I want to thank Nathan at Old School Automotive for taking extra time to solve a problem with my vehicle! The Toyota dealership in Spartanburg wanted $3,400 to make what turned out to be a minor repair. Fortunately, I got a second opinion from Nathan....Problem solved for less than $400!

It says Old School but I find them to be high tech… detailed status reports about your car, fast emails, estimates and invoices, along with fast, friendly service. Highly recommend..

These guys are great. Their values are superior. They are honest, dedicated hard workers who stand behind their work. They typically work on my car but this time recommended someone for the transmission. They could have taken my money or steered me wrong. They want a repeat customer and this is how you earn them. Thanks guys

I highly recommended! Our daughter is a student at USC (2 hours from home) and experienced an issue. We chose to call Old School because of their positive online reviews and we weren’t disappointed. They were very transparent, professional and most importantly made our daughter feel at ease. Car had a thorough diagnosis and was repaired within 3 days. Excellent communication and customer service by Scott.

These guys are the best! I have taken my daughter's car here a couple of times (she is a University student in town), and I can say with confidence, Old School is my go to place for car care in Columbia. They will get your car scheduled into their shop quickly (I have always been able to get in within a day or two) and get to work on it immediately. Once in there, they are honest, open, friendly, fair and responsive. They also do great work and really want to "earn your business". They have earned that with me and my daughter. I will no longer look for other places to take my cars, these guys are great. If you are in the Columbia area, or your son/daughter goes to USC and needs a mechanic, look no further. This is the place!

I’m a college student at USC and they were so easy to work with. My car needed to be at the shop asap and they let me drop my car off with out an appointment and I got it back the next day. I’ve had a lot of car problems since coming to SC and I’ve gone to many shops and Old School was by far the best place. 10/10 would recommend!

I am so happy I found Old School Tire. The Nuttall family has been putting tires on all of my cars since they were on Taylor St. and this time was as great as the first time I absolutely will not use any one else. They go over and beyond each and every time. They present options and do not try to sell you something that you don’t need or want. Next time you, or anyone you know, need tires go to Old school tire. I promise you will be happy

So happy I was referred to Old School Automotive by a LOT of people after asking for recommendations through a local Facebook group. My granddaughter had bought her first car and we knew it needed an alignment as well as a few other things - turns out the car had been in a major wreck and there were a lot of issues that hadn't been addressed by whoever tried to fix it prior to selling. These guys went over everything and came up with a plan that was very reasonable and had it road ready the next day! They kept us informed and went over everything along with pictures. So grateful for their help!

We used to be customers of Nuttall Automotive even before they moved away from downtown. We had interactions with Keith Nuttall there and were always well-treated. Now that Nuttall is closed, we were looking for a place to go for the services we couldn't do on our own, so we remembered seeing Old School Automotive, knowing that was Keith Nuttall's newer shop. I was very satisfied with my experience. The cost came out lower than the quote and was even given an additional discount. Thanks so much!

It was an amazing experience. I was in and out very quickly. They even accommodated me coming in a little early so I could get to work. My flat was fixed, good as new. I plan to come back for all my future vehicle needs.

For a first impression, not impressed. The two stars are for Scott. He was polite and answered my questions. While asking my questions, the man in the office sitting behind him in the office came out and told me “We don’t have a crystal ball. We don’t know how much it’s gonna be to fix your vehicle.” I just think it’s normal for females to ask a multitude of questions. He was very irritable , when I wasn’t even speaking to him. I wouldn’t recommend people here because customer service is everything. I don’t care if I asked 100 questions, I expect them to be answered. I politely took my vehicle to another car repair shop, where the diagnostic fee goes towards my repair.

Man, my experience with these guys deserve better than 5 stars! In this day and age, finding a TRUSTWORTHY mechanic is tough. Scott helped me with diagnosing my daughter's issue and had her car back within a couple of days. I don't know if the repair was over or under priced, but the cost I paid was worth every penny! They were open and honest about the repairs and made dealing with this issue from out of town, an absolute breeze. They earned my return business!

Really happy with everything they've been able to do for my car! Super nice front office and service team all around! They definitely try to look out for you! Went out their way to patch up a couple small things around the car as well... It really shows what their priorities are focused on!

Stopped by their shop on a Friday afternoon hoping to set an appointment (appointments can be set at their website, but I wanted to get a feel in person). They explained that usually Friday afternoons are very busy, but today they had the alignment bay open and an available tech to do the work on the spot. They took my keys and had the job done within thirty minutes. While I was waiting another customer was advised about the work they had done and was offered some great advice on items that will need attention in the future ("Your car's manufacturer recommends a coolant change at this mileage. There is nothing wrong with the coolant, so it doesn't need to be done now, but you should plan to have it done soon to stay ahead of the maintenance.") My truck has 220K miles on it. After the alignment, it drives fantastically with no pulling at all. Friendly, competent, customer service oriented and efficient. I'm very impressed.

We were traveling from Myrtle Beach to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Our car would not start in the morning, so we had to call AAA for a jump. They got us going, but our cars check engine light came on and the car would not shift out of low gear so we ended up driving at a very low speed. We had friends in Columbia that referred us too old school Automotive. We called and explained our situation, and Scott told us to bring the vehicle by as they were busy, but would get to it as soon as they could. We were thinking we had a battery or an alternator problem, so they got us in to check it out. They ran tests on the battery and the alternator, even stressing it with a full load, and said there was nothing wrong with the alternator or the battery. They did say there were some codes that they cleared, probably due to the cold weather and having to have the vehicle jumped. They could’ve sold us a new alternator or battery, and we would not have known the difference. We were excited to leave there with just a very reasonable diagnostic fee. The check engine light was cleared, our car shifts perfectly now, and we have been driving it for three days with no further issues. We were back on the road within an hour and a half. I just appreciate the integrity of old-school Automotive, as they could’ve really taken advantage of us, but they did not! Kudos to this outstanding business for helping distressed travelers and being honest about our issues.
