the okay on installing/replacing a new part, as we had wanted to make sure that the part we thought was the problem, was the problem. The second issue I have is that my sister was not told about why the vehicle needed to go to the dealership, nor was she called and asked if she’d be okay with the car going to the dealership. My sister mentions that when she asked if she could take the car, the shop was okay with it, and the lady behind the counter talked about a new part being put in, then taken out and replaced with the old part (not sure what was going on there lol), but overall the whole darn situation is confusing. The shop had a massive lack of communication, not sure if that is due to the workload. Tonight I got around to trying to repair the problem, as the check engine had been cleared at their shop, but popped back on, so I figured I’d get it fixed. The sensor is very tight in the hole. Way tighter than it is supposed to be. The shop told us they took it out, replaced it, took out the replacement, and put back the original. I’ve been fighting this darn thing for the last 8 hours off and on, and I’m just now getting it moving a little bit. I’m not sure if the sensor was over tightened or cross threaded, but this location was the last place to touch this part, and you guys said so. We were not charged for anything, and I appreciate that, but things could’ve been handled much much better. I am not sure where this went wrong, but I’d definitely like to know why her car was going to the dealership, and why your mechanic pulled a goofball with this sensor. I’m pretty bummed, wish this experience could’ve gone better.

My son's car needed repair. The screw on the O2 sensor kept coming off and was making a loud noise. We took it to one mechanic and they quoted $2,100 to repair. His car isn't worth that much. We took it to North Valley. The mechanic was honest and fair. At first he was trying to get the part from Honda but the price was way too much. He was able to weld a piece to make a new thread for the screw to tighten. It worked!! It's been a few weeks and it is still holding. Car runs great and no longer makes a loud noise. I appreciate the fact that North Valley was resourceful and so helpful for my college student. Highly recommend!

I just came in to this automotive mechanic place today. In fact, these guys were able to help me out there this morning with automotive work/ an install for a vehicle that I had towed over there earlier this morning. The price is absolutely fair, and I am so appreciative that they were able to help me install a part for one of my vehicles. I was getting sick of places like Tires Plus (boo!), and I know what companies like that do with their tactics. Plus, it’s good to know if I’m busy and have things going, that I can actually trust these guys with their knowledge, experience, and their integrity. I know think I found a great place for automotive work with this business, and I highly recommend. First impressions matter, and these guys are fair and know their stuff! I am going to let other people I know and family members know about this place. They are excellent! They had the work done in maybe four hours or so. Fantastic! I am going to be making an appointment with this business for another vehicle of mine. It’s my first experience (some neighbors and others recommended me to them) with this company, and I’m glad I know about them. Thank you very much, North Valley Automotive! You guys rule.

From suspension overhauls, wheel bearings, and engine parts replacement these guys perform with awesome quality and service. Very fair prices and quick completions. They go above trying help diagnose and solve any problems you have. They take care of their customers and I recommend them to anyone needing auto services.
